「おやすみソニアさん」❀
Sonia lay by the wave-washed beach of Jabberwock, enjoying the sunny sky for the first time since... Before she could remember.
So much had happened. Love, despair, she'd made a family within these confines, somehow, thanks to the ever-passing alternate realities that she never did come to understand.
There were all those wonderful time with Kazuichi-kun... And less-than wonderful times with Enoshima and Despair... Times where she'd nearly lost who she was. But despite that, even those chilly memories were a comfort to the un-princess. Every day, she grows and learns and every day, even though she used to be so so alone, her heart fills more and more with the hope that her friends give to her.
"It really is a lovely day, is it not, Ageha?" she sighed, lazily looking over at the Jirachi long-hatched who still had yet to understand the concept of palm trees or coconuts. With a chuckle, she closed her eyes and let the warm sun wash over her. This was a normal day away from everyone. When she wasn't with others, she thought about others... So why did it feel so different today?
Sonia pursed her lips and wriggled slightly in the sand. "Perhaps it is because my Kazuichi-kun isn't with me right now?" She screwed up her face, not liking the fact. He had his world and she had hers, but even logic didn't make their distance any easier for her.
She sat up, suddenly, smiling determinedly out at the ocean. With a grin and knitted eyebrows, Sonia made a wish, or perhaps a prayer, to the ocean. "If I had my way... I would stay with Kazuichi-kun forever!" she felt her toes squish sand as she tensed up with excitement. That was her decision... She'd finally settled on it.
She moved forward to crouch, then slowly stand in her spot. Reveling in the feeling of the salty ocean breeze tussling her hair, Sonia clasped her hands to her chest.
If she had things her way... She and Souda would stay together on this island forever. She could teach him to skip rocks along the water, if her didn't already know how. And they could go to that little karaoke bar and sing together, way off tune and way too loud.
Lost in her daydreaming, Sonia didn't even notice how her body seemed to grow so heavy... Ageha fluttered over to her, making little distressed noises that Sonia chose to ignore.
Eyelids shut tight, body swaying with the breeze, Sonia managed one last prayer to the ocean and sky.
"I want... To be with Kazuichi-kun forever."
"Because... Loneliness isn't scary anymore, as long as I can be lonely with Kazuichi-kun!"
And that was her final decision.
