Who let me get here? Who let me reach a– SECOND MILESTONE? 

Absolutely insane, but thank all of you! Thank every single person who’s sent in questions, compliments, memes, who even just followed this blog! Honestly– thank every single person, those I haven’t interacted with yet and those that I do interact with constantly. I’m extremely flattered, extremely happy that there is something about how I portray Asher Forrester that makes you, the person reading this, stay. You can probably imagine how amazing and how much that warms my cold, cold heart. I hope you guys stick around, I hope we get more people to join us on this journey! 14. last kiss

there wasn’t much that could be done with broken ribs. 

not even when you were the basilisk.

she could feel them now, piercing something in her chest, the pain growing every time she tried to breathe. the degore had a knack for reading body language, and familiar as she was with pain, beskha couldn’t hide the signs while under the gaze of such a practiced eye.

that’s why it had to be now, beskha thinks as she leans in, pulling edie into a kiss. it needed to be done before the coppery tang of her own blood tainted things. maybe then the bitterness she already felt could be ignored, if this– if just this kiss gets to be pure. she never gets enough time, does she?

part of her wishes she could die like this, suffocated by her kiss. but that wouldn’t be fair to edie nor something she should be thinking. so she pulls away, already forcing that smirk on her face.  “edie, i–” tell her, just tell her. the sellsword can feel it, that edie waits on an answer, but beskha just bites back a pained laugh and adds “i’ll tell you when we meet again.” it isn’t what she means to say, wants to say. it’s all wrong. “now go on, you don’t have time to stand here.”

i’m sorry, edie.

beskha can maintain what’s left of her facade as long as edie still sees her, even as it hurts to mount a horse of her own. edie can’t keep looking back at her for long, though. eventually, beskha can’t keep herself on the horse and falls off, the mount running off without her. “seven hells...” while it’s enough to make her wish she’d blacked out, the pain just results in hacking coughs, frothy blood coating the ground beside her. i just wanted more time. 

as she watches edie’s retreating form, her thoughts wander to asher. it’s harder to focus now, but the sun’s setting, and asher? maybe he’s waiting for her there, somewhere over the horizon. there could be drinks at the ready, and that grin of his…

                                                  Beskha! 

pfft, almost like he’s here now. this is enough to dull the pain in her chest, she thinks, trying the grin on her own face for the first–and last–time.
