Mock-up of HOUNDUSK, envisioned through the Fusion Generator.
HOUNDUSK, The Hellhound Pokemon
Houndour evolve into this Dark/Ghost Tyaranese Regional Variant when the following conditions are met:
Maxed friendship.
Knows the move Shadow Ball.
Is currently a New Moon Phase.
Tyara revolves around a unique moon cycle mechanism that builds off prior games’ day/night cycles. Many particular Pokemon are only available during certain Moon Phases; certain evolutions and forme changes occur in response to these Phases, as well.

Ava, gang-mistress of the Dolls of Dusk, is now going indie.
She’s been repurposed to tie in with my own fan-region, Tyara. Reclaiming much of the same backstory, personality traits, and headcanons, the only significant changes are her birthplace/place of residence, and her team of Pokemon (Tyara’s regional Houndoom varient, Houndusk (Dark/Ghost), has been added to her line-up).
Please feel free to remain followers: I’ll be sharing bits about the Tyara region and the resident Pokemon that live there. But until then, enjoy Ava’s escapades as she searches beyond the seas of Tyara for her father, the missing detective Roman Shingetsu.
Send me 👪 to meet someone from my muse’s family!
Doesn’t just have to be parents, can be cousins, uncles, aunts, etc.!

✨I see a very playful relationship between these two, sort of as these neighboring kids who went their separate ways, with fate somehow reuniting them in the very same city. One growing up in (and never leaving) said city, the other finding themselves in experiences beyond the Primrose city limits.
Ava hasn’t kept many of her memories from years ago; but what she can remember is the comforting feeling of Bobert’s company, his easy-going personality in comparison to her more rash sensibilities, and that lingering, distant look of his, that had her always wondering what was on his mind.
Their age gap had placed them in separate friend groups as kids, and yet Ava still wanted to hang with the older kids, often trying to prove how tough she was in order to fit in. Although she’s surpassed even her own expectations of strength, Ava perhaps still feels like she has a lot to prove to the ‘ghosts of her past’.

As the audio cuts out, a smug grin crawls onto Yuki’s face she had faced more daunting gyms in her past. A dark maze felt like nothing at this point. Her hand holds the pokéball for her Garchomp, an understanding nod coming from the creature who she now faced.
“You may be good at tracking things, but I don’t think the darkness will help you. Let’s keep you safe in the ball for now.” On cue, Chomps is absorbed into the ball. Yuki’s hand carefully places it in its slot on her belt. She quickly jogs down into the dark maze, her hand grabbing the ball with her Espeon in it next.
As she lands in the maze, her determination practically explodes. If it were her Lucario she was sending out, her aura would have knocked the poor Pokémon off his feet. But it wasn’t, and she lets out Espeon instead.
“Alright, Espy! It’s time for you to help the team. I need you to lead me through this maze. Stay close and let your power flow!” Her little pep talk is responded to by a small but happy growl from Espeon as the psychic fox starts leading her through to their battle. Nothing in the rules said she couldn’t rely on her Pokémon to help her after all.
Espeon, herself, was an excellent aid. Every turn she made was accompanied by he staying close to Yuki’s legs so the woman could follow her. She even swapped legs to give a warning as to what way she was about to turn.
And all Yuki could do was trust that her Espeon was right.
“Yuki, is it?” Ava asks the screen chat of Gym Leaders, several of them relaying to her information on the newest challenger. The dark-type leader, typically busy with both her part-time job at the department store and as leader of her girl gang, often isn’t as in-the-know as the others when it comes to the new crop of strong trainers appearing around the Agron region.
The screen cuts black at the end of the video chat, leaving Ava back to relax in her swathe of darkness. The surveillance screens still show Yuki traversing the maze, with the help of her Espeon. "Interesting,” she comments to herself, her own Umbreon raising from the shadows to watch alongside its trainer.
She cuts on the intercom again, her voice booming throughout the factory.
“Good choice using a Psychic-type,” Ava cooes over the sound-system, eyes still trained on the duo moving through her labyrinth. “Most don’t even dare bringing them into a Dark-type Gym! You got guts.”
She watches as Yuki makes progress towards the exit, the Espeon guiding her with diligence. “Trust me though,” Ava’s voice echoes through the ceiling rafters, making a menacing acoustic out of her taunt. “Once you get through, there’s no goin’ easy on ya!” The mic cuts out again, Ava’s Umbreon nudging her leg in anticipation.
“Don’t you worry. I’m sure we’re gonna be in for a fun battle.~”

