exactly!! it reminds me of that saying people use about writing, ‘kill your darlings.’ not necessarily meaning character death or anything, but just saying if you have a beautiful turn of phrase you can’t make work in the larger piece, oh well! take it out, save it for later, and keep going. sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order to come up with a final product that does itself justice. it sucks to lose any songs tbh, but i’m really glad to know niall can do that! plus, i suspect niall never really lets songs go - i imagine he’ll find a way to rework them or sell them to another artist who seems better-suited to them! as long as he keeps writing and releasing music i’m happy!!
