Ohh imagine living in Brownsburg and Jack coming to your city 😂 I tried hard to watch him live in Euro swing but it’s impossible to plan with him 😭

Literally. Even when you know where he's going to be, getting tickets for the right day is a challenge so unless you can afford multiple days it's still a bit of a gamble unless you can buy them last minute.

I spent years trying to see Andy Murray at Queens and Wimbledon and either got the wrong day, or he'd lost in the 1st round when I went for a day later on in the tournament presuming he'd still be in!!

Nothing is guaranteed.

Quallies start on the 24th Aug, so the entry cutoff is going to be 3-4 weeks before that. 3rd August at best... which only gives Jack DC to change his ranking.

He'd need to be top 100-104 ish for direct entry so would need to gain 220 points in a week, aka get to the finals.

Win a round or two and he's definitely in the qualifying bracket. Lose first round and it's looking a bit dodgy!!

JPJ is also playing Brownsburg so it’ll help them both to have some extra company!

There’s a week off between DC and the challenger which also feels like the right way to do things for a bit.

Honestly this is the best decision made in a long time; trying to return to the tour with an injury that hasn't fully healed simply doesn't work. The right thing is to start at lower levels to regain match rhythm, allow the arm to heal, collect points, and be fully ready for the new season.

Agreed. Even with injuries taken out the equation, the ranking isn’t there and I’m glad he’s being humble about it.

I don't think he'll withdraw from the DC; we would have found out by now. Everyone is worried because of what happened at Wimbledon, but Andrew Castle actually let it slip during a live BBC broadcast days ago that Jack wouldn't be playing Wimbledon so it wasn't a last-minute decision.

I’m still not sure on the Andrew Castle thing whether he did have unreleased info or was just talking shite as usual.

As much as his info was often right, it felt very much a word of mouth from someone who knows someone type of source. But hey - we don’t have to suffer his comms at Wimbledon next year 🥳

I can see him playing DC but after that maybe waiting and trying to get a Cinci wildcard.

How can you guys still hope that he’ll play back-to-back tournaments? I’ve forgotten the last time that actually happened; I’m still traumatized by Wimbledon I’m even worried about whether he’ll play DC. Montreal feels like a dream.

Playing A tournament is a win still at this point. I’m not really looking any further ahead than this. But all I was saying in that last post is that Jack is too popular for tournaments to not give him wildcards. He’ll sell tickets!

If he’s fit enough to play they’ll main draw wildcard him no problem.

Arthur being top of the Q list with that ranking is funny. He could easily not make it, but let’s hope the confidence is still high!

Wimbledon kept my mind and heart busy, but right now is one of those days where the only thing I feel is the pain for Jack’s absence, I miss him so much it hurts😭

The gap after Wimbledon always gets me too.

Tennis is still happening around the world but it’s just not the same.

Thankfully the wait for Jack isn’t too much longer and I can’t explain why but I’m feeling optimistic about him playing DC and doing well.

Also when you look at the rankings and see how far Arthur jumped up with one good run it goes to show how easy it’s going to be for Jack to rack up points if he can play back to back!

Absolutely; when Jack reached the US Open semifinals, he didn't cause nearly as big a sensation—for the Brits, tennis equals Wimbledon.

Exactly, Arthur had a full on press day talking to every tv and radio hosts going on Monday!

Poor guy looked exhausted with the same questions on repeat!! I hope he’s managed to get away for a nice holiday now.
