This is my silly little sideblog for my revived Dragonball hyperfixation so I don't bother the people who follow me for Transformers stuff. By complete accident I was dwelling on it again and came up with a whole ass story that I am compelled to draw out. Fun fact: I actually got my start in art by drawing Dragonball Z fanart over 20 years ago! Turns out drawing in your original fandom style is like riding a bike!

Creative name, I know. But hear me out...

Do you like vikings? How about vampires? How about vampire vikings? How about Toriyama-inspired vampire vikings from the First Demon Realm that help expand canon lore about the universe and a key species other than Saiyans? (No hate to Saiyans, I'm just a Namekian kind of guy) Well, I've got all that and more in my little pet project here!

Synopsis: A year after Trunks' dire warning about the coming of the Androids, the remnants of an ancient warrior race descend upon the Earth... But for once they genuinely come in peace? Sensing no ill-intent from their honorable king, Goku, Gohan and Piccolo help them to settle in the deserted mountains of the frozen north in exchange for help fighting the Androids. Yet this king, kind as he is, seems to be keeping some things a secret from them, particularly about why he seems so familiar with Piccolo's father, Katatz...

Okay, so the next page is done and ready to post, but I have a tiny problem... It's sort of stuck on my iPad 😅 I've tried everything I can to connect it in some way to the internet to just upload it to my drive or even discord message it to myself, but nothing's worked. I connected it to my phone's hotspot, but it won't transfer any data through it for some reason. I tried driving down to my work, but it wouldn't connect to the wifi even though it's never had a problem doing it before. I'd try to restart it, but I'm so terrified that if I do that my Clip Studio will be like "oh we can't verify your license without an Internet connection, so you can't save until you figure all that out."

Technically I could drive all the way down to my new place, pick up my internet box and bring it all the way back again, but I really can't justify wasting the gas I have just for that. I'm going to try the wifi at work during my shift tomorrow to see if being back in the break area instead of out front makes a difference, but if for some reason that doesn't work then I'm afraid the next page will be delayed for a while longer. I've reached out to some people who are decidedly not my brother to try to get this move over with, but it's the weekend so I probably won't hear back from them until next week. Hopefully we'll be able to get this sorted soon though. In the meantime, I'm going to keep working on future pages. The chapter's almost done, so maybe we can have it updated on all the sites shortly after the move.

Just a small heads up that there's probably not going to be a comic update this week. I'm finally (finally!!!) moving into my new place this weekend so all my time atm is going to moving the last bit of my stuff and all that. But that does mean I'll be able to stream my work very soon, so I'm really looking forward to that!

Okay, so now that this has fully fallen through again, I'm going to elaborate a bit. Yeah, I didn't end up moving yet again despite working through the entire weekend and even taking time off my day job to make that happen. I'm trying to figure out a plan that doesn't involve my extremely unreliable brother, and I know I can do something, but just how upset my wallet is going to be afterwards is the big question mark here.

But moving on to the part that matters to anyone following this blog... So I did have to delay comic work to get this move done, and I'm technically still working on it now to at least update this week, but there's just one small problem... I already moved both my computer and my script book over to my new place. (Actually this was such a last minute fall-through that I'd moved literally everything but myself and my cats over, so I'm running lean on everything atm) I'm pretty sure I remember most of the exact dialogue I had for this next page, and what I don't remember precisely I at least know the gist of what has to be said, so I think I can manage. Unfortunately I do my final formatting and posting on my PC, so actually posting it properly to link to the previous page is going to be a little annoying. It can be done, just gonna need a workaround or five.

So yeah, that's how my week's started. Fun.

18 pages into sketching Age Zero and I finally get to draw our hero~

I was super looking forward to this panel because of the composition and I'm proud I managed to do it properly, so here's a little sneak peek. Can't wait to see it in full ink, but I'm doing all the chapter sketches first for this project so it'll be a little while yet.

Welp, it finally happened. My iPad is starting to give up on me. I went to open the file for chapter 4 of DBV and it wouldn't load, eventually giving me a list of errors so long that the box went off the screen. I was really panicking for a moment because I was nearly done with the next page and I was afraid the whole file had corrupted, but I was able to transfer it to my PC and open it in Clip Studio without trouble, so at least it's safe! I'll have to try to separate the current page into its own file and transfer it back to see if that'll work, but it's pretty clear the days of doing everything on my iPad are coming to a close.

I do have a very nice drawing monitor for my PC that I bought to stream with, but I don't have the space to set it up where I currently live and I've already moved it over to my new living space. Unfortunately that means I have to be very careful with my files until I'm finally able to move. Y'know, the move that was supposed to happen two months ago. But my brother swears he'll be able to do it soon, so hopefully I won't be waiting too much longer. Here's hoping this thing doesn't completely die on me before then.

I'm finally to the actual animating portion of my little teaser project and it's already looking so good I absolutely can't wait to show you guys! The process itself is also kinda fun, so I'm definitely looking forward to doing more animations in the future. Maybe we'll test out a more involved, proper anime scene with one of everyone's favorite bits I've done in Dragon Ball Valhalla 😉 We'll just have to see...

... Or at least we would be able to see if a certain someone would stop sitting directly in front of my screen!!! 😭
