if a girl tried to sacrifice me to the old gods that would be totally fine and I would submit but if a guy did that I would fight back a little
unless he was really hot I guess (the god or the guy)
in which case it is appropriate to fight back for homoerotic reasons
Not me, Iâm a pacifist. I just make sad pathetic little noises while he strikes me and look up at him with my honest big brown eyes. He knows he killed a good man and it punishes him more than any physical harm I could do to him.
ohhhh if you hit him with that đ„ș hard enough he'll never land the killing blow
Iâm so patheticcore. Iâm such a poor little meow meow.
any decent man would take u in and nurse u back to health under the patronage of the old gods he once foolishly believed he could bring himself to sacrifice u to
(he doesnât know I am loved by all of the gods and by showing me clemency he saved himself from all manner of ills and perils)
What the fuck are you two talking about
homoerotic failed human sacrifice
honestly kinda unfortunate that the only spooky library aesthetic is the victorian fancy bookshelves dark academia one bcos like. ok here's some library stories.
while i was at the university the library was undergoing a major refurbishment so for a little while the print journals were being stored temporarily down in the basement.
basically nobody ever consulted the print journals bcos 99% of stuff undergrads would be looking up is online these days so every time i went down there it was dead fucking silent & empty. you had to walk through what felt like several miles of empty basement to reach the collection, which was in a room w a photocopier shoved in the corner and a bunch of these:
u turn the handles to move these around (saves space) and every time you had to go and check the aisles first on the offchance that someone was in there so they wouldn't get u know. Compacted.
many years ago i did a week's work experience with the National Library of Scotland. here it is:
but that's just the tip of the iceberg. it keeps going down the side of the bridge, like so:
i got a tour of the stacks while i was there. it's floor after floor of this:
the bookshelves are made of metal & i was treated to the 'fun fact' that the shelves are, bizarrely, load bearing. for this reason they have to be constantly vigilant about fire hazards because even a relatively small fire could cause a bookcase to buckle from the heat, which in turn could cause the whole building to collapse in on itself like a house of cards.
this has haunted me ever since!! thank you.
Ominous..
prayer to whichever dead catholic person is most appropriate: may I not have to run a whole week of surprise camps on crutches. in a knee brace.
Im agnostic raised liberal protestant, but absolutely the catholics got saints right. Sometimes your problem is so fucking specific you need Some Guy. If you're listening, Guy of Workers Who Have Strain Injuries,
No fucking WAY, there's actually a knee injury Guy? Catholicism accidentally reinventing the medical specialty system......
I know you're wondering: are there slutty pictures of him revealing his knees?

shoutout to Sam who gave me the idea for this one
Which path should he choose?
The path of the warrior, the path of the scholar, or the path of the artist?
he should wander away and have a picnic while he thinks about what path to choose
Great idea! But where should he have the picnic?
Under the tree, or under the old fort?
By the sea, so he can enjoy the sound of the waves
A lovely choice!
Should he build a sandcastle to pass the time? Or perhaps go fishing?
Perhaps he could collect shells he finds interesting
Sounds fun!
Which shell should he pick up?
This one
That's not a shell, it's a tiny earpiece.
Should he listen to music? Or to the mysterious pre-recorded message?
He should give it back to the crab in the largest shell, they thought they had lost their wave-pod and are grateful he found it!
The crab wants to give a gift in return.
Should he accept the gift of power, or the gift of knowledge?
the gift of friendship :)
Friendship acquired!
Should they celebrate with pizza or ice cream?
The crab friend cannot eat either of those! Let's split a nice seaweed salad instead. :)
So many options!
Should they get tossed salad, wiggly salad, or spiky salad?
Seasar salad
Nothing beats getting it straight from the source
Should they use scissors or claws to cut the seaweed?
What about that sword in the first panel?
The circle is complete.
Through choices, friendship, and salad, he found his way to the path of the warrior. But he won't walk it alone.
Their path is just beginning, but this story is over.
Thank you to everyone who participated!

i think yellowjackets is fun because the two timelines allows the show to recontextualize itself constantly. like how adult mistyâs devotion to adult natalie in s1 feels a bit misplaced especially considering adult nat acts like she canât stand misty. misplaced, until you see teen misty save teen natalie from death in 2x08. until you see mistyâs face the moment it became clear it wasnât going to be nat, but javi. until you see that the wilderness didnât choose in the middle of that lake. misty did. she always picks the choice that will save natalie in s1 because she chose natalie in 2x08 and paid the price of a life for it. and i just think thatâs neat.
You know weâre friends till we die And either way you turn Iâll be there Open up your skull Iâll be there Climbing up the walls

