Kief

Ever wonder what’s that’s super crystalized, sticky, powder on cannabis buds?

When you grind your weed or tear it apart with your fingers. That green leftover residue on your fingers and the bottom of your grinder is called Kief or dry sift.

Kief is the resin glands which contain terpenes and cannabinoids that makes cannabis so unique.

Resin glands are the white hairs on the cannabis flower. Also called trichomes.

Many plants and algae have external trichomes for evolutionary purpose, some rely on trichomes to trap their prey, others like cannabis use them as a deterrent to herbovires

Trichomes on the cannabis plant keep away hungry herbivores by producing an intense psychoactive experience, theoretically disorienting the animal and preventing it from eating the rest of the plant. The resin’s strong, distinct odor also attracts pollinating insects and predators, which might keep herbivore populations at bay.

If you have a generous amount of Kief, here’s what you can do with it.

- Pack it in your bowl, on top of your bud so it can enhance the high.

- Sprinkle Kief in your joint or blunt

- Make hash

- Make moon-rocks

- Press rosin

Hash - One of the first steps of making hash is extracting kief, as hash is basically just kief that has been heated and pressurized to form a soft, green ball. Applying heat and pressure to kief changes its composition by rupturing the resin glands. Once the kief ruptured, the overall taste and effects of the product are slightly different. Pressurizing kief also darkens its color the more pressure you apply, the darker the hash becomes.

Moon-Rocks - Moonrocks are top quality nugs covered in oil and rolled in kief. These glorious cannabis specimens are very high potency and can be considered a quick DIY concentrate. Moonrocks are relatively easy to make if you have the materials. Gently heat your oil of choice and liberally coat your buds. Sprinkle kief over still-warm buds, or dredge buds in a kief bath using tongs. Let harden, then enjoy them by breaking them up by hand and sprinkling them into your bowl (avoid using a grinder if possible, as a grinder will break them up too finely and defeat the purpose of creating your moonrock).

Press Rosin - Rosin is a rising star in the world of cannabis concentrates for its solventless extraction methods and preservation of cannabinoids. This process is usually done with flower, but higher yields and potency can be achieved by pressing kief. The at-home method involves a hair straightener and a vice, while professional methods incorporate high-pressure press.

Let’s talk about Sativa vs Indica ! What’s your favorite strain? Do you like to be upbeat and moving around or do you like to chill and relax all day?

The two major types of cannabis out there are Indica and Sativa. They each have their own range of effects on the body and mind.

Cannabis Indica - Indica plants are short and bushy with wide leaves. They grow faster and have a higher yield than Sativa. Medicine by Indica plants have a higher CBD and lower THC count.

Qualities of Indica Strain

- Sedating

- Muscle relaxation

- Increase in appetite

- Decrease in nausea

- Body buzz

- Increase dopamine

- Best for Night time use - (at home)

Cannabis Sativa - Sativa plants are total opposites from Indica, the plants grow very tall and thin with narrow leaves. Sativa plants are also a lighter shade of green while Indica plants stay a darker shade of green. Sativa Plants takes longer to grow, mature and need more light. Medicine from a Sativa Plant have lower CBD and higher THC counts.

Let’s ask the golden question here..

Is Hemp the same as Marijuana?

.. No.

They are both part of the Cannabis family but they are Not the same.

Marijuana is used recreationally and medically, while Hemp is used as everything else.

Hemp Plant

The cannabis family has several different breeds, but it’s mostly know for Marijuana and Hemp, this is the main reason people often get the 2 confused.

Hemp refers to non-psychoactive and industrial, it’s mostly cultivated for fiber, Hurd and seeds.

The seeds have many uses it can be eaten raw, made into a meal, milk, protein powder and pressed into making hemp oil.

Hemp oil is great for salads, body products and used in many arts and crafts projects plus a whole lot more, Hemp can used in hundreds and thousands of different ways.

Resin

Who here has heard / tried resin? If you haven’t. Good, If you have well.. we all do it once or twice.

Ever had a pipe / bong that you hit so many times and you look inside it and it looks black and oily and gross? That ladies and gentlemen it’s called Resin.

Ever been out of weed, low on money and super bored and just plain don’t know what the hell to do? Then your like what the hell so you go to your stash, break out your pipe/bong and start clearing and smoking all the resin, it’s all good. We’ve all been there.. but what the hell is it?

Resin - Resin is the exact opposite of BHO Live Resin. What’s live resin?

BHO Live resin is a hydrocarbon solvent processing technique, however, instead of relying on dried and cured bud or dried trim. Live resin used freshly harvested buds. Those buds are plucked of the plant, and quickly frozen. By doing this, the cannabis plant retains its terpene profile, thus retaining the plants original flavor and fragrance.

