"Being killed is an occupational hazard."
āWould that the same logic applied to my foes,ā she mused wryly, āalas, the enemies I face often have a problem staying dead.ā
"There's no such thing as forgiveness. People just have short memories."
āPerhaps not forgiveness,ā she began, ābut I do believe in people letting go of their hatred. Iāve seen it happen, after allā¦Iāve seen how vengeance does nothing but devour, leaving naught but an empty shell of the person that once was. Iāve seen vengeance wreak havoc on nations, on familiesā¦and I saw how one man, so consumed by vengeance he was little else without it, finally let go.ā
"You're making this a lot harder than it needs to be."
āUnhand me, you wretch!ā Natsuki wailed, pathetically slapping at the stranger. She was dressed in a very expensive-looking travelerās kimono, with a veiled hat the likes of which was worn by noblewomen of the Far East, in Yangxia and Hingashi especially.
A disguise, of course, as any good shinobi had, but this stranger didnāt need to know that. No, she wanted to discern his motives and his origin first. His eyes struck her the most, the unusual shades being something she had never encountered before.
āWhen my father finds out about this, heāll have your head!ā Acting the part of the spoiled princess came naturally to her; kami knew she had been around enough of them to learn their mannerisms. Combined with her actual upbringing as a samuraiās daughter, it let her cast off suspicion with ease.
Curious Sentences, Vol. 5
(Sentences from various sources for muses that are curious about each other. Adjust phrasing where needed)
"This doesn't seem to be bothering you. Why is that?"
"Will you be offended if I ask you something?"
"What are you doing sitting here all by yourself?"
"You must have been scared of something when you were young?"
"I take it you have never been in love?"
"Do you think we're reunited with loved ones when we die?"
"Are there others like you?"
"Do you carry a knife everywhere now?"
"If you only had one day to live, what would you do?"
"If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you like to be?"
"If you could change something in your life, anything at all, what would it be?"
"So, what are you running from?"
"What's your favourite book? You do read, right?"
"Could I have ever understood you?"
"Why do you want to be boring?"
"Have you ever been kissed by a man?"
"Why can't you go home? What happened to you there?"
"Why do you wear those gloves?"
"Not fond of eye contact, are you?"
"Do you ever think of me?"
"Do you find me unsettling?"
"How is it you seem to know more than I do?"
"Don't you want life to be exciting?"
"What do you want more than anything?"
"Who is he to you that makes you want to risk everything for him?"
"Is it all mankind you despise, or just men?"
"Tell me, would you ever say "stop" to me?""
"You have an interesting accent. Where are you from exactly?"
"How many hearts have you broken in your life?"
"Do you have a family?"
"What's that supposed to do?"
"Haven't you ever done anything stupid just for fun?"
"What were you like as a young man?"
"What do you want from your life, anyway?"
"Why are you so afraid to succeed?"

I CANāT PICK A GLAMOOOOOOR
domanlotusā:
Natsukiās brow twitched in annoyance. āWell, I had thought that you were in some kind of trouble. You appeared to be in distress.ā
Folding her arms, she frowned. Thatās what she got for being a Good Samaritan. āYou should be more careful. Youāre liable to trip someone.ā
Sighing, Kohāi leaned back and folded his arms behind his head so he could rest up against the wall. He didnāt quite care for this womanās presence, and he shrugged his shoulders in response to her words.
āIf I needed help, Iād have asked for it.Ā āSides, itās All Saintās Wake, half the cityās gonna be dead from full bellies soon enough.ā
Her nagging earned a small scoff, but little other reaction.
āTell that to all the people Iāve tripped already - which is none. Twelveās sake you sound like my mum..ā
Natsuki did not care for this manās tone. At all.
Puffing her cheeks, she glared. āWell! Youāre about the rudest person Iāve ever had the displeasure of meeting! I was only trying to help, you know!ā
Shaking her head, she huffed. āKami have mercy, and this day was going so well. I just. Ugh!ā
domanlotusā:
What a strange holiday this was.
People dressed in all manner of costume, being handed out various sweetsā¦it was kind of fun, but definitely very foreign to the Raen woman.
Natsuki strode through the area, dressed as a witch and carrying her own haul of sweets when she spotted the Miqoāte seemingly in some kind of distress. Approaching, she raised a brow at him.
āAre you alright?ā
Most were content to leave the poor man be, though when the voice spoke out to him, he took a long moment to actually respond. He did so with the twitch of an ear and a soft, chirpy hum, before purple eyes opened slowly. He sat up slightly to address the woman before him with a curious twitch of his brow.
āā¦Yeah. Just ate too much at the festival.ā He answered as his tail curled up into his lap.Ā ā..You make a habit of botherinā people while theyāre napping?ā
Natsukiās brow twitched in annoyance. āWell, I had thought that you were in some kind of trouble. You appeared to be in distress.ā

help ! i was vulnerable and i canāt take it back !!
āā¦ā
He was laid out on a stone ledge, tail twitching and flicking as he rested there with a soft groan.
Too many sweets. Kohāi was in a food coma. Poor thing.
What a strange holiday this was.

