What if, instead of Uzi being as physically exhausted as everyone else after the fight against Cyn, she's actually hyped up as all fuck due to basically getting all of Cyn's energy.

So she's mentally exhausted and feels like she should be physically exhausted too, but basically just got a huge burst of energy that kinda feels like the "kid on a sugar rush" cartoon thing where she probably genuinely could bounce off the walls for hours and not feel tired.

So she tries to sleep, but can't. And it's fucking with her so badly because after everything is certified safe all around, they sleep for well over a day... Except Uzi.

She gets up after like an hour, maybe, and just starts helping out with checking up on things, making sure the Bunker isn't gonna fall or whatever. That everything's stable. And she flies around for a few hours on her own just trying to process and figure out what the hell is wrong with her and what's happening now. What should she even do now?

With nobody else to distract her she just doesn't have a goal in mind, and when she does finally exhaust herself enough to sleep, she curls up and doesn't sleep even half as long as anyone else.

Sleep becomes a huge issue for her.

It's now a race to see if Uzi, Nori, and the others can find a way to force Uzi to pass the fuck out despite technically having the equivalent energy of the fucking sun.

Cyn is actually very sweet after sleeping for the first time in decades.

Oh my god. They force Uzi to undergo those like... Dog training things. She has to find out if she's a herding person or I dunno just straight up built to run and chase. And she has to burn the equivalent of like 6 high energy working dogs before she's even remotely sleepy (and if you've ever lived with even 1 working breed dog in an area that's not specifically made with them in mind, oh my god is that rough lol)

Also does she stick to company dress code or does her innate Uzi-ness win over and she goes purple anyway?

I think U if you want to have the one letter thing be less about having an identity and more about control. Especially if it's intentionally taking away her name. Z would be close to her nickname of "Zi" and it would be easier to piece her name back together from there.

Or Z if you'd rather have the "cooler" sounding name that can also provide a bit less comedic opportunities.

Honestly depends on how far you're really going with your Swap AU! Both can be good.

Personally I think she'd be forced into the "N" boat of getting her memories fucked with if she rebels too much, so she'd be stuck with her work uniform despite fucking HATING it. But as she gains real friends and rebels for real with their help, she'd be very quick to ditch the uniform and choose something of her own. She'd probably try to swap her colors to a comforting one for her (purple) even if she doesn't know why yet.

Her "Uzi-ness" would definitely shine through in how she talks, she's referencing things she herself doesn't understand or remember why it's funny. She's trying to reach out but she's got a split rope that's burning on one side and fraying too much to hold on the other, and the bridge isn't even built between herself and who she's trying to talk to.

Whoever her teammates are, she'll care about them mildly, but be annoyed by them and would do her own thing often. They wouldn't like her unfortunately, or would pretend not to.

She's gone back to purple so much and got taken back for "reprogramming" it's... Painful when she does remember.

Uzi is such a compassionate character and I hate seeing that side of her be tossed aside by the fandom. Uzi might not like a lot of people, but she doesn't actually want them dead. She is affected by the fact she killed her classmates in a Solver overheat induced mania. She was the only one willing to fight the Murder Drones before she knew they were more than just barely sentient toasters. Even if the early "go to Earth kill all humans" plan was possible and was able to be done the exact way Uzi was planning, it would take just one human like Tessa for her to completely replan everything to only take out the humans responsible for everything Copper-9's been through because of them.

The only reason she even found the Keybug in the first place is because she helped a roach-drone without any other rhyme or reason other than she felt bad. The reason she was able to befriend N at all isn't because of his puppy dog energy— actually their first meeting proves that N would've killed her without hesitation before Uzi found out they could regenerate lol. It's because Uzi CARED ENOUGH TO CHAT WITH HIM! She could've just tricked him into leaving her alone once she got a grasp on the situation. Most people would've! If you were trapped with a hungry grizzly with actual meat wrapped around your body and the fucking bear talks to you like you're another bear, MOST WOULD BE CONFUSED AND LEAVE AS SOON AS IT'S AN OPTION. Not Uzi!!! She actually tried to figure out what was going on and figured out the group dynamics of the DDs.

Uzi could've abandoned everyone in the Bunker to deal with V and J after she was left to die. She could've killed V when N's back was turned. Heck she could've left the Colony to deal with Eldrich J and the disappearances alone. She didn't have to save V from Doll. She didn't have to go there intending to save everyone at Prom from V! She doesn't have a reason to not betray the DDs at any given point in time. She doesn't have a reason to save anyone but Thad by episode 2, which she could've done by just keeping him outside the Bunker!

Uzi's compassion only falters for real if you're actually the fucking worst. She pretends a lot, masks her emotions to not face the inevitable letdowns of her past, but her care only dies off when you REALLY hurt the ones she loves. J? Didn't back down no matter what, and wasn't even remotely on N's side. Killing her didn't really affect him in a negative way tbh. Cyn? Literally the reason behind everything, no way was Uzi going to let her go.

