It was almost instinctual that his eyes darken at the comment, he was loathsome since that day of rejection. His life as boy was anything but happy, his father belittling him and his brother restlessly bullying him and just when he thought he was worthy of something more that too was ripped from his grasp. “The world isn’t a happy place, Billy Batson, it’s meant to destroy your soul, why not give it a nudge along.”

He has no patience to deal with the child and in that instance he grabs him by the front of his shirt and lifts him into the air.

“You tried to kill me, man. You befriended actual sins. I mean, a lot of people got hurt, and a lot could have gotten killed. What good is power if you’re just going to use it to be a gigantic bully? You watch the news, right? Name one supervillian who’s come out on top. It doesn’t happen.” He didn’t have to be a walking encyclopedia on supers, like Freddy, to know that. 

Thaddeus isn’t a man with the greatest understanding of patiences and with each word that passes the others lips you can see the annoyance growing, his jaw tensing, his eyes darkening. “In the scheme of things life is trivial, the human race has evolved to be nothing more than than horde of sins themselves, disvaluing those with innocence and warping them into whatever it is they desire.” For a moment he’s silent, “Are not the men in power villain, corrupt, egotistical, ran by guilt. Clearly it’s advantageous.”

“It’s funny really you think such heroics can save the world when the world was made to tear down what you are.” It’s clear in his face that Thaddeus is less than pleased with the turn of evens, with heroes, with humanity itself.
