it's a pin, sure, but the wolf missed corvus' vitals by . . . a lot. he's vibrating as his claws attempt to find purchase on the fae.

Corvus managed to muster up the strength to roll and get Anwir off of him. He then regained his bearings and attempted to fly into the air…

but his wings hadn’t woken up as quickly as he did and it did nothing but make him fall to the ground.

locked out of the diasomnia mirror again. for some reason. . .

. . . it feels like he is being watched.

So he sits and lays against the wall again, this time more conscious of his surroundings. His eyes are sharp and his ears focused as he settles.

He would have to deal with this wolf. The entire day. 8-9 hours of this guy.

This was going to be a very long day.

“ pretty early. aren't you a nocturnal fae? ” Anwir huffs, finding joy in corvus' slow slow realization that, whoops! it's time to spend the day with him.

was it boring? nope! it's actually kind of fun to bother the crow. watching the microexpressions whilst also dragging him places when he wasn't delivering stuff. . . they're "friends"! and friends do things together.

“ i think you did good today~ do you have anythin' else to do today? let's get breakfast together! ”

:) says the guy who does not plan to get breakfast today.

“No thank you. My schedule is quite packed. I still have messages to deliver, you know. Plus, it would be of no help to fiddle around with my time getting breakfast.” Corvus spat as he turned his head in the opposite direction, his shoulders slightly easing. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must go.”

Corvus sighed as he turned the rest of his body and walked off. It’s not like he was going anywhere anyway. He was just finding reasons to leave.

As he walked, he thought about the activities that morning. Why did he follow along with this Chaise’s whims? He didn’t know.

And he hated how he didn’t know.

By the time classes were over, Corvus had already eaten and made his way toward the Hall of Mirrors, where he’d stay in his dorm until needed again.

He entered the dormitory and made his way toward his room, then he changed into his comfortable wear and plopped down at his desk to do homework.

When he finished, he laid down on his bed and pulled the covers over himself, then waited for morning to arrive.

Corvus almost toppled over about five times before he was fully awake, then he washed off his face and restyled his hair. Afterwards, he followed Anwir around again due to him not knowing Savanaclaw dorm.

He was unacquainted with the terrain or mannerisms of Savanaclaw, so it’d make sense to follow that of someone who does, right? That was what he thought.

He was then met with the morning training. Wow. It was a tad intense.

it was all fun and games, to the wolf at least. spelldrive was. . . fun! though it was a little stupid watching everyone recognize the obvious outlier, then try to knock a bird out of the sky with a rock, or at least, with the spelldrive disc.

ah, who cares. savanaclaw will be savanaclaw!

“ you had fun? ” again, he is not sensible and instead beelining to corvus. might as well get the daily conversation in now, yeah? “ i was tellin' you about it, but, you kinda fell asleep~ were you that tired? ”

”…fine. I will follow along with you to Savanaclaw Dormitory and stay the night.” Corvus got up and dusted himself off, then began to follow Anwir to Savanaclaw.

By the time they got there, Corvus was already yawning. He followed Anwir around the dorm (because he didn’t know where to go), and they ended up in an all pink room that Corvus was too tired to question.

As soon as Anwir set out the mattress for Corvus, he collapsed onto it with his wings acting as a blanket while he slept. Gosh.

JACK~POT!~ NOW THE HARD PART IS MANAGING TO GET CORVUS IN WITHOUT ANYONE KNOWING! the lucky part is, illusions are the greatest thing ever! so the wolf and the crow are getting up to his room without any problems. there were. . . some detours. like to the kitchen. and maybe to the bathroom. both stops for the wolf himself, but eventually. . . badabing badaboom!! yea there's no cinematic way to say this.

the room was cold, to say least. decked out everywhere was pastel decorations that, surprisingly, didn't clash too much with the savanaclaw aesthetic. . . if . . . you ignore the fact there's no trace of it here. is it magic? yes! Anwir's decoration magic. haha. unfortunately there is. . . still no time for conversation.

ah, oh well.

“ . . . sleep well. ” Anwir snorted to the now sleeping fae, snickering to himself, and maybe or maybe not kicking over a blanket so that the guy didn't wake up freezing cold. . . . was this a bad plan? yeaaaah. now there's a sleeping crow in the middle of his room. unwashed! eugh, underclassmen these days. ꒷꒦︶꒷︶꒦꒷︶꒷꒦︶꒷︶꒦꒷︶꒷꒦︶꒷︶꒦꒷︶꒷꒦︶

IN THE MORNING, COMES A STARK REALIZATION! there is morning training. right! and when there's an alarm going off with that name, he looks down to the sleeping fae ( briefly having forgotten why there is someone in his room ) with only mild pity.

mild. maybe none at all. he wakes corvus up ( by poking him ) after having gotten himself ready.

”Ah. It appears I’ve been late. I’ll have to sleep outside the mirror again.” Corvus replied, getting settled against the wall next to the mirror, using his wings as a blanket.

LATE AGAIN? DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS WAS A REGULAR OCCURRENCE HERE AT DIASOMINA. . . imagine having a curfew! haha. though it's sooo. . . why is this guy just so accepting of it? sleeping outside the mirror again? jeez. it almost makes the wolf feel bad.

