I'm long overdue to read Bruce Sterling. I'm not very far into the book, but I'm far enough to realize that this isn't Laura Webster on the cover; it's Reverend Morgan, from the Church of Ishtar!
Anyway, this retro cyberpunk cover gives me life.

Sangamon Taylor (for Inktober)
Sangamon Taylor, the protagonist and narrator of Neal Stephenson's eco-thriller Zodiac" (1988), which I am currently reading for the second time (the first being years ago). It's Stephenson's second novel, and as such isn't perfect. But I love how much it is an unintentional period piece of the year I was born. I could have waited until I had better markers, but didn't. The limited resources that went into this picture actually fits the character and story perfectly.
"Zodiac" isn't cyberpunk, but anything Neal Stephenson is relevant to this blog.
For all it’s faults, I really enjoyed reading SevenEves by Neal Stephenson. I’m dubious about the scientific or anthropological viability of the various “races” but they were fun to draw!
Ivyn: Asian features with a sense of laid-back intellectualism
Dinan: I wanted to preserve Dinah’s Irish heritage as well as give a sense of nobility and heroism.
Teklan: strong and Russian
Moiran: to be honest, I wasn’t sure what to draw for the Moirans, so I just tried for African features with light colored eyes.
Julian: big eyes and small mouth for a “cute” look and I gave him a friar haircut to represent religious orders.
Camite: androgynous Pakistani in a hijab
Neoander: modernized Neanderthal, with some Italian features mixed in.
Beta: a Puckish looking woman, vaguely ant-like
Aretaic: cruelly regal features and long black hair, though he looks a bit like a goth rocker without makeup
Jinn: mad-scientist with technological enhancement
Extat: I head-canoned this to be an abbreviation of “extreme attitude” and thus a religiously-minded sect that rivals the Julians. I gave him piercings and alien looking eyes after Eve Aïda.
I’ll try to draw the Diggers and Pingers soon!
Nice work! "Seveneves" was definitely interesting, despite its wall-banging plot holes. (Like, how are these races staying so "pure" after centuries of living in close proximity to each other?)
Ill probably attempt to touch this up later so sorry its really wonky and weird but theyre invading my brain
Great work, looking forward to seeing it colored if that's the plan.
I very well may die of laughter at the absolute ironic perfection of the Google AI getting this particular line from this particular book wrong. I am gasping. I am also glad the AI hasn't read any cyberpunk.
The Deliverator belongs to an elite order, a hallow subcategory. He's got esprit up to here. Right now, he is preparing to carry out his third mission of the night. His uniform is black as activated charcoal, filtering the very light out of the air.

One of if not the best Y.T. cosplays I've seen yet!
That amazing moment when your vision starts to come to life… You’ll see me in it soon enough, I promise! #cosplay #snowcrash
Incredible!
I didn't imagine the barcodes to be so literal, but looking at various cosplays, I seem to be in the minority.
Otherwise this is very close to what I always picture when reading the book.
This is one of the best "Snow Crash" cosplays I've seen to date!
I first read REAMDE by Neal Stephenson in eighth grade and I imagined the main character (Dodge) as looking like my seventh grade social studies teacher. And then later, like in high school, I read Dodge in Hell (sequel) and boom same guy. I literally can't remember his face unless I reread either of those books. My seventh grade teacher whose name I don't even remember is permanently cast as Dodge in my weird brain-movie of REAMDE.
Surely I've been cast in somebody's vision of a book, right? Not even necessarily someone I know closely, but maybe just like an old classmate thinks Randy Waterhouse from Cryptonomicon looks like me. Or it could be a book that's not by Neal Stephenson too I guess
I can't believe that in all my life as a bookaholic this never crossed mind. Because I've always done the same thing. Several of Harry Potter's classmates definitely resemble people I vaguely knew in elementary school.
been reading Snow Crash and i really like it. charmed by the dynamic of Hiro being Theoretically the Coolest Person You’ll Ever Meet (ninja super hacker, caries swords around, roommates with a rock star) and YT being Much Cooler Than Him (15 year old skater girl)
It's been too long since I saw some new "Snow Crash" art. This is fantastic! I love the vibrant style.
Progress on Y.T. IT’S HAPPENING, FINALLY. #cosplay #cosplayprogress #snowcrash
Look! Progress!
This is amazing! Did you make this entire jacket from scratch?

Finally finished editing and uploading my old Sprawl stories. I wanted to get them up before the new "Neuromancer" show hits Apple TV.
"Michael:" Very short story about the three loves of Case's life. And why the least remarkable was the most special to him.
"Send Me A Postcard:" Molly visits the Finn's construct once more, after the events of "Mona Lisa Overdrive"
"Shears:" Snippet where Kumiko asks Molly how her claws and lenses actually work.
"Chrome Meltdown:" The last night of Chrome after her defeat by Bobby Quine and Automatic Jack
"Eye for a Dream:" Rikki from "Burning Chrome" meets Molly Millions, some shit goes down
"Daughter of the Loa:" Set after "Mona Lisa Overdrive." Angie Mitchell explores her new existence, and meets the aliens from "The Hinterlands"
"Mona Lisa:" Mona decides she's tired of being "Angie Mitchell."
A new version of 'Neuromancer' from The Folio Society has just dropped. Here's why this is a must for cyberpunk fans everywhere.

Funky (and pricy) new edition of the book.
I've been in London this weekend and I just saw them filming for the new Neuromancer TV show that they're doing! The costumes looked brilliant, it's very exciting
