Dominik Vronsky was the second born to Alexi and Yulia Vronsky, the heads of what he would one day learn to be a very powerful family. His adolescence wasn’t terrible, for he never wanted for anything -- his parents ensuring he and his siblings received the best of the best in every aspect of their lives. When it came to the food they ate, to the clothes on their back, the extra-curricular activities and even their education -- privileged was an understatement. And yet the one thing Dominik longed for was a father figure, something he would never be graced with no matter how hard he tried. While the first born seemed to have an natural ability to exceed in everything he did, Dominik went about it in the complete opposite way. The designated private school class clown, while the male’s grades were satisfactory his attitude was anything but, which often meant he spent hours in detention or subsequently was suspended. But no matter how many times it happened, his father didn’t seem to bat an eyelid, instead all he received was disappointment from his mother.
While living the life of the 1% from the outside looking in seemed luxurious and exciting, for Dominik it was exhausting. Being forced to attend social gatherings and events in which his father all but used them as a tool to gain further support, to train day and night to become every bit of the warrior that his brother was and their father and his father before him --- it was all relatively monotonous. To the outside world his father was a golden businessman and to add family man to that was to put him on a pedestal so few managed to reach. A rather ugly lie. Behind the scenes it almost felt like Yulia Vronsky was desperately trying to shower her children with enough love to make up for the lack of presence of her husband all the while attempting to shelter them from life in the public eye. Sure Dominik loved his mother and his father despite his lack of actually being a father, but as he got older each interaction began to feel more like a business deal than it did a simple conversation between family. The second eldest never resented them for their parenting, but he did long for a family that didn’t treat him as such. He wanted nothing more than to get out from underneath his fathers thumb. Which was why the first chance he got to leave he took and traveled across the country to attend Yale University majoring in international relations and political science.
Given he had grown up with the best of educational tutors, Dominik had no struggles with maintaining his grades and was quick to take the coveted top of the class space. With his career ahead looking bright, things only continued to fall into place when his father tasked him with a position within the Connecticut charter of the Bratva. The male instead of utilizing the power and respect that came with his last name, instead went by a name of his own name Dominik Luka. And as the first few years flew by the male very quickly came to realize that he didn’t just excel in politics, he very well had the gift of the gab with it. His superpower was his words and his profound ability to influence those around him. It started amongst his peers, before it spread to his position within the Connecticut charter. And before he knew it several years had passed by and he was working for the Governor of NYC by day and by night continued his work as an advisor to the head of the NYC Bratva charter. He was on cloud nine. In a world built by his own success, not that of his father’s or brothers. Nevertheless, only one thing surpassed his need to create his own life and that was the lives and wellbeing of his family. And when he got the call to advise there had been an attempt on his younger brothers life, he did what he knew any member of the Vronsky family would, he heeded that call; leaving behind the life he had so carefully concocted. It was time for Dominik Luka to meet Dominik Vronsky. War was coming and his family needed him above all else, but it didn’t mean he would stop on his path to his own success, no. What better way than to join the Mayoral campaign, endorsed by his former colleagues and with the nod from what many Chicago natives knew as one of, if not the most powerful family in the entire state.
