Kris Bell and Ashley Bean to Feature on Compilation Album-How Can You Get Involved?

Fans of the hard rock scene in the Midwest get ready: Kris Bell and Ashley Bean are bringing you some amazing music via Dream Row’s compilation album.

  The 19-year-old Ashley Bean from Central Illinois brings youthful talent to the table; with a soulful yet feminine voice, she sounds reminiscent of classic girl-powered bands such as Joan Jett and the Blackhearts or more angsty groups like The Cranberries. Bean has an impressive history with many well-known musicians, including members of Journey as well as Cathy Reynolds, and has taken much of her inspiration from them. After her current tour around Central Illinois, Bean plans to continue writing and performing her own music.

  Kris Bell hails from Nashville, and brings his own blues-infused rock to the scene. His sound is similar to harder 90’s rock, such as bands like Shinedown and Incubus. His music has received airplay on radio stations across the country, and some of his work has even been purchased by major television stations for use in their programs. He’s currently working on his second full-length album while touring around the Midwest, through Indiana and Wisconsin. He recently toured in the Southeast, and around Georgia as well.

  Dream Row is here to create a compilation album for Kris Bell and Ashley Bean, courtesy of our sound engineer Geoff Koval, and to promote them through multiple media platforms. Dream Row also has the ability to advertise these musicians through our publication, The Art of Music, Fashion and Food.

  Currently, Dream Row is looking to gather three additional artists for the upcoming compilation album. A compilation album is featured in each edition of The Art of Fashion, Food & Entertainment that’s published, taking two songs from each artist and featuring them for download. Each album only consists of 6 artists at the most, so everyone has a chance to shine. At a special low rate of only $200 for the two songs contributed, artists receive not only the opportunity to be on the compilation, but endless support and promotion from Dream Row themselves. Offering countless opportunities, Dream Row sets up a profile for each artist, linking them directly to our website. Artists can publish biographies, upcoming shows, and put up their music for download. They can use Dream Row as a platform to promote themselves. When the public searches for these artists to download their music off of Dream Row, they will be automatically redirected to these profiles.

  It’s quite simple for other artists to get involved, simply by contacting Dream Row. Dream Row’s production services are relatively inexpensive, especially when compared with other promotion methods, and are extremely beneficial for the artist. Dream Row is interested in promoting new, raw talent that would otherwise be swept under the rug. There will always be more music out there in the world than we can possibly take in, and it’s our mission to grab some of that music and showcase it. Main Street Live Receives Dream Row’s November “Plug Yourself” Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Local music venue Main Street Live has been chosen as the recipient of Dream Row’s November “Plug Yourself Award.” Main Street Live is located in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and provides live entertainment from local artist to musicians that are touring across the country.  

The “Plug Yourself Award” was established by Dream Row and is awarded monthly to honor active independent artists, musicians and music industry businesses for their industry achievements. The award is named after Dream Row’s mantra to “Plug Yourself,” a statement that embodies the company across its multiple divisions.

“Main Street Live is one of the nicest live music venues I’ve been to outside of the city of Nashville.  The venue is very well maintained and able to accommodate a large crowd,” says Daniel Shaw, Operations Director, Co-Founder and Vice President of Dream Row. “They keep all their information up to date to make it easy for music lovers to know when someone is coming to play at the venue.  I highly suggest all bands and live music lovers to go check out this amazing venue as soon as possible. There are two venues located within Main Street Live that host a variety of music types each night. Thursday features “The $4 shows” that showcases local talent including bands, songwriters, DJs and other entertainers. Geroge Lucas Album Review

4340 – GEORGE LUCAS

George Ducas is back with a new album and on a new label (Loud Ranch), his first album release since 1997’s WHERE I STAND.  Ducas’ fans are going to believe that it was worth the wait.

The new album kicks off in fine style with the thumping, fist-pumping  “Cow Town” co-written by Ducas and Jim Beavers, rooted in the raucous honky tonks and roadhouses of Ducas’ native Texas.  Sure to be a dancehall crowd pleaser, “Cow Town” is the first single from 4340 and became an immediate hit in the Lone Star State, quickly climbing into the Top Ten on the Texas Music Charts. The full album is scheduled for release October 29, 2013.

