Hi everyone! First off, thank you so much for your patience with us. Things have gotten really busy behind the scenes, and we’re sorry we haven’t been as present as we’d both like to. We know things have slowed down a little, and we truly appreciate everyone who’s continued to keep the space alive in the meantime.
That said, we’ll be making a few adjustments for the rest of the year to keep things running smoothly. The admin team will be stepping back and putting the group on hiatus for a while, so we won’t be managing events or activity checks, but the group will stay open for anyone who wants to keep writing, plotting, and interacting. We’re planning to return full-time around January of 2026.
In summary:
Applications will be closed for now.
No activity checks will be held until our return.
Current members are welcome to stay, write, and post as they please.
The muse cap will be lifted, so anyone already in the group can pick up new muses freely. Just please be mindful of FC hogging and overall balance while we’re away. If you decide to add a new muse, please message us to let us know— we’ll still be checking in occasionally and will do our best to keep the masterlist updated during the hiatus.
If you’d like to keep your spot in the group during this period, please like this post before November 19 so we can take note. If you plan to step away, that’s okay too, just keep in mind that you’ll have to wait until we reopen to reapply.
One last thing, we've noticed some members have received weird anon messages and we are sorry that this is happening. Unfortunately, we cannot really control how outsiders interact with our members and we really feel bad and sorry that this keeps happening and we understand any ill feeling that might come from this regarding the group.
We can’t say enough how grateful we are for everyone here. For your patience, your creativity, and the care you’ve put into this world with us. Even as we take a step back, we hope you’ll keep writing, connecting, and making this space your own. We’ll be back as soon as we can, but in the meantime, we’re excited to see what you all continue to create.
The admin team aims to cultivate a space for writers who love and want to write. We also want Yeonhwa to be a place where you can focus on growing and developing your muse and their connections, while also providing different avenues to complete activity checks. The monthly prompts are not obligatory, but rather a way for you to explore muse development in a freeform manner in relation to the given prompt each month.
Further instructions can be found under the cut!
“It was November — the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, dep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind — songs in the pines.”
Anne of Green Gables — L.M. Montgomery
The objective for this prompt is to help us understand your muse better, as well as let you dive into their core more.
November arrives with a quiet chill. As the month is commonly associated with deep reflections, we want to center this month's prompt around gratitude. Yeonhwa University is known for producing high-achieving students, but behind every bright star is the person who quietly supports them. Whether it be a parent, teacher, coach, or friend, to whom is your muse the most grateful in their life? Other questions to think about: How does your muse show gratitude? If not a person, what aspect of your muse's life are they the most thankful for? What are some things that your muse takes for granted in their everyday lives?
As mentioned before, you’re free to do as you please with this prompt. From an angsty inner monologue to a bullet-point list of headcanons, the ultimate goal is to help us understand who your muse is on a deeper level. The prompt runs the whole month of November. Please tag with dg:prompt5 if you choose to participate.
October creeps in, bringing cooler nights, half-finished essays, and looming deadlines that haunt students. To celebrate the season (and give everyone a break before midterms finish us off), the Student Body is hosting Yeonhwa University’s first-ever campus-wide Halloween Festival! From Friday, October 31st to Sunday, November 2nd, the campus will be transformed into a haunted playground complete with themed events, costume contests, and enough decorations to make Facilities file a complaint.
Participation is free, but some activities, like the Pumpkin Carving Showcase, will have limited slots, so make sure to register early! Whether you’re here for the jump scares, the photo ops, or just the free candy, there’s something for everyone, assuming you can handle the walk back to the dorms after dark. For more information and sign-ups, visit halloween.yh.edu.
See you there… if you dare.
Official Schedule:
Friday, October 31st
10 AM – 5 PM / Pumpkin & Squash Patch Opens
Located on the main lawn behind the library, the Faculty of Agriculture will be running Yeonhwa’s first campus pumpkin patch. Students can pick their own pumpkin or squash for free (one per person). Those interested in joining the Pumpkin Carving Showcase must register and pick up their pumpkin before 4 PM.
5 PM – 7 PM / Trick-or-Treat on Campus
All academic departments will be stationed outside their respective buildings to hand out candy to students, guests, and the children of faculty and staff members. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Departments are reminded to clean up their stations after the event.

Hosted by the Student Body in collaboration with the DJ club, the official Halloween Party will take place at the 3 AM nightclub. University security will be on-site.
Saturday, November 1st

The Yeonhwa Theatre Department will transform the Humanities Building into a fully immersive haunted house experience. Entry is free, but donations are encouraged to support the department’s winter play. Visitors are advised not to touch the performers (and vice versa).

11 AM – 2 PM / Autumn Market & Bake Sale
Clubs and organizations will set up booths along the library walk selling homemade treats, warm drinks, and fall-themed goods. All proceeds go toward student club funding.