“We’re in!” Lacey whispers excitedly upon crossing the threshold, letting Ava tug her further into the mysterious nightclub. Her wide blue eyes adjust quickly to the flickering hues and dusky lighting of the interior, and to be honest, she’s a little disappointed–the dance floor is packed, Primrose partiers are raising half-full glasses, and the DJ (swathed in a neon glow) is remixing the latest hit radio single. Normally, Lacey would be all over this scene (even now, she finds herself striding to the thumping beat), but the reporter is fully-committed to an investigative adventure now…and finding anything ordinary is a little, well, boring.
However, a squeeze on her palm lets Lacey know that she’s not alone tonight, and a renewed pulse of electric excitement courses through her veins as she follows her League colleague up to a sectioned-off, smoky loft. The MPN reporter can see the glinting excitement and restlessness in Ava’s golden eyes, and has to grin in return. Action and adventure are never in short supply when the Primose Gym Leader is around…and tonight is probably no exception. She listens attentively to Ava’s battle plan, but has to bite her lip at the fellow Gym Leader’s suggested execution, finally planting her hands firmly on her hips.

“Keep your ass out of trouble!” Ava calls out, the electric reporter dashing away to the summits of the Netherworld club, like a bolt of literal lightning. Lacey’s Rotom-ized device whirrs and buzzes about the gang member’s head like a gnat, Ava’s expression one of glum indifference. “C’mon,” she calls up to the haunt, resigning to her fate. “Let’s see what they got to hide, huh?”
Poised, she paces into the lift, which with a heavy jolt, descends down to the dancefloor, opening into the last publicly-accessible level of the club. “This ain’t it,” she calls up to Rotom, the ghost immediately recognizing that glint in her eye. Flickering towards the buttons, Rotom lingers there, each of the floor numbers flashing wildly in response, until settling on B1. Another jolt, clank, and downward they go...
“Quite the trickster, aren’t ya?” Ava snickers, the Rotom seemingly delighted to be praised for its hacking abilities by the usually-apathetic blonde. Soon enough, their floor of destination spills out before them, dimly lit and seemingly vacant: good.
Despite her own prowess, back-up seems most logical in this moment. Within a flash, Krookodile appears by their sides, reptilian eyes trained sharp ahead. They move forward, ground quaking above them as the night continues to rage on, club-goers unrelenting in their element. Cutting corners, Ava notices several doors lining the hallways, each seemingly occupied based on the noises rising from within them. The hairs stand at the back of her neck, leading up to the sudden and threatening sound of a door opening behind her back...

“……Yeah? Gotta say it does make me a bit cool doesn’t it? Course…I miss the depth perception and being able to see things out of it, but sometimes I’d say it’s a pretty solid exchange.”
Bobert liked to think he looked pretty cool. Not that he was some kind of narcissist or something…and to be honest the eyepatch did get in the way. More importantly it made him more recognizable and easy to find.
…Tsk there he goes again. His mind wandering towards his shady lifestyle, the fear of getting caught, and getting recognized. He couldn’t even just sit down, relax, and talk with someone? Maybe he wasn’t allowed that luxury anymore.

A smile dims, and for but a quick second there, Ava recognizes a longing sense behind Bobert’s gaze. Or, at least, one she only assumes to be longing. There’s no telling what this particular ghost from her past is feeling behind his calm facade, but she can only assume it’s the result of the years separating their last encounter.
“Yeah?”
“I don’t like to think I’ve changed all that much,” she swings from her perch, back onto wet cement. Gravel and litter kick up beneath her heel, her eyes unwavering, but not without their signature menace. “Aside from gettin’ stronger that is.”
Perhaps she had grown in character as well, over her overarching arc of young-adulthood. But, little other that her battling prowess was there to show for it. Having little else finite enough to show growth over the years was a sore spot for Ava; she always felt lacking, in some way or another.
Shuffling in place, she picks up on the house beats reverberating from within the party, which still sounded far from over. “S’pose we got all night to catch up, eh?” She flashes an enticing wink, a half-smile, the chilly night air wrapping around each of her breaths. “C’mon, we can check out the apartment buildin’ here. Heard their roof-top set up is pretty sweet!”

