Something I’ve been thinking for the past few days is a time travel au (I love them a lot) where Baelor in his final moments does not die (because of some weird magics it doesn’t really matter) but is instead transported to the future, to Dany and Viserys

I'm thinking about a version where time travel au Dunk wakes up right at the end of the trial coversation. But he was given a brief assurance by the gods that 2 people came back with him. The witch & the raven. So he asks Baelor if he would be allowed to write a note.

Baelor is like yeah but u wont have time to send it

Dunk just grins. He basically writes 'Brynden, Shiera if u get ur asses down here & lock baelor & Valarr in a broom closet, I'll he marry you guys right after the trial'. Then throws the note into the fire.

The prince is very confused, but when Dunk leaves, he prepares to join the trial anyway

Only come morning to end up locked in a closet in full armour with his son, pitcher of wine & plate of biscuits

Maekar is very shocked when his aunt & uncle ride in to join the hedge knight. He's like r u insane?? How tf do u even know this guy.

Shiera is like wdym that's mine & Brynden's betrothed

Maekar feels like he missed a bunch of chapters.

So the trial does go ahead, Dunk wins MUCH faster with his own improved abilities & 2 soulmates he's fought alongside for decades so can work with seamlessly.

Then they get married on the bloody field while everyone is deeply confused at what just happened

By the time they remember that Baelor & Valarr are in the closet Dunk has won a trial of seven with no casualties, formed soulbonds with most of the Targaryens present, & is now married

Very confusing day that was a lot simpler than it should have been

And not just to each other, oh no, they've apparently decided to follow in yet another Targaryan tradition and picked up some 20-something hedge knight that no one else has ever heard of and now they're acting all BESOTTED!!!??

the paris catacombs are 1000x more fucked up than i imagined

did you know the cops once found a fully functioning movie theater with a well-stocked bar inside the catacombs and they when they tried to go back later to formally investigate it was completely emptied out save for a note that read "don't search for us"

my little bro is part of the catacombs community and yeah, it's basically a fully autonomous society! enough that when my bro goes in on a friday night, they don't come out until monday for work- sometimes longer if they took days off.

some of the rooms have fully stocked pantries with cooking equipment, some have movies like the one described above, some have books you're allowed to just take but people always put back- every day people bring things from the outside. artists often set up galleries there. there are rooms with mattresses and hammocks set up for people to sleep. one of the room is just a place where people leave shoes for the fun of it.

this is Known, it's not a secret by any means. the catacombs are as big as paris itself, and people live there just as people live above. it's wonderful when you think about it.
