The weapons he’s breaking were evil the entire time, and didn’t want to scare people by saying weapon demons have invaded.

I mean think about it! If we knew that weapons were being possessed by demons, nobody would use them anymore, and our defenses would suffer! The entirety of Erinn would collapse as the weapon demons tear open our strongholds.

So Ferghus took it upon himself to kill the demons before they could invade. But to make sure paranoia didn’t spread, he acted as if he accidentally broke the weapons himself.

This man is a hero, and we mocked him for it.
