do you know any gl series where one of the struggles is accepting themselves as lesbian?

uhm, so, that's a tricky one. the first one that came into mind was actually she loves to cook and she loves to eat. it's a japanese gl which has one of the protagonists figuring out her sexuality later in life and she struggles quite a bit with it in the first season. @pamrak reminded me of fragrance of the first flower, a taiwanese gl that also has one of the protagonists struggling with her sexuality on the first season. kat also suggested poisonous love, and to some degree whale store xoxo, with chom struggling to come out.

i also thought of 23.5 with ongsa, but her internalized homophobia is also more about coming out and not to much accepting herself as a lesbian.

i'll direct you to @gl-saveme because i think michelle is a lot more qualified to give you more accurate recommendations though.

hi hi anon didn't ask me, but i agree with you bibi (and kat!) i think prem, ongsa, and chompoo are probably the strongest examples we've had in thai gl when it comes to actually showing that internal struggle (more often than not the parent's aka external struggle haha). here's a some others examples at varying degrees of this tho if anon is still interested!

girl rules - part of min's storyline (doesn't specifically identify as lesbain) shades - part of sophie's storyline (dw she explores it but warning about that mom jeez) muteluv hello is this luck - na is more in denial than struggling (and keeps falling into bed with a woman yet also gets a boyfriend) roller coaster - air kind of? (more so struggles to be out to her mom with her relationship to a woman, things happen and we domino effect into a messy wlw love triangle) mate - gen very briefly questions her feelings (but consults this show's version of pamrak actually) the secret of us - earn technically breaks up with lada in ep 1 claiming she likes men not women so fahlada actually has to struggle with that one (even tho we know earn is lying) chaser game w - fuyu ends up having a hole husband and child (again this is kind of bc of the mother) honorable mention: pamrak in us the novel (not really part of the show's plot tho)

#i don't know if it's really a struggle with being a lesbian #but Even Though We're Adults #but Ayano has to accept herself later in life #(I really enjoyed that series very much)