In a similar vein is “Gimme Back My Honky Tonk”, in which Ducas praises the benefits of places that still offer two-for-one cold beers and a bucket of peanuts.  Instead of tablecloths and fru-fru drinks, he wants a honky tonk with “a jukebox and a country song.” Yeah!

4340 also includes “Love Struck,” a song that Ducas has been performing at live shows for a couple of years before finally including it as a track on a recorded project. True Ducas fans will recognize the song and happily sing along with lyrics such as: “Short skirt, tank top, Tony Lamas/ Oh man, I better call my mama…”

But there are ballads here, too, including “This One’s Gonna Hurt,” a song that Ducas admits is a “heartbreaker.”  And he describes “Your Song,” the final cut on the album, as: “pretty personal in that it is an introspective look at who I am and my desire to be better (or to have been better) than who I am.”

Ducas’ songwriting chops are evident on this album, with solo or co-write credits on all 12 tracks.  And his co-writing partners are no slouches either, including the likes of Radney Foster, Jason Matthews, Keifer Thompson and Jon Henderson.

 In fact, he may have been away from a recording studio for a while, but he has kept busy as a songwriter with several major country hits, such as Sara Evans’ No. 1 “Real Fine Place to Start,” Josh Thompsons’s “Won’t Be Lonely Long,” The Eli Young Band’s  “Always the Love Songs,” and more.

 With 4340, Ducas and some of his best buds present his fans with 12 tracks that were definitely worth waiting for.

Standout cuts: “Cowtown,” “Amnesia,” “Breaking Stuff,” “Gimme Back My Honky Tonk.”

The October 2013 Plug Yourself Award Winner: Hannah Bethel

  It seems as though Dream Row’s October 2013 PlugYourself award winner Hannah Bethel was destined to be a country singer. As a young girl, she always knew that being an entertainer was her goal, and by the age of ten, her talent for singing had become apparent. At fourteen, Bethel began playing guitar and writing her own songs. She soon began to travel around northern Michigan, where she is originally from, playing and singing at local venues and elsewhere around the north. Then at the age of eighteen, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Belmont University and pursue her dreams of being a professional country artist. Two years later she would leave school to focus more on her songwriting, and  three years later, here we are, with her first EP “No Stopping, Standing, Parking” having been released in 2010 and her new EP entitled “The Freedom EP” only released in 2013. Since the release of that album, co-produced by Andy Sheridan who plays for Hunter Hayes, she has received radio play worldwide, and has even had a song hit the top 50 in Japan. Her music video for “No Where Left to Roam” has aired on many television networks, including the popular Country Network. She has been touring almost non-stop, and when I had a chance to catch up with the singer, she mentioned that she has rarely been in Nashville as of late.

This is her last big run of the year however, ending her tour in the beautiful state of Montana, and soon she will be jumping right back into the studio to finish preparing her next album. The manager for her next record is the talented Rikk Feulner, whom she has been working with for about a year. Feulner has been in the industry for about thirty years himself, and has worked with such famous names as Robert Plant and The Eagles. The album is anticipated to be a success according to the pair; “We’re super proud of it.”

Obviously, Bethel is going places in the music business, and I wondered if she had any advice for others trying to catch their big break. She emphasized that before you dive into the business, you really have to know for sure that being a musician is what you want to do with your life. She also stated that in order to be happy as a musician, one has to remember who they are as an artist and stand up for it; It is easy for other people in the industry to push you into being someone you are not,but you have to be ready to turn down offers that don’t fit your personal goals as a musician.

Being an independent artist like Bethel also comes with additional responsibilities. Though she does have a manager and a PR group, Bethel pretty much does everything else, right down to the booking. “You have to wear a lot of hats,” said the singer, and though it is a lot of work, Bethel finds that it is rewarding to be in charge of your own affairs.

Hannah Bethel is everything Dream Row looks for in an artist, and was a perfect fit for the Plug Yourself award. Having known Dan and Darrell (the co-presidents of Dream Row) since the age of seventeen, she said that she was both “flattered and excited” to have her hard work recognized. She is a singer/song-writer of immense passion, dedication, talent, and spirit; Who better to receive the award?
