Adam nodded along to Alessio’s words, eyes glued down on to the table. He didn’t want to look up, make contact, in case his eyes should betray what was going through his mind. Occasionally he would find himself worrying that someone around him might be a mindreader, that someone out there might read what he was hiding like an open book.
He wanted to be a detective. It’s hard work, and he thought he had what it took to get himself there, one day. –But not like this. Not like this. Achieved dreams were supposed to be happy, they were the American dream; and yet everything about this was a nightmare. The opportunity came to early, he wasn’t ready, he had no choice and he was paying for it.

Thankfully it had been easy to find the Detective, Adam like most of those on the force were able to spot him by his bike. It had just been luck that he had been the one to spot him and get him pulled over. Though instead of getting out the vehicle, Adam just pulled up beside the man, waiting for the other to lift his visor so he could be heard.
“Hey! No one has been able to get a hold of you! Captain sent out a small team of us to find you, —he’s looking for you. Better get your ass back to the station.”

“Believe it or not, I actually woke up like this,” he huffed, entertained by himself. The whole day he had been asked by peers who or what had caused the shiner to his eye, and each time he answered, it was the same. “I went out drinking last night, so that should say it all.” A ghost of a smile on his face.

“Shut up!” Adam nearly choked laughing as Alessio pointed to him across the room as Adam stepped into the venue. A cacophony of laughter followed the joke from the others, the question, if anyone had any handcuffs on them, arose as Adam made his way over to them. “I am never dressing up again for you guys.”
“Who needs romance? We’ve got cake.”

“Cheers to that!” he tipped his beer bottle towards Alessio as the cake was being passed around their group, others voicing their agreement to the statement. “Nice to see you made it on time,” he joked as Alessio moved to stand next to his seat as the group rearranged themselves to make room for him.

Adam gave a heavy sigh, tired as he worked to cut up his waffle. He could barely keep his eyes open, praying that the coffee would kick in soon and help keep him awake long enough to eat and get home. “Thank the gods that Denny’s is open this late.”

Whenever Adam’s weekend would finally come, he was basically dead to the world, and he imagined it was the same for Alessio. Adam might sleep the whole time and only wake up to eat, and other mundane necessities. “I have off after this next one. Thank god.”

after over a month away i’ve finally remembered my login info and come back here only to realize something: ale doesn’t have a good feel to him. looking back on what i’ve done now there’s a lot of things that don’t sit right and it’s almost enough to make me delete this blog and forget about him, but that also feels a little too much like giving up on him too soon. so i think what i’m going to do instead is end all of alessio’s current threads and queue up stuff i’d like to save like meme replies and shit. then i’m putting this boy on a hiatus. i don’t know for how long but i’m hoping i will eventually be back.
if we are in a mutual follow there’s a 99.2% chance i want to talk to you but im scared i will annoy you

“What? No. Pineapples are like the wonder drug of the food world. There’s something in them that makes black eyes heal faster.” It was a trick he’d picked up during his high school days. “A fresh one will have more of an impact then the canned stuff, so keep that in mind if you decide to try it.”
alessio is constantly asking his friends if they want to come over to his place for a bit or even stay the night because he's secretly afraid of being home alone when he has a panic attack.