Feminists with no class consciousness are rly like âPoor Marie Antoinette she was a victim of child trafficking, sold as a 14 year old little girl to a 15 year gross old man she had never met, they didnât let her keep anything she brought from one palace while moving to another palace, she was an immigrant struggling in the highest position a woman could take in a foreign country, the rich ladies at court were so mean to her she had no choice but to LARP as a milkmaid in her special cottage in her palace to cope, she was a teenage queen for 20 years when the Revolution broke out, the mean revolutionaries accused her of SA'ing her son, ok it was one guy who I refuse to learn the name of who was immediately booed by everyone else in the court but letâs blame it on the revolutionaries as a whole because they were so mean-â
Louis XVIâŠ.mistress? Hated Marie???
WHAT IS GOING ON, WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR HISTORY FROM đ
He was one of the few people who DIDNâT hate her and was very influenced by her (the flight as far as Varennes wouldnât have happened if not for Marie pushing so hard for it) so actually if she were pro-Revolution it absolutely wouldâve made a difference
Thereâs this idea rooted in sexism that women throughout history are blameless.
This is often to excuse them for the bad things that happened regardless of their position of power, as seen in Marie Antoinette.
It can also be seen in the US during slavery where women are often ignored when it comes to their role in slavery. With women tending to own large numbers of enslaved people, with them often being part of their dowry. But they are only portrayed as southern damsels, never fully addressing their role in perpetuating the system.
Women throughout history were rarely objects with no self possession or agency, and while their rights and freedom was much more limited than it is today in many countries, this does not excuse the wrongs they committed or stood by.
It would be like excusing Carolyn Bryantâs role in Emmett Tillâs murder as she was only a young woman. Rather than acknowledging she knew what she was doing and never viewed her actions nor their results as wrong.
Youâre exactly right. The woobification of Marie Antoinette is the epitome of white bourgeois feminism and thatâs why her stans annoy me so much. They donât realize theyâre parroting royalist propaganda spread after the Bourbon restoration and would rather project onto this imagined OC of a sad rich girl being tugged along by events she had no control over instead of looking into the REAL Marie, who had more agency and power than any other woman in France and chose to use it against the working class women furious at her for resisting progressive reforms.
Some have misinterpreted this post as âno one should sympathize with Marie Antoinette ever.â No, I was calling out how Marie apologists garner sympathy for her at the expense of the truth. They frame facts in deceptive ways to make people think she was some kind of traumatized teenager during the Revolution, with the implication that the revolutionaries were monsters for going after her.
I know that the historical tendency to vilify women more than men creates this urge to rehabilitate women who went down with the worst reputations, but we do actually have to be considerate with our choices and be conscious of power dynamics other than gender. Marie Antoinette didnât bankrupt France, but she wasnât a blameless victim either. Olympe de Gouges had some iconic quotes butâŠdoesnât really deserve that much glorification either when she was a Girondin supporter? Charlotte Corday had NERVE but ultimately her assassination of Marat was an extremely foolish tactical decision and accelerated the purge of the very Girondins she was trying to save.
Of this era, the women whose vilification is ACTUALLY most undeserved are the working class women themselves, like Pauline Leon, Claire Lacombe, and Simone Evrard, who were the real backbone of the Revolution but ended up being branded as mad âharpies,â mindless mobs, and dismissed by even the Left intellectuals. We know very little about them as individuals because they werenât the ones who wrote or spawned essays after essays of public discourse, so unfortunately we canât make movies and TV shows about them on par with the volume that Marie Antoinette gets, but we can at least do better than whitewashing their oppressors.
(And I want to say once again that I am NOT putting more blame on Marie than Louis. There just arenât enough people ignorant enough to stan Louis XVI to annoy me into making posts like this about him.)
Much how like Richard remembers Bunny to be worse than he is, I think he also remembers Julian to be better than he actually is.
For this Iâm going to be focusing on Richardâs perception of Julian, rather than how he actually is, however I have A LOT to say there so I might make another post about that.
Now, even from their first meeting it is evident he is infatuated by the idea of Julian. Donna Tartt repeatedly describes the things about him to be white, with him having âsnow whiteâ hair, a white door, I mean even his room is âairy and whiteâ. Itâs definitely on purpose that the only colour in the first two meetings is white and that itâs mentioned so frequently. White is obviously linked to positive, good things and itâs a way for Tartt to show us the way that Richard ignores all the bad things, the other colours, in favor of the good parts of him, white.
Itâs also evident that Richard remembers him to be a things associated with life. When describing Julianâs room, he talks about the âflowers everywhereâ and the way it was âairyâ with âa breeze flutteringâ in the room. I think the reason that he remembers all these fresh, alive things is because his other memories are plagued with the death of Bunny.
He remembers Julian to be better, since he had no part in the killing of him, and even left the school once he discovered it had happened. These flowers perfectly represent that, since itâs obvious the memories of Julian are filled with life, rather than this memory of death.
However even without his unreliable memory, Richard is clearly infatuated by the idea of Julian and his aesthetic (a common theme in the book). He goes so far as to say that he âfelt intoxicatedâ. This is a cause of the way that he only sees him to be good, when I think that maybe thatâs not quite true. I realise Iâve written a lot here, so Iâll do another post about the causes of this infatuation but, yeah.
Thank you for coming to my nerd talk
This makes no sense
it literally could not be more straightforward
It literally doesnt make sence, both have the same value, they're both $30
I think the failure of many people to grasp an incredibly simple, barebones metaphor is demonstrating implicit bias very well
This dude straight up stated the fucking answer and still canât understand it, because heâs expecting the answer to be his own views lmao
No im not expecting anything its just a badly frammed metaphor
Bro you said the answer. Both have the same value despite different sizes. Itâs simple. Basic. Elementary.
But it never says that, it just asks you wich one is greater and the text ends there, wich leads you to thinking that one indeed has greater value then the other, and that the one with the greater value is the answear
It asks you which one has the greater value and what is the answer to that question?
Im not about to argue over a focken tit size metaphor
Never underestimate the lack of reading comprehension on this site lmfao
