"We go back a while." [Naturally, Trip provides Mizuki with the most vague of explanations. The blond idly runs the tip of his middle finger over the rim of the glass, wetting it with the beer and trying to make it ring. Misinformed. He wants to hear it ring, but with the type of glass he was given, it’s impossible.]
"…" [Tries swiveling his finger a little faster, but gives up at some point. What a disappointment. He looks back up at the other male.]
"...I see. So I imagine you knew him before me with those words?"
Noticing the other's actions of playing around with the glass and how quiet it seemed to have gotten between them, Mizuki becomes a little unsure of what else to say. He figures he should make conversation with Trip but he wasn't sure of how.
He looks away and let's out a small breath, a sigh low enough that the other might not take notice if he wasn't paying attention.
This man was a mystery to him and he didn't want to end up saying something that could offend or upset the other or hint off towards how suspicious he felt. He had wanted to ask if he really just came here for something to drink but that felt like it would give him away entirely.
When he looks back at Trip, he notices that the other is looking at him. He almost bites his lip, trying to think of what to say but tries something just so the air between them wouldn't get awkward.
"Just what were you trying to do with that glass? It won't ring, you know." He knows that the other was attempting such a thing, a lot of others that would come in, would try the same thing and wonder why the glass wouldn't make that ringing noise. "You need a different type of glass to make it more possible."
