HPO second biscuit

the second half of me buying in HPO cafe is ion now that my weekly allowance on Vimeo is finally back!

I filmed myself going into Mcdonalds dressed as a bird and attempted to queue up to buy lunch, but a few minutes into filming we were thrown out by security.

I filmed myself queueing up to buy a biscuit and eating it sitting at a table, but warily like a bird behaves with people about. I had to prepare the correct change beforehand to avoid the hassle of receiving change (it was so difficult to hold coins in gloves), I dressed in my bird costume. I bought biscuits twice and filmed twice, hence the name, however because I've run out of my weekly allotted space on vimeo that I have to upload my videos on before being able to place on this site, the second half of the HPO videos is not on yet

Plates Edited 28.4.17

Paper plates left from eating cake from bloc exhibition, I like the random marks left over from chocolate cake marks. There are plates and bowls for different marks.

This video was simply a clip of me eating and swaying slightly as if balancing on the bar attached to the feeder, and a still shot of my feeder, then keying them together, adjusting my scale so I match the feeder, I also put a tube of paper displaying hamburgers inside so that it is obvious I'm eating human food. this is so that i am in the birds position, relying on the feeder aka someone else to feed me. However as a result I am now eating off the walls of the feeder not the hole in it, I may redo this bending down.

This is the third video in my exhibition video ‘ Birdchase’, and I also wanted to wait until after the exhibition to post this.

This was another video from my exhibition video ‘Birdchase’.

I attempted to compare a bird being disturbed by a laughing toddler to a human in the same situation. I debated with wearing a yellow beak and therefore being a blackbird or a black beak - a crow, the difference being a crow takes it food as it runs while a blackbird abandons it. My feet are inspired by Marcus Coates ‘Stoat’, while his footwear makes him mimic an stoat, my birdfeet forces me to lift my feet like a pigeon would ( I observed a city pigeon walking beforehand, not a crow but it is the only bird take will allow me to get close enough). This was originally going to be the only video shown in the exhibition but because it was too short I decided to add ‘Worm’ and ‘Feeder’ in too and for spoiler reasons I also did not want to post any of the three videos before showing at the exhibition.

Queue was made by filming multiple footages of me walking up to a spot and stopping then waiting and layering all of them together over a background. I marked the spots so I can queue in a row and not walk into each other, however I forgot to mark the place of the table so had to adjust everyone’s position as not to walk into it. This is a part of my exhibition piece ‘ Birdchase’ so I did not want to post this before the exhibition date; 5.4.17 (see extract).

The Baal think Tank exhibition was last Wednesday on the 5th of April 6.00pm onwards at 5 Parkfield Place in Highfield, Sheffield.

My work Birdchase was projected in an upstairs bedroom on the wall, and once it got dark, a white sheet was hung on the garden back wall and the film loop was shown against this which looked really effective..

Bird costume - half tone screen print - 3rd April 2017

On the third week I made a half tone print from a photograph I took last year of me as a black bird holding a worm. The result impressed me so much I will make more screen prints from these images later in the month.

On the second week of printmaking I made a two colour print; I did the first colour on the second week and the second colour over it on the third

I took a three week long printmaking workshop; but for certain reasons I signed up to the wrong class at first, so I actually started on the second week I made a simple one colour print.

We all desire flight, I am flying in the sky. I added sound to add to the feel of flight. Problem was that greenscreen wasn't totally green, after keying the step is clearly visible as well as some curves in walls and in zooming out the sides of the greenscreen is included as well.
