How to Calm Anxiety When Everything Feels Overwhelming
I’ve noticed on here a lot of dolls struggle with anxiety too and it's not just me. Whether it’s social anxiety, overthinking, or just feeling overwhelmed by life. I get it. I’ve been there too, and honestly? Some days are harder than others. For example, today I needed to hide in the school bathroom for 40 minutes to calm down after panicking over an exam.
But over time, I’ve found ways to make those moments a little easier to handle. If your heart feels heavy and your mind won’t stop racing, maybe these can help:
Breathe Like You Mean It
It sounds simple, but when anxiety kicks in, we forget to breathe properly. Try this: Inhale slowly through your nose for four seconds, hold it for four, and then exhale for four. It might sound too simple and kinda stupid but trust me. Do this a few times until your shoulders relax and your body starts to feel less tense. It’s like hitting a reset button on your nervous system!
Create a Comfort Routine
When I’m anxious, I go back to small things that make me feel safe. Like putting on a cozy hoodie, drinking tea, or playing my favorite playlist. Having a routine like this helps ground you and gives your mind something familiar to hold onto. (Listening to mother Lana's songs slowed version always works wonders~) ⋆. 𐙚 ˚
Talk to Yourself Like a Friend
I used to be so mean to myself in my head, and I didn’t even realize it! Pay attention to your thoughts. Would you say those things to someone you love? If not, rewrite them. Instead of “I’m so awkward,” try “I’m learning to be comfortable with myself.” The way we talk to ourselves matters so much!!
Step Outside
(even if it’s just for a minute)
Anxiety makes you want to stay in bed all day, but fresh air really does help! Open a window, go for a short walk, or just sit outside for a bit. Feeling the sun on your skin, and listening to the wind... It's a small reminder that the world is bigger than our worries sometimes. 𖹭

This one took me forever to learn, but sometimes, the best way to deal with anxiety is to stop fighting it. Instead of panicking about feeling anxious, try telling yourself: “Okay, I feel like this right now, but it won’t last forever.” The more you accept it, the faster it fades.

I know anxiety can make you feel like you’re the only one struggling, but trust me you’re not. So many of us deal with it, even if we don’t talk about it all the time. I still struggle with believing this fact sometimes too. But always remember this: You’re not broken, and there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re just human, and that’s okay.

create a “no” list
write down things you’re absolutely saying no to in 2025, like overworking, toxic relationships or procrastinating and respect your boundaries.
unsubscribe from things that don’t add value
this goes from e-mails, streamings and services to beliefs, commitments, addictions, habits and everything that drain your energy and no longer makes sense to you.
set small, realistic goals
big and vague goals are harder to achieve. we all did at least once some megalomaniac goals that we didn’t achieved because they were too unrealistic to that moment. instead, set goals that you can achieve to fulfill your sense of accomplishment and actually accomplish something.
have a pre-reset day before 2025
disconnect from your phone for a couple hours and journal about what you’re leaving behind and what you’re welcoming in this new year. align with yourself and what you want and deserve. meditate about the vibe you want from now on.
give yourself permission to change
we often stay stuck in old versions of ourselves, so let this new year be the year you let go of outdated expectations you (or society) put into yourself. change your mind! take risks! start over!
redesign you bedroom
if you can, change up your bedroom (or any room you can/want) to create a space that feels fresh and motivating for the new year, like adding fairy lights, plants, move your bed and desk, create a functional corner to study/work. any small changes can make a big difference in how you feel at home.
prioritize! mental! health!
because a strong foundation in health, specially mental health in this era, is essential and boosts every other part of your life. try to live slower, don’t overconsume in social medias, don’t overshare, do therapy, take your meds/vitamins, journal about your feelings, have a trusting person you can always vent to and get help.
My goals for 100 day reinvention
My college is starting in Fall and I was thinking of doing this once my sem has started but these day all I do is slack at home so I thought why not make a good use of it. Also been inactive on tumblr for a long time, now its time to resume tumblr.
Health- 20 minutes daily exercise, eat healthy, sleep before 10pm, wake up before 5:30am, walk 8k-10k steps daily.
Mental health - do meditation daily, don't be on phone more than 30 minutes a day, do journal.
Hobby- Read a book per month, blog 3 times a week, watch one movie per month.
Social life- check on my friends regularly, talk with new people, join and participate in clubs in college, argue as less as possible (lol).
Acaedmics- score 9+ cgpa, spend 15-20 hours a weekon learning programming outside class, work on a skill that I can make money of atleast 25 minutes a day or 3 hours a week, complete assignment as soon as I am assigned, train myself to study for longer hours.

So I've been hearing that blogs have been getting anons that cry about the law and whine about it's not real. You know, basic limited loser behavior..
Anyways, personally i have not received any of this losers but if i did, i will personally not give a shit and won't even believe that their real in the first place.
But after giving it some thought, i hope you guys are aware and remind yourself that you're here to convince yourself and you only.
The only one who serves you is you, so who cares about a nobody that does not have any matter of the world that you create?

Stop giving away your power by letting what others think of you, define you. People’s perceptions of you hold no value unless you allow it. If you don’t agree with how others see you, create you own narrative and start defining yourself.
Shift your mindset from needing validation, to knowing who you are. Don’t walk into the room thinking “I wonder what they think of me.” Walk into the room thinking “I don’t mind what they think of me. I know who I am. I am the best.”
And sure, this mindset may seem like arrogance but it is far better than craving approval or trying to explain yourself to others.
