Do you think the Elm Street franchise has any future in terms of film? The most obvious route would be a sequel to the remake or yet another reboot, but I'd personally love to see more with Robert Englund. While I don't think there's much left to explore in terms of Freddy's characterization, I feel like there's so much unused potential left in exploring concepts of reality and dreams. Such a shame Wes passed away. I always hoped he'd come back to Elm Street one last time beyond New Nightmare.
I mean, I’m not sure Freddy ever really evolves as a character. When you look at it, when the sequels try to evolve Freddy’s character, they always go backwards. 3, 5, Freddy’s Dead, they all just go in to pull more out of the backstory. Freddy just does his thing, though. He’s always gonna be Freddy.
And I do think it has a future on film. I think anything does as long as someone approaches it with an idea that feels fresh and interesting. As long as you have a good story to tell, you should be able to tell it, and if it can reinvigorate a franchise at the same time, all the better.
I think for most of these franchises, the right route to take would be an ambiguous standalone film that does not depend on nor necessarily deny continuity.
I think you could play on Freddy’s relevance with a new film. Something where Freddy’s weakened, nearly powerless because kids just aren’t afraid of him anymore. Similar to what Peter Jackson had wanted to do with his movie.
If you have something where Freddy is relegated back to a role that keeps him in the shadows, even if it’s by necessity of the plot, or if you play up Freddy’s role as a shapeshifter, then you could actually and realistically bring Robert Englund back, which is really the thing everybody wants.
A lot of valid points and thoughts here

Simply put, Jack Davis was one of the greatest cartoonists that ever lived. In any genre. One of my true heroes

If NASA were to ask you to pick the ten top GIFs you think best represent Earth during the events of 2016 at this time to send out into space for aliens to see, which ten would you pick?
Perfect collection, to represent the human race right now

This was Freddy’s appearance on a Japanese variety show around 1990, judging by the makeup.
And yes. Yes, that’s Robert Englund.
Too weird for words, who has a clue about what the fuck is going on here?
.. Just one more reason why Freddy is the king
Fortunate to own this original painting, love it as much today as when I first got it
