This is the official blog for the Orange Bay Dungeon Research Division, shortened to OBDRD, or colloquially called the Dungeon Busters. Here you'll find any and all publicly available information regarding dungeons and dungeon research within the state of Washington.

PSAs and warnings will be posted here as soon as they possibly can be. For the most up to date alerts and news, refer to your local news station and their alert system.

This blog is an in character/in universe blog for a group of creatives who play TTRPGs together in an anthro Pokemon, alt-Earth future setting we call Dungeon Busters!

There are multiple people running this blog! Below is some brief information about all of us and who we play on here! <3

Eevyern/Reuben any pronouns I play as Jacek Wrona, an Umbreon (he/him)! He also has an in character blog over at @alien-moon~! He's the leading field researcher in the Dungeon Busters, and has been in the company since it's inception in the fall of 2060. He's going to be one of the few people regularly speaking on here. He's also an emo gamer loser.

milo :) he/him/vi/vin I play as Blitz Creeke, a Jolteon/Arcanine hybrid (she/he). She likely won't post often unless specifically prompted bc she's an unprofessional piece of shit but she's here in spirit! She's been here since the beginning so he has normal feelings about dungeons and how they effect people (like herself) <3

Cam he/she/they/any I play Giancarlo Parimango (he/him), a Joltik car mechanic and street racer. He was kind of the main push for this to be made, so he's willing to answer any questions that he knows the answers to!

Eight she/her I play Cillian Callaghan (she/her), a Talonflame punk who isn't acting less unemployed just because she has a job. Her body was substantially altered in a dungeon (she's a grass type now) so she'll have shit to say, though probably not politely.

Mimi she/her/it/its I play Dahlia Belrose (she/her), a Floette in her 30s and former Amazon delivery driver. She is... out of her depth, and more than one person has told her she "doesn't need to worry about" posting. But she'll probably still do it, and answer stuff if asked

Rhogar she/her I play Vess Duval (she/her), a Corvisquire cosplayer, costume designer, punk fashion lover, and rebel who’s here to claim her place in the world. The dangers of dungeons have personally impacted her life, so she’ll have plenty to (loudly) share to keep everyone safe.

Kitkat she/her + bon/bon neos I play Millie "Mils" Tulson (she/her), a young Minccino heiress and artist! She's spending her gap year helping the community with the Dungeon Busters. She'll be happy to chime in where she has some info!

Regarding the Lake Sammamish Dungeon

As you may have seen on the news, the dungeon that formed at Lake Sammamish kept multiple members of the Hill family within for multiple hours.

Now we are aware of some rumors that the dungeon remained untouched for multiple days, but we should clarify that dungeons are not just spatial anomalies, but temporal as well.

Within the walls of a dungeon, severe time dilation can occur. What occurred last week during the Lake Sammamish dungeon was one of these such cases.

Time within the dungeon shifted between a sunny afternoon and a summer sunset every couple hours. However, outside of the dungeon, only six hours had passed.

Nobody within the dungeon was at risk of any physical harm, not from the time dilation nor from the dungeon itself.

The Lake Sammamish dungeon was a weaker dungeon, benign in its danger to civilians. The victims of the dungeon have a right to be stressed about the situation they were placed in, but we here at OBDRD want the public to be aware that no deaths occurred, and no civilians were harmed within.

A more thorough report regarding the dungeon that formed at Lake Sammamish is still being worked on. Information for the public regarding past dungeons that have formed in the Orange Bay region of Washington will be posted in the oncoming weeks.

Dungeon Safety

As a civilian, the best way to be safe within a dungeon is to avoid interaction with/detection by any dungeon beings. Barring that, attempt to find a place to hide, and wait for first responders to arrive.

First responder Dungeon Busters are now required to wear mandatory pins, but many dungeons will alter the clothing of those who enter, or will require a change in clothing for comfort or safety. We will make ourselves known to anyone we believe is a civilian and do what we can to keep them safe.

Every dungeon is a unique experience, there is no one right way to handle them at large. When the first responders arrive, they will take the time to research the dungeon and find out how best to manage the dungeon.

REMINDER: As a civilian, the best way to be safe within a dungeon is to avoid interaction with/detection by any dungeon beings.

It may be necessary to help someone in need. While we cannot guarantee your safety in action without an OBDRD member present, we must trust civilians to use their best judgement in the case of an emergency.

What Are Dungeons?

Dungeons are spatial temporal anomalies that warp the reality surrounding a center point. This center point is sometimes called a core, a source, or a heart. For the purposes of this blog, we will be referring to this center point as a heart.

A dungeon's heart can form from various things that are still being researched. Some sources that have been confirmed are:

An object with a lot of history

A person with strong convictions

The collective unconsciousness

As one might imagine, this can make dungeon prevention nearly impossible. We here at OBDRD hope that this blog will educate anyone with any concerns about dungeons.