“ outside the mirror? is that why you're always so non-talkative? ”

Anwir stays near corvus, staring at the idiot. the urge to make the butt of the joke appear is there. but he doesn't, because instead, a much much more devious idea comes to mind! he'll just . . . have to play it safe. “ why not sleep over in savanaclaw~? we won't bite! ” he smiles, offering a hand, “ it'd be so unkind of me to leave you here~ ”

. . . corvus is, hopefully, not a snitch.

Corvus IMMEDIATELY frowned.

“Malleus is quite.. hard to find.” Corvus sighed, finally refusing to make eye contact. He was hoping Anwir would get distracted and leave him off alone.

Corvus remembered finding Malleus perched on a tree branch. So very, very confusing. At least, for Corvus, it was.

After around 20-25 minutes of walking with Anwir following him everywhere he went, Corvus paused. It was time to head back to their dorms. Finally.

Corvus stopped moving and walked off again. “It is time to head back to our dorms. Goodnight, Anwir Chaise.”

THE WHOLE DAY WAS JUST A BUNCH OF RANDOM NONSENSE. the wolf was pretty sure that the crow wasn't listening at all, but it didn't matter. that small reaction of a frown- ahah. the idea of him being like little croc. . .

“ ah, leaving so soon? ” Anwir moved quickly along with corvus, slinging an arm over the other, “ we've hardly talked~ ” . . .

oh, it seems that the diasomnia mirror is locked. “ hm-hm? oh, that's odd~ does your housewarden often lock it? ”

"Uhm, excuse me?"

Sabre was standing a bit behind Corvus, nervously fidgeting with her skirt. She smiles upon seeing the other's face.

"I saw you while my brother was giving me a tour around the campus earlier! Sorry if this is a bit abrupt but I wanted to say hi and introduce myself since you look really cool!"

”Oh? I thank you kindly, Ma’am.”

Corvus turned as he heard Sabre speak up, his face unreadable. He bowed down in a gesture of appreciation, his wings tucked behind him.

Sabre's face immediately went red at the action, accidentally letting out a tiny chirp from surprise.

"Ah! There's no need to bow! Or call me ma'am! I get enough of that back home. Uhm, just call me Sabre please?"

She nervously giggled and began kneading at her skirt, likely an anxious habit.

”Oh. Then I shall refrain from calling you Ma’am, Sabre.”

Corvus replied, dusting off his clothes as he rose. Corvus then smiled and closed his eyes as he put a hand on his chest.

“My name is Corvus Thorne Folly, but I am usually called by my first name, Corvus, by those who surround me.” He opened his eyes. “It is a pleasure to meet you.”

Sabre's anxious kneading slowed down after Corvus introduced himself.

"Corvus..." Sabre smiled softly as she said his name. "It's really nice to meet you too. You have a pretty name! I don't think I've ever heard it before."

”I am named after the species of the crow, it is not a surprise that you have yet to hear of my name.” Corvus stopped smiling.

“May I ask if where you hail from?”

"Oh! I'm from Sunrise City in the Sunset Savannah! Crows aren't very common there so I guess that explains why I've never heard your name before. Where are you from?"

Sabre began rocking on her heels, feeling more comfortable in the conversation.

”I am from Briar Valley. We have If it is not too invasive, may I ask what beastfolk species you might be?” Corvus asked, his wings twitching in sync with him blinking.

Corvus, however, did not seem to show any signs of being content at all. He must have plenty of walls up.

"I'm a mix! My momma is a cheetah from the Scalding Sands and my poppa is a different type of cheetah from the Sunset Savanna! I look more like my poppa!" Sabre explained with a wide smile.

Sabre tilted her head to the side slightly. "Are you some kind of crow?"

”I am a mix as well! I am between a Tamalinus Crow and a New Briar Crow. At least, that is what my mother tells me.” Corvus turned his head to the side a bit. “But, I never did meet my father, so I’d have no idea if I look like him.”

Sabre perked up when Corvus mentioned he was also a mix. Her tail began swaying side to side happily. "That's so cool! It's sad that you never met your dad though. I don't know what I'd do without my poppa."

”Mhm. Well, I must make a leave now, but it was wonderful to meet you Sabre. I do hope we can meet again.” Corvus replied, as he nodded his head goodbye and waved before turning and flying off.

"Alrighty! Buh bye!" Sabre smiled wide as she waved bye to him. She watched Corvus fly off before turning to head back to her brother. "He was nice... I'll definitely have to say hi to him again..."

Luckily for Corvus, Diasomnia was exactly where he needed to go. He walked past the library, and through the halls until he got to the mirrors.

He then slowed down his walking as he approached the mirror to Diasomnia dorm and climbed inside, using his wings as leverage.

“I shall see you tomorrow, Anwir Chaise.” Corvus said before moving into the mirror entirely.

THE NOTION OF "NOT WALKING INTO DIASOMINA" WAS MEANT TO BE METAPHORICAL, but it could also be literal. . . unfortunately. he followed, talking his head off per usual about small things that didn't truly matter until they reached the mirror. ahah. how silly.

but true to his word (for once) the wolf would not step in. Anwir kept grinning, like there was something stupidly funny about this. “ ah? i'll see you. ”

WHENEVER THE CROW DID FINALLY EXIT THE MIRROR, the wolf had been waiting. granted he wasn't waiting like some homesick mutt, he had managed to strike conversation with someone else- then the moment wings popped out of the mirror, he turned attention, waving goodbye before bounding over to continue whatever the topic was before corvus left.

“ little crow~! ” Anwir called, grinning. “ you took a while~ isn't postage supposed to be quick? ”
