I really don't know what took me so long to try Tinder. It's been here all this time, but I guess I never really needed it. So finally, even though I still don't need it, I had to check it out anyway. Earlier this year I received something super cool inside my TacPack (not to be confused with my TAC-SAC). It was seemingly small and probably to most not the highlight of the box. But to me, this little gadget shined. This item was the tinderZIP emergency zipper pulls. Just like that other Tinder, when you need a pull REALLY bad, this is where you go. No swiping required... just some cutting and sparking instead. I loved these immediately for so many reasons. They're handy. You can carry them on you and never worry about where you put them. They're bright orange which is one of my favorite colors. And overall it's just a genius idea. The idea is simple: wear the pulls on your coat zipper (parkas, ski bibs, what have you) and if you need to start a fire after the sun goes down, just add a cutting instrument and a ready-to-die lighter, and you and your ski buddies have yourself a camp fire. Here's how it works: First: Remove the zipper pull from your clothing. Take the zipper cord out of the plastic grip. You can either snap it open with your fingers or a flat-head type object, or just pull on one side of the cord really hard and…

There’s a lot of black stuff in here.
And I’m not talking about the gunk that gets down in the tiny crevices of your pistol frame.
I’m talking about the August Apocobox: …
Because Creek and the folks over at Apocabox are so cool, they did something a little different for August and procured an assortment of urban surivial tools with an underlying theme of covertness and… crows.

This new and improved 120-round ammo party pack from Federal is just the coolest. The Practice & Defend combo pack pairs 100 rounds of practice ammo with ballistically-matched personal defense rounds. Practice and Defend combo packs aren't new to Federal. They have been offering American Eagle training rounds combined with Hydra-shok jacketed hollow points for a while (these). But this year they have upped their game by offering these .380, 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 Auto combo packs with the HST self defense rounds for deeper penetration, more consistent expansion, and better performance through barriers than the Hyrda-shok of yesteryear. The .380 is not ballistically matched, but with the other three calibers you will be able to practice using the exact same grain and weight as what you load in your carry pistol. I'm no ballistics expert, and I doubt I would be able to tell the difference between two rounds side by side, but eventually, if you shoot enough, using the same round in the same handgun would start to become familiar, and then you'll have that familiarity when it matters. To me these combo packs serve another purpose, too. They're super convenient, and make for an excellent grab-n-go option when you bring home a new pistol, or as a gift for the special shooter in your life. Look for this combo-meal-for-your-gun locally, or you can order from sites like AbleAmmo.com or CenterfireGuns. And for further reading on all of Federal's new products go here.

I have always wanted one of these ultrasonic gun parts cleaners. I was literally jumping for joy when this baby arrived. And it’s not because I don’t like sitting and cleaning my guns because I actually love it. It’s just that I really want them to be cleaner. Like brand-new clean, every time.
Ok boys, this one is for the ladies, so go grab your gal and take a seat. I'm not sayin' girls do all the cleaning... I'm sayin' girls tend to me more precise when it comes to the cleanliness of their piece. Or is it just me? Back me up, ladies. Introducing the Gunslick Pro Ultrasonic Gun Parts Cleaner... the new-to me, set-it-and-forget-it way to get gun parts ridiculously clean. (View the Gunslick Pro Ultrasonic cleaner on Amazon.) Ultrasonic cleaning is hardly anything new. In fact, according to Wikipedia (which is never wrong) ultrasonic cleaning has been affordable for household use since 1970. Which puts itself in the era of residential microwave ovens and freezer door ice dispensers... totally makes sense. I am little obsessive over the cleanliness of my firearms. A pistol that takes you 20 minutes to clean takes me 45 minutes. And a dirty rifle definitely takes me over an hour. I just REALLY like getting into all the little crevices. I break out a dozen cleaning patches and another dozen pointy swabs along with my Frog Lube and get down in there. Those 6-piece brush packs are my best friends. I have always wanted one of these ultrasonic gun parts cleaners. I was literally jumping for joy when this baby arrived. And it's not because I don't like sitting and cleaning my guns because I actually love it. It's just that I really want them to be cleaner. Like brand-new clean, every time. How it works... (for me anyway) The instructions for this contraption…