For example - Hash, wax, oils, Concentrates etc.

Resin has a lot less THC than actual buds. Much of the THC will combust when you light the herb. With that said, I know from personal experience that it will get you high. But, it’s going to take a LOT resin to get the same high as the real stuff.

Smoking, in general, is bad for your respiratory system. I don’t know anyone who would argue that statement. Resin (not BHO Live Resin) ; however, can be far more harmful than your typical buds.

What does resin mostly consist of?

It’s mostly tar.. yep tar. There is also ash and carbon monoxide mixed in there. Smoking tar is bad for you, no doubt about it. Just a friendly reminder that you can toke up in many different ways and there are ways to be healthy about it. Use filters and water bongs with extra chambers to make it better on your body, or even a delicious way of enjoy a good high is Edibles! So many choices of edibles it’s crazy. Create your own to add to the list of delicious ways of using cannabis!

Benefits of Children using Cannabis

There’s quite a controversy of children using cannabis, quite a large percentage of the population is against children using cannabis. But the question remains as to why? Why is Children using Cannabis such a large taboo in the world ?

Now don’t make it seems as I’m saying that children should go outside to smoke a doobie whenever they feel down. Cause nope 🚫 that’s not right at all.

The Medical Benefits of Cannabis should be something all children have access to.

Children with Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Epileptic Seizures, Deformities, Illness, Disease, Extreme weight loss due to AIDS/HIV virus and Cancer.

Living in America where laws and doctors who do not recommend cannabis for children makes it hard when your dealing with a sick child. You have the choice and the right to treat yourself and your child how you see fit, but the obstacles makes it hard to do so. Especially hearing stories about how moms and dads are literally going to jail for Treating their own child with CBD and it made them 90+% better! Well that’s just madness.

Why make it so hard for you treat your own child that way, when it’s safer and natural. Rather than have you pump your child full of poison, radiation, and pain medication, why not offer you all the benefits and products of THC and CBD for children

Parents don’t have to go through the extremes of moving to different states and uprooting their lives for the benefits of CBD for their child, or spending their entire lives savings just going back and forth for treatment because their states doesn’t offer that care.

Oils, lotions, creams, food etc.. with CBD-CBC properties can make the life of your Child and yourself better, peaceful, calmer and more importantly less painful.

What is THC and is it good?

Most, if not all of us know what THC is but we really know what it is? Like what it does to us and why? Let dig deeper inside

THC: Tetrahydrocannabinol

THC is a cannabinoid but what is a cannabinoid? To understand THC let’s get a better understanding of Cannabinoids.

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant that interact with receptors in the brain and body to produce psychedelics effects. There are dozens, and potentially more than 100 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, but THC is most widely known among these due to its abundance and psychoactive attributes.

Who found out about THC?

Thank you to Raphael Mechoulam an Israeli chemist who, in 1964, Mechoulam isolated and synthesized THC from Lebanese hashish, marking the beginning of cannabis research that would lead to the discovery of many other cannabinoids, cannabinoid receptors throughout the body, and “endocannabinoids” – the THC-like compounds our body naturally produces to maintain stability and health.

Why does cannabis produce cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are known as secondary metabolites, which means they are chemicals the plant produces that have no primary role on the plant’s development. However, the leading hypothesis is that secondary metabolites act as an immune system for the plant, fending off predators, parasites, and pests.

Because humans (and many other animals) have receptor systems that THC binds to, we can also reap the benefits of cannabinoids for both health and enjoyment. This system, called the endocannabinoid system, is a group of specialized signaling chemicals (think “keys”), their receptors (think “locks”), and the metabolic enzymes that produce and break them down. These endocannabinoid chemical signals act on some of the same brain and immune cell receptors (CB1 and CB2) that plant cannabinoids like cannabidiol (CBD) and Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) act on.

Simply put, cause I know understanding all that has you thinking like what the hell are they saying?

Have you ever ordered hemp wick online just to see what the hell is this awesome hemp wick and what’s all the fuss about it? I’m sure many of you have cause I did it not to long ago, I’m just trying out what Cannabis and all it’s benefits has to offer.

Hemp wick looks like a ball of waxy and sticky twine it has a very earthy smell to it just like beeswax, every since I’ve started lighting my weed with the wick instead hitting those fumes from the lighter into my bowl, I feel a hell of a lot better and it actually taste so much better with the wick.

Little life changes using Hemp/Cannabis can improve your health and your life by a lot. It may not seem like it’s not doing much but I’m saying it is. Trust me I’m not asking you to believe me but I am giving you my advice to try and make little changes to your life for the Better with little life changes.
