I saved up all my allowance this summer and got my self an #iPadPro and #applepencil. After just finishing #strangerthings I thought #jimhopper would be a great first subject to test out #procreate and my new toys.

Having grown up and spent most of my life on a farm there is a certain understanding of what constitutes real work. Drawing pictures was not that. Which is why it should have come as no surprise to me that my initial feeling on demonstrating my craft publicly at that very farm was none other than pure anxiety. . Not only am I oddly uncomfortable with praise, (don’t get me wrong I like it I am just uncomfortable with it) but I had this overwhelming feeling that I should be doing something else. . It was the annual Father’s Day Strawberry Extravaganza and years prior I had done everything from tending bar in the winery/brewery to driving the tractor for hayrides to the berry patch to jumping in the kitchen when orders occasionally got backed up. This year, since our staff has been on point, I pitched doing the artwork for the Concord Stomp T-shirts while trying to sell tours of the winery and brewery. . At the time I thought nothing of it until I was there and drawing. Drawing pictures when everyone else was doing “real work”. Thought’s crept into my mind like, “How audacious of me to come in here while everyone else is busting ass.” Or “God I must look like a complete narcissist to think any one wants to see me do this. I should see how they’re doing at the bar.” To make matters worse I was certain the staff was side eyeing me, thinking the same things I was. The phrase “must be nice” was what I was sure they were thinking. But only it wasn’t. . Not only were guests extremely kind and supportive but staff also seemed to enjoy watching me work. At least that’s how it seemed. You never really know what people are thinking but as far as face value goes, they expressed approval of my endeavors. . I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to display one of my passions and for the universal support I received. The day ended before I could finish this one. Expect updates. If you’d like to come see me do my thing, I’ll be creating art work for upcoming beer labels almost every Sunday in July and August. If you want me to show you all of the fun beer and wine making facilities along with a yummy barrel tasting, I’ll be doing that too. I hope to see you there. My wife loves flowers but I never liked giving them to her because I felt that they were such a poor representation of true love. So for Christmas one year I painted her a bouquet of flowers that would never wilt away.
