i still think about this one a lot. my perspective has changed so much over the course of my hrt journey (I started testosterone one month before the original drawing) but I still like what I'm trying to do in this drawing and I'm glad others seem too as well

what are your biggest inspos for your ocs? i love molly a lot and she reminds me of polly pocket toys in particular lol

i don't make ocs as often anymore (would love to change this), but when i do it's usually to fill a role of something I'd like to visually explore

i made molly when i was about to graduate high school, which is a time where i felt really odd about my gender presentation. i wanted an outlet to enjoy feminine things without embodying femininity, which was something I had trouble with at the time. she started off as a vague Y2K inspired lovecore aesthetic character, but later became more of her own character (which influences her fashion now). molly and her partners were mostly created for me to explore different fashion aesthetics, then they gained personalities around those archetypes

if i had to sum up all of mollys current influences, id say that she's like if spongebob was a girl and that girl is an exmormon version of britney spears. and she's in fashion school. i like to dress her in a lot of fashion inspired by different 21st century decades, as long as it's campy, unique, girly, and fun. i can see the polly pocket comparison, since i remember seeing them as a kid.

im happy that you like my art, but there are infinitely better artists than me everywhere (a lot of them are younger than me, too)

learning more about art isnt gatekept by age. as long as youre living, you can make more art. i want everyone to be making art, so please, keep going with it no matter what
