i know this definitely isn’t a new observation and i wish i could put it into better words but there really is something to be said about mickey and ian being broken up before mickey got locked up in s6 and mickey still getting ian’s name tattooed all big on his chest anyway

something about mickey knowing ian was lying when he said he’d wait for him to get out of jail and him still letting the thought of them being together get him through it, his confidence during the dock scene in 7x10 that ian would give in regardless of whether or not he chose to move on, mickey literally getting himself thrown in prison for him (not knowing if he had another boyfriend or not by now) with no doubt in his mind that he would be just as happy to see him as he was to see ian

mickey somehow knowing that they’d find their way back to each other in the end? no matter what separated them? too much to be said

when carl said he got ian and mickey edible boxers for their wedding i really hope he was serious cuz that’s funny as fuck

season 1 gallavich means a lot to me actually. the way ian is already so gone on mickey from the jump. the way mickey acts like it’s not a big deal but shows up where ian is. mickey’s little looks when he thinks ian isn’t looking. ian’s first instinct being to run to mickey the moment things go wrong. mickey’s first instinct being to comfort him in the only way he really knows how at the time. the way ian opens up to him about missing him. mickey’s knee jerk reaction to be one of violence, but the moment ian doesn’t rise to his bullshit, and instead gives him a smile, mickey reciprocates. he gets all shy and looks away. ian taking it a step further, reaching out a hand. mickey being scared that the other people might see them. it’s so, so real and it breaks my heart.