Held on the main field. Students are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and jackets. Complimentary popcorn and hot drinks will be provided by the Film Club.
As previously mentioned, participation is free of charge, though some events require registration. Costumes should remain campus-appropriate; masks must be removed when entering academic buildings. Students are reminded to treat campus property with care, as Facilities will be inspecting decorations the following Monday.
OOC Note
Welcome to Yeonhwa KRP’s Halloween Event! While the festival takes place from October 31st to November 2nd, our event will run from Monday, October 26th to Saturday, November 9th. Afterwards, no new event starters can be posted; however, you may continue ongoing threads. Please tag all event threads with dg:halloween.
While the above schedule outlines the official university programming, the real attention is on the student-organized party that has taken over campus conversations.
The Student Thrown Halloween Party (Friday, October 31st) / The event everyone’s been pretending not to talk about. Talks of this party circulated through group chats and whispered invites for weeks. The location of the party is the old, abandoned math building on the far side of campus. It is set to be demolished in January 2026, to make way for more student housing, but what's one more hurrah? Though the building has been off-limits for the past year, a special favor was called in so that the University's admin would turn a blind eye. While most students assume this is the doing of the Student Body Government, it actually is the joint efforts of the Ophiuchus members, most of whom are using this party to scout for new members.
As the event is not recognized by the university, anything that might happen around or because of them is fair game for threading.
Your friend tilts their head, squinting at your outfit as you adjust the last detail. The hat that won’t sit right, the fake blood smudged just a little unevenly, the prop that’s already falling apart. You shrug: at this point, commitment is half the costume. Someone in the crowd waves you over for a photo. You drag your friend with you, ready to make the most out of tonight (who knows if you’ll even remember it tomorrow). A pain shoots up your leg, but you smile for the camera, doing your best to make it look like you're not already regretting the shoes.
Task #3 – This task is meant to be a fun activity that depicts your muse's Halloween costume. There is no set format for this task; you can create a moodboard or post graphics. All we ask is that you provide a small description explaining the reason why your character chose their costume. Feel free to elaborate further on your muse's Halloween customs if you'd like!
The task will run from October 23th to November 6th. This will give everyone approximately 2 weeks to post if you choose to participate. Please tag your post dg:task03 And yes, this does count towards your activity! Have fun everyone!

"October is a thick and hollow bone. There are cracks down the length of it. There is ache when it rains."
Dear Would-be Wife — Gala Mukomolova
The objective for this prompt is to help us understand your muse better, as well as let you dive into their core more.
October arrives with ghosts in tow, haunting our lives with eerie memories. Yeonhwa’s students pride themselves on their high achievements and perfect smiles, but beneath this manufactured veneer, what is it that your muse is truly afraid of? The theme of this month’s prompt revolves around the concept of fear and hauntings. Some guiding questions you can consider while answering the prompt include: What are the memories that torment them? What is your muse’s greatest fear? Did this manifest in their childhood, or is this a recent development? What is a fear that constantly haunts them, even though it might not seem serious to others? How does your muse react to terrifying or uncomfortable situations—fight, flight, freeze, or fawn? Does your muse believe in spirits/ghosts/the afterlife? Why or why not? Who does your muse turn to when they are afraid?
As mentioned before, you’re free to do as you please with this prompt. From an angsty inner monologue to a bullet-point list of headcanons, the ultimate goal is to help us understand who your muse is on a deeper level. The prompt runs the whole month of October. Hi all! Admin team here with an important announcement regarding the Activity Check. With many of our members reaching out for hiatuses or asking for help with the AC due to busy schedules, we feel it would be inconsiderate to everyone if we did not address it. The admin team is aware that this is a particularly busy time for everyone. We believe that roleplaying should be a hobby and should never trump in real-life matters, which is why our goal for the roleplay was always to be a relaxing and easygoing space for people to write.
That being said, we have decided to call off this week's AC to give our members a small reprieve. Thank you to those who have already submitted, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We will still proceed with posting the Halloween event over the weekend in case members would like to get some new threads out during this small break.
Please note that though we will be canceling this week's AC, tomorrow, the admin team will go through the hiatus list and remove those who have not shown activity a week after their hiatus ends.
Thank you for your continued trust and support! Stay safe and healthy everyone. <3

Introduction
If you’re a member of the upper echelon of Kanagawa Prefecture, no matter if you belong to old money or new, then you are undoubtedly well-acquainted with the Kasuga name. The family’s rise to fame and fortune began a hundred years ago, with the patriarch at the time opening a small inn bordering the docks of what is now Yokohama. In the current century, the Kasuga conglomerate is practically synonymous with the Hilton or the Ritz in Japan, and it manages tens of luxury hotels across the country. In more recent years, their business has only expanded, with more Kasuga hotels cropping up in major cities in East Asia.
If it were up to Aoi, she’d be spending her third year in Hokkaido, under the guise of shadowing the family business at the newly-renovated Kasuga Hokkaido branch - or, at least, pretending to be productive while partying it up with her friends until dawn every night. However, as her mother would say, “we can’t always get what we want, can we?” And if Aoi’s mother could add to that, she’d probably say something like, “we’ve arguably been giving you too much of what you want your entire life.“
If you asked Aoi what the final straw was, she’d have no idea. Certainly, the mix of falling grades that couldn’t be saved through bribery, maxed credit cards, and early mornings stumbling home still drunk from luxe parties did not paint a flattering picture to her parents. Now, she’s in Seoul, stuttering through a mix of her fluent English and poor Korean to be understood. Weekends and academic breaks will now almost entirely be spent on the clock learning from the employees at the recently opened Kasuga Gangnam hotel. At least two chaperones have been hired by Aoi’s mother to act as glorified parole officers, sending periodic reports back to Yokohama about the Kasuga heiress’ daily routines - whether or not she’s back in her dorm by a certain time, actually showing up to classes, and attempting to mingle with peers.
Honestly, the worst thing about this entire arrangement were that Aoi was barred from returning to Japan until school breaks, or otherwise dire family emergencies, allowed it. Well, that and she had a much more reasonable max on her credit card now - no top-grade hanwoo every night. The whole part about attending class and showing up to clubs and at least pretending to play the role of perfect heiress would be no issue, but at what point would the song and dance start blurring the lines between acting purely out of obligation and actually enjoying her new life in Korea?
