good morning gamers it's time to build the actual train
for those who missed it, I'm liveblogging my build of set number 60470 "Explorer Train". here's the final version of the first post, where I built all the trackside accessories and looked at their functions
💬 4 🔁 43 ❤️ 35 · and that's a wrap! on everything that isn't the train that is while I guess the little mine offshoot is kinda fun, I rea
because that post got WAYYYY too long, I think I'm gonna split the rest up by booklet/build. so this post will be just on the engine, then I'll make a new one on the first railcar, and then a new one for the final railcar and final booklet in the set
I will tag all the final versions of each post with "#set liveblog: 60470" so anyone checking it out later will have a concise way of viewing everything, without having to scroll through duplicate reblogs one morbillion times. every post will still be tagged with "lego set liveblog" for categorization though
that was a lot of words. let's get to building!!

During my vacation in the Alps, I took the opportunity to do a few photo shoots with my Lego figures, making the most of the stunning natural scenery. With crystal-clear streams, majestic peaks, and lush forests as the backdrop, it was the perfect setting to bring these little creations to life in the great outdoors. Thewide-open spaces added a unique vibe to the photos 🌿✨
From a more technical side, working with natural light in such environments was both a challenge and a joy. The sunlight filtering through the trees or reflecting off the water created some amazing effects, but also required careful attention to shadows and angles. I had to adapt quickly to changing light conditions, making the most of the soft, diffused light during golden hour for some of the shots, while using the harsher midday sun for more dramatic contrasts.
Overall, it was a fun experiment in balancing natural elements with photography techniques!
