Feeling Pain During Intercourse Could Be Related To An Underlying GYN Condition
If you’re feeling pain during intercourse, it could be linked to a number of factors, including STIs, UTIs, vaginismus (spasms in pelvic floor muscles), hormonal changes, allergies, or even fibroids and endometriosis.
Persistent pain during intercourse should be discussed with a physician in case there’s a more serious cause. In the case of endometriosis, only laparoscopy can diagnose it. An ultrasound can detect fibroids, but if left untreated they will continue to grow, possibly threatening fertility.
