when you can feel her heartbeat thumping faster and harder under your fingers with every flick and lick to her nips

when they hug or spoon you from behind, and you can feel their heartbeat against your back

when you’re kissing so close, you can’t tell apart their pounding heart from yours

your heartbeat reacting to their heartbeat reacting to yours

when your hearts are pounding so hard, you can hear each other without an ear steth

the thought that an intangible idea can make your physical heart race

when you lean in to kiss them, hand over their chest, and their heart starts immediately thumping against your hand

your hands are over the left side of their chest

you compliment one of their many, many positive features

they casually brush it off - but their sped up heart rate alongside the skipped beats underneath your palm tells no lies

the dichotomy drives you wild

when you know they’re so close because of how hard their heart is pounding underneath your hand

when you’re kissing the love of your life,

chests pressed up against one another

and your hearts beating in tandem - and suddenly feels like one.
