I flew in a hot-air balloon over Luxor's valley of the kings and queens yesterday morning. The stunning views and sense of serenity are really quite special. I can't recommend it enough.

Sunsets stir emotions and this one on Turtle Island in #Borneo evoked many. Moments later when it got dark we walked the beach spotting giant sea turtles as they came to nest from distant oceans, thousands of miles away. On such a remote island budding with life, it's easier to feel connected and to understand there's far more to life than we can readily perceive. #t (at Turtle Island, Borneo)

One of the many blessings of climbing is the ability to rise above the clouds on your own steam. There is great learning in that. And as you find your own greatness you also encounter deep humility with the realization that you're a mere speck in creation. It's hard to take yourself seriously after that. On the #summit of Mount #Kinabalu in #Borneo, the highest point in South East Asia, doing research for @WildGuanabana. This is a beautiful 2-day climb through lush rain forest and beautiful granite formations. After getting back to training recently with @trainforaim it felt good to make it the top first despite setting off last, but at 425am it's still pitch black and you miss the view!