✨there’s a very sun/moon contrast between these two that acts as a cool foil, what with Ava’s natural defiance, and Lacey’s pure earnestness. Even still, they’re both incredibly prone to antics and seeking thrills, both impulsive to a fault. Ava humors Lacey in a way, not only because she’s entertaining, but because she’s refreshing to be around. At first glance, there’s very little in common, but beneath the surface, they’ve more similarities than differences. Lowkey, Lacey’s segments are Ava’s favorite parts of the news; it was where she first came to recognize the foreigner, and proceeded their first meeting at the League. Although Ava wasn’t sure she’d take to the energetic Galarian who was now a neighbor Gym Leader, she quickly warmed up to the fighting spirit behind Lacey’s ambitions, and developed a protective sense she has for all her girls.

“…..”
Bobert nervously glanced around the moment Ava spoke up, as several party-goers turned his way. Dammit he never was comfortable when people started to pay attention to him. Whether it was because of the job or because of something else…he wasn’t entirely sure.
He forced himself to turn his attention back to Ava who to his surprise did apparently recognize and remember who he was. That was quite the surprise considering the time that had passed.
It was kind of embarrassing.
“Man, does time fly. You look hella old now,”
A big o’l smile stretched across his face when Ava poked fun at him.

“Hah, you got me there,” she snickers with the old acquaintance at the mention of her height, something that an odd ten-or-so-years-ago would’ve resulted in an ass whooping. It is sort of nice, being able to take a hit; age had done wonders for the girl, today a confident young woman, far removed from the aimless young delinquent of yesteryear.
“Ahh... I-I see,” she bites back a bit, holding her tongue for once in her life, when Bobert points to the eyepatch. “'’Course, I have questions, but...” she saunters in place, sipping leisurely from her cup as the battle onlookers disperse in search for the next slice of amusement. “Didn’t wanna pick. I think it looks really dope, actually.”
She swings up onto a fair escape with the finesse of a Mankey, her pigtails draping over shoulders as she leans over the railing, eyes still glittering gold. “You went on out there, got super super strong, and turned into a bad-ass, huh? You used to be so soft, man! Bet you could probably take me on now, though.”
She kids aloud, but ponders the difference seven years can have on someone. That very distance in time was enough to wipe many of her memories, such as most of those from seven years ago. Only faint recollections now. Small signifiers that any world had proceeded that of the present one.

A Battle of Dark and Darker
Yuki didn’t quite care about much more than winning this next gym battle. Her team being well rounded had helped her with two gyms already, now it was time for a third. Walking up to the Primrose gym was the easy part. Beside her stood her most trusted partner in Chomps the Garchomp and five other pokéballs sat on her waist.
She was ready. She was unafraid. At least until that side came out of her in battle. Her own psyche had always scared her, but right now wasn’t the time to worry about it.
Her right hand finds it way to rub the lower back of Chomps as the gym doors open.
There’s something innocent and unassuming about the girl as she enters. Her typical bubbly personality coming out as she speaks to... well anyone who would listen.
“Hey! I’m looking for the gym leader. I’m here to challenge ‘em! Isn’t that right, Chomps?” As if on cue, the Garchomp lets out a roar of support. Yuki follows up with a laugh of confidence as she walks further into the gym, not knowing what to expect from the dark type leader.
Her figurative bells sounded, upon hearing of a new challenger in Primrose. Word in the streets is that the newest opponent for the Umbra Badge had already vanquished two other Gyms, and done so with flying colors. Taking such knowledge with a certain level of dignity, Ava awaits within her Gym’s darkest recesses, alerted the moment the newcomer steps forth.
“Ey there, trainer,” Ava calls over the booming intercom system. “Seems like ya made it all the way here, huh. Congrats on that.”
“Lucky day for you: my Gym challengers are all away, doin’ their own things.”
Even with the Gym being empty but for it’s leader, the ‘doll of dusk’ knew that the challenge was all still there: her arena, situated far beneath the ground, is at the end of a daunting maze, filled with turns and twists and more shadows than there is light. Not just anyone could navigate her dungeon, not without a certain level of tenacity.
“Looks like you’ll just have to consider the dark your first challenge,” her voice echoes throughout the abandoned factory, her eyes still trained via television screen on the opponent awaiting above ground. “Make it down the stairwells and find me, if you can...heh.”
“Good luck-” her audio feed cuts out, eyes still hanging on her visitor’s first move. Oh, how she loved the anticipation!
