I was wrong. I get that now. I never thought things would turn out this way. the familiarity of the place calmed the prince soon enough when they entered the tea room. it made him feel more—welcomed and free from the eyes of judging strangers. daehyun took off his cap, something he wouldn’t do outside due to his fear of letting everyone know who he is, and followed somi to where she wanted to sit.

"more than okay, actually." he said, pushing a seat for somi to sit on. though he wished somi didn’t see the stares coming from the others—people here weren’t that—-friendly towards the commoners. but since she had daehyun with her, they couldn’t kick her out.

it was actually rare for the prince to bring someone else to the said place, and when the waiter came to their table—with that knowing smile of his and all—for their orders, daehyun had to give him a look telling how he’s not supposed to reveal the prince’s identity to somi and rather, treat him just like any other customer. “i’ll just have a cup of matcha tea,” then turned to her. “you should try their blended teas—if you’re not that fond with traditional tea.” 

daehyun shrugged after the waiter left, eyes taking a quick scan of the place before looking back at somi. “well, i’m not really sure.” he scratched the back of his neck, “i just like it here—it’s peaceful and less intimidating..” 

"and, they serve the best cheesecakes in town!" maybe the prince had said it a bit too loud that the table right next to them gave them an annoyed look. jung daehyun sheepishly smiled and nodded in apology, "but they really do. you should try them."

Listening to Daehyun made her smile. He was definitely at ease in this place and that pleased her. It was clear on his face that he was not used to being outside, whatever the reason was behind that she would not ask. There was something about giving a person enough space to be their own person that she was quit fond of.

Nodding her head she smiled at the waiter, "I'll have the same as him." She was not that familiar with teas to be honest, so might as well go with something that he was familiar with as well. Boba milk tea and coffee were her go to drinks, but she was not afraid to try something new.

Laughing quietly at his antics she smiled back at him to set him at ease, "If you will have a piece with me I am all for it." Taking a quick scan around her she noted that this was probably the kind of place that people of high status came too. It was very posh and everyone looked to be sitting in the perfect posture.

Turning to look back at Daehyun she tilted her head in thought, he seemed normal enough but then sight was always deceiving. Grabbing the napkin that was to the right of her she smoothed her fingers across it, "I don't exactly know who you are and I typically don't go out to have tea with strangers, but I am going to just go out in a limb and say that I trust you. I don't know what it is but I know you are someone that is really important. I am not going to pry and ask exactly who, but I trust you."

In that moment the waiter came back and set their teas in front of them, "Thank you."