But if it was anyone they could talk down, Uzi would try. We see it with Doll and "Tessa" that she's not just always jumping into fights for the sake of it. Even if they're ones Uzi could technically win. If there's potential for a peaceful solution, Uzi wants to go for it. It's WHY she's so angry in episode 2 when mentioning the "humans" didn't even give the Workers a chance to explain the situation.

She's not a bleeding heart who will keel over and forgive everyone for everything, she's petty and does actually seek revenge a lot, but when it comes to scorching the planet, she's all bark and no bite.

The only time she's all bite and no bark is when you fuck with her friends and family. She'll fucking make you a missing person's case in 20 minutes time.

You asked for story situations

I had a story idea about a disasembly drone that during an attack on an outpost gets tricked and locked in the bases reactor room and gets near lethal amount of radiation

They survive but get heavily damaged, loosing almost all memory and many of their advanced functions like wings, swapable arms and regeneration

They start to collect scrap and fixing themselves with whatever they can find, eventually they manage to get some trade set up with a worker colony, trading whatever they find for manufactured parts

They go a bit (a lot) crazy with the damage and lower quality parts, talking to themselves, talking to things they collected, sometimes wondering aloud if they should kill people for parts when talking to them

Maybe in this version instead of Uzi going to the spire looking for parts she goes to this crazy scrap bot someone mentioned

I can see them talking engineering and doing mad science together

Okay firstly: I think the workers would assume this drone was jua Crazy fellow Worker Drone who found some secret stash of extra DD parts somewhere and lost it when modifying themselves with said parts, and would Not assume they're an actual DD as a result. Because they do NOT know about the regeneration even limited and forced access to the Solver brings them.

This would mean that it's relatively seen as safe to go to them and trade because "well that's just what happens when you mod yourself with DD parts!" And possibly opens up the backdoor to have world building with your headcanons on how each drone would see mods, or specifically applying mods to yourself without help.

This would also mean it's very likely this DD wouldn't have much use for anything other than the actual oil for consumption of any potential kills— and given how we do see a few cases of Worker parts being useful (Uzi's Railgun, Alice literally saying she keeps the "good parts" + we see her carefully extract wires from a corpse) there's probably a really morbid but also incredibly dangerous and life saving trade for parts in Outposts across the planet.

We can also pretty much say that if this DD ever does attack potential customers or traders, they can completely blow it off with "oh must've been attacked before I saw them" and moving on. Which, if anyone else saw, could relate it to being outside so often, or the DD parts, or the loneliness and solitude getting to them, or a mix of all three at once.

Though depending on the personality of this DD, Uzi could just be infinitely put off by them even if she's interested in what they've done, and the work they do. If they're outright too creepy about it, Uzi would keep them at such a distance that they'd at best just be a common customer to see that is realistically only seen as a good regular coming by the shop. Uzi's morbid and curious, but not cruel and sadistic.

But, of course, it's also entirely possible like you said that Uzi and this DD could actually be doing mad science together. Doubtful they'd truly consider each other friends because we know DDs need to stay out of the sun and YES Uzi's school does take place during the daylight, hence why she wakes up at 3am in the pilot to sneak out. And well... Disassembly Drone. They could just be mad scientist buddies or they could just be actual friends but in denial about it. Bonus if regardless of anything, Uzi is made fun of for her only friend being "the crazy modded drone" that trades body parts.

Uzi could still end up blowing N's head off and befriending him, but there's definitely no doubt about the fact she'll have more than one weapon at this point. She can fight off N, V, and J if they arrive like it's a boss rush and not a 1v3, though it would be very close. She'd be aware of their regeneration by that point though, and she'd be suspicious as heck, but would also just assume the rouge part trading DD just found some spare body parts from watching N get "punished" by J. (But seriously oh my god, V doesn't even hesitate to attack N simply because he'll regenerate. What the hell does J do to him when we know she wants him dead?)

Also!!! Potential for this DD to be selling/trading their own saliva as a cure for nanite acid stings, which would definitely get a lot of business and a few good and sturdy parts if they stick to keeping it a secret on how they got it and how it really works. Moreso if they don't let anyone just take samples/ keep it in bulk. You gotta come to them to get healed up sort of situation.

Uzi would totally get and bounce ideas off of them. And would definitely be trying to help them by giving them better and better parts, before realizing those aren't the parts they NEED.

I think that's the most likely option for Uzi and this DD to have that reveal— Uzi getting suspicious after befriending/meeting/repeatedly fighting against some combination of the main squad, and bringing them some of the DD parts in the best condition they're in need of, and, well. They get better.

I would say if you do go with them talking to themselves or the things they collect, don't take that away. Keep the mental effects even if they do improve over time, because this would be a severely traumatic situation, and even if they repaired their body in full, they wouldn't just lose the mental issues that come from literally breaking down and living a lie to protect themselves.
