Choosing a Best Pediatrician for Your Child
From the time that you discover, you will be a new parent till your child is an independent adult, there are so many decisions to make. From choosing that perfect stroller, to choosing a pediatrician for your baby, and many more. Just as you would do in depth research before you purchase a baby stroller, reading stroller buying guides, stroller reviews, etc., choosing a pediatrician is a very important decision, as you will have a relationship with this doctor until your child is 18 years old. Many woman begin interviewing pediatricians during their pregnancy.
A pediatrician is a medical specialist that practices solely, in the care of infants, children and adolescents. Pediatricians provide preventive care to healthy children as well as medical attentions to children who are ill. They offer physical, mental and emotional support to the parents and children as well. The basic services that a pediatrician should provide are,
Monthly or yearly examinations to evaluate child's growth and development
Immunizations
Detecting and diagnosing developmental delays
Diagnosing common illnesses in children, such as strep throat or ear infections
Prescriptions for medication when necessary
Finding the right pediatrician in Delhi, many times is done through word of mouth, or hearsay. Speak to friends and relatives, about their experiences with the pediatric doctors in your area. Prepare a list of important factors that you (personally) require in a pediatrician. Some parents have preferences in genders, ages or size of practices of the pediatrician. You can even have a short interview with the doctors in question. These are some important questions you may want to ask your friends or relatives about the pediatricians.
Do you feel that the pediatrician listens intently to your questions and concerns
Does the pediatrician know how to relate to young children?
Does your pediatrician explain things clearly to the parents?
How long do you usually wait in the waiting room for your turn?
Does the pediatrician respect your choices in regard to your child?
What is his educational background?
Is the waiting room sterile and clean? Are there separate areas for sick and well kids?
Which hospital does he/she send children to, in case of an emergency?
Who answers emergency calls after hours?
Will my health insurance plan be accepted in your office?
Once you have chosen the pediatrician in Delhi, you should make an appointment as soon as your baby is born. Follow your pediatrician’s instructions as to how often, you need to see him for well visits, within the first year. If you have questions or concerns about your baby's feeding or sleeping habits, make sure to ask them when you go. Do not be embarrassed to ask the pediatrician anything that concerns you. It is your child, and you want to make sure you are doing the right things. Your pediatrician is there for you.

Dr. Praveen Suman - 11 Ways To Improve Kids Memory Power
Social Development in Early Childhood
We, the humans are social creature abiding by the norms of the society. If we have to live within it, we have to adhere to the social norms and the defined ways of behavior within the society. If we are not social enough problems start creeping in. We may think that a child birth is the most crucial thing to happen but in fact, the journey just starts there. When a child reaches his early childhood, he enters into the first step of complexity in life. The child starts developing its own self. As he grows up, starts going out, starts to go to school, classes, social gatherings he has to present his self as an individual one. And when the child is there under constant judging of others in the society, a social development in early childhood is a must!
Social development in early childhood is that crucial thing that enables the child ensure an over-all health, well-being and happiness that he will be carrying throughout his lifetime. Social development is all the more a result of cognitive and emotional development. These three altogether makes the child develop relationships with people, good and effective communication with others, thinking ability, coping with stressful situations, taking decisions in difficult situations, and many other skills. A child's development starts primarily when she/he enters the school.
School plays a pivotal role in finding out whether the child has got required social development skills or not. In fact, in most of the cases school helps a child to slowly develop the social skills he lacks. If the situation is worse, i.e., the child is not at all showing any sign of social or emotional development then the parents are suggested to seek a professional's help. From age 3 to 5 the child is much exposed to all kinds of good and odds of society. Therefore, these 3 years are considered as the most crucial years of social development for children. According to the social development parameters between ages 3 to 4 a child should begin to share toys and things and accordingly take turns, understand instructions, imagine characters and start pretend playing, show signs of independence. Between age 4-5 the child should begin friendship to other children, shows an understanding of right and wrong, understand other people's feelings and such many more positive behavior. And if the child in these years shows no interest in playing with other children, unable to share, very much rigid to any kind of change then it's surely alarming!