domanlotusā:
That was not unusual. The empire frequently came into villages and snatched up workers to prevent a resistance from forming.
After several long moments, Natsuki lowered her blade. āVery well. We shall rescue them.ā
Her eyes narrowed. āKnow this, however. If you are lying, and leading me into a trap, I will cut you down before you have the chance to even blink.ā
If it was a trap, Natsuki would go down fighting. But if he spoke the truth, then those people needed their help. Her hatred was not so unreasonable that she would knowingly put innocent lives in danger. She would apologize later.
āā¦I am Natsuki. Natsuki of the Obinata clan.ā
It seemed his words managed to get through to her. That was good. Ryce lowered his own blade and met her cold stare. With a small flourish, he sheathed his blade and turned his head up the hill. Where he was certain that they would have been taken.
āā¦Call me Ryce. Iād say itās a pleasure but that remains to be seen.ā He had had better greetings from strangers, certainly. Though none so bad that a blade would be pulled the moment he was in sight.
āThis way.ā He added, then moved to head up the path, where he was told the citizens would be rounded up. As it was, there were already more present than there had originally been taken. Theyād free more tonight than anticipated.
Theyād go home under cover of the storm.
Finally sheathing her own katana, Natsuki nodded, and followed Ryce.
True to his word, there were the citizens.
Frowning, she looked at the Xaela. āAlright, so you speak the truth. Now, whatās the plan?ā He had pulled her into this, after all, so she may as well follow his lead. Natsuki was best at one thing; killing. But this seemed like a mission of more delicate nature, and she wasnāt equipped for it currently.
āHow are we going to get them out of here?ā
@kolak-magiya
Natsuki Obinata wiped the blood from her blade as the last Garlean fell. The downpour had worsened, and lightning crashed in the skies above Yanxia. Her wide-brimmed hat cast a shadow over her face, hiding the expression of pure hatred as she looked upon the fallen bodies of the imperials.
They had put up a fight, but had been no match for the Raen woman.
Scanning the area, she spotted another in the black and gold armor of the Empire, and the fires of hate again rose in her heart. Must have missed one, she thought. Taking up a stance with her katana, she charged at the figure, making no effort to conceal herself, and leapt at them with her blade raised.
āDIE, GARLEAN SCUMā!ā
domanlotusā:
This one was, at the very least, better trained than the rest.
His words gave her pause, but she remained skeptical. Pushing off of his blade and leaping backwards, she put a small amount of distance between them. Natsuki kept her guard up as she glared at him from beneath her hat.
A flash of lightning illuminated the face beneath it, aqua eyes narrowed in rage and hate.
āLies to save yourself? What proof do you have?ā she demanded, pointing her katana at the stranger.
The man before her had certainly been through quite a bit, if his broken horn was anything to go by. And it WAS unusual for a Xaela to be among Garlemaldās ranks. But not impossible.
She had heard nothing about refugees, and she had certainly not heard about any attempts to help them. āWhat refugees? Answer!ā
The same flash of lightning illuminated his features - furrowed brows in a scowl as she faced the woman with his own similar blade gripped in a similar hold. He held a natural hate toward the empire, but it seemed that her hate was easy to blind her. He had to choose his steps carefully.
āIāve no proof save the truth of my word and the scar on my face.ā He retorted, keeping his stance.
āA troop came into town and rounded up some of the folk into this encampment. If the others come back tā corpses then thereās nobody but the other folk in town to blame. Theyāll be stormed 'fore anyone knows whatās going on.ā
Lowering his stance slightly, he stared her down, eyes dangerous.Ā
āTheyāre being kept a bit further in.ā

It was just some spy work, to assist in aiding some refugees. The storm made it easier. His tall, imposing form in the dark storm made it easy to either trick or intimidate the Empire figures into his comradeās waiting blades. Things were going to plan - until he heard a shout over the sound of distant rumbling thunder.
Ryce froze, for a split second. He and his comrade werenāt killing the Empire, simply detaining them with poisoned darts to induce sleep.Ā
Her blade was coated in blood. She was here to kill.
And her blade was turned toward him - he who was dressed in Empire garb.
Ryce tensed, hand movements shifting toward his hip. In the blink of an eye and a flash of light, Ryceās Monk arms were replaced with a blade of his own which was drawn int he same movement and slashed in an upward arc to meet hers.
The shrill ringing of metal rang between them both, showering sparks around.
āStay your blade!Ā āM not one ofĀ āem!ā He hissed at her, willing his helmet to vanish to reveal lavender skin, mismatched eyes, and a thick scar above the brow of his blue eye. Additionally, his left horn was notably missing, the stump of it hidden under dark locks of hair that went past his shoulders.
āThey got a hold of some refugees down thā way. Killinā these folk arenāt going tā help anyone. Save it for another fight, lady!ā
This one was, at the very least, better trained than the rest.

Iām making an executive decision.
Natsuki is proficient in both ninja and samurai styles of combat. She can wield daggers and katana just as well.

Is anyone else having lag issues on the PS4 version of FFXIV? Ever since 5.35?
I really need some advice/help, because the game is completely unplayable. My latency is horrific, and it didnāt start until 5.35. It was completely fine before.
Please, anyone who knows anything about it. I donāt think itās my internet, because other games work just fine.
Gonna try deleting and reinstalling.
I really hope I still have all my xpacs, because so far it only says I have the base game and Heavensward downloading.
GAWD itās still downloading.
I stg if itās not fixed after this I donāt know what else to do.
Everything SHOULD still be there, right?
All I did was delete it off my PS4 and started redownloading and installing it. My account says I have everything.
Aaaaaand Iām still having problems.
Tried turning down my graphics and it helped marginally.
I donāt know what else to do. Iām 90% itās not my internet, because this didnāt start happening until 5.35.
I sent in a support ticket.
Donāt know if itāll do any good, but itās worth a shot. I just want to be able to play again.
Ugh. Maybe itāll be fixed next patch. I donāt know.
My connection used to be āExcellentā right up until 5.35. Now this is what Iām getting.
Is anyone else dealing with this?
