As the year's end approaches, the cold winds bring frost and snow, and the season of warm drinks, crackling fires, and cozy blankets has arrived. We've all accomplished so much this past year, and now it's time to sit back and relax...
But what's this? You're still feeling that insatiable urge to make something new?
Well then... why not join us for this year's Doodlecember event!

What is Doodlecember?
Doodlecember is a laid-back art event held during the month of December. We're not trying to make our next masterpieces, or even finished works, but instead, we're just doodling-- like you might doodle in the margins of a notebook while on a long trip. The idea is simple: 31 minutes, 31 days, 31 doodles-- each day during the month of December, cozy up with a warm cup of tea or cocoa and set a timer for 31 minutes, then spend that time doodling. Once the time's up, set down your pen and let yourself feel a little sense of accomplishment-- it's a busy time of year for many, and it's always nice to have a moment for yourself.
Do I have to follow the prompts? Do I have to doodle every day?
You don't have to do do either of those things if you don't want to! Just do what makes you happy. Strive for completionism, or just make one doodle. Follow the prompts, or make up your own-- in the end, it's all up to you.
Can I use digital art/pencil and paper/oil pastels/soot from the fireplace to create my doodles?
Of course! Any medium is fine to use, as long as you'd still consider it a "doodle" in the end.
Do I have to post my doodles?
Nope! You can keep them to yourself and your own sketchbook if you'd like! Or, you can post them if you want, and we'll even share them if you tag us.
Are there any rules I have to follow?
Unless you're going for an achievement, then you can pretty much do whatever you want and still count as "participation." There are only two rules: 1) Tag NSFW! This goes for both violence and sexual content. 2) Do not use generative AI-- besides the issues of art theft and the detriment to the environment, it goes against the entire concept of a laid-back doodling event.
Who is running this thing, anyway?
Currently, Doodlecember is run by one person, the event's creator-- Mod Stardust (he/him). If the event really starts to take off, that might change, but for now it's just me-- so forgive me if I sometimes take a little while to answer asks!
