Like the trees above me I am rooted, deeper than you see I am connected to everything And everything to me The wind is strong The rain drives down But I stand tall, reaching for the clouds As the sun warms my skin I am alive, I am free I am one with the all And the all one with me

“I love that sweet smell of decay that surrounds me in forests and woods. A kind of mulchy, deep, rich rot that has no connotation of death or ending, but rather of life and age. A sense of perpetual destruction and rebirth.”
— Unknown (via crownedcorvid)
“I wanted to be imprisoned in the dying shimmer of a word, to raise the echo of a past emotion. I wanted to escape to the world of the forest, its dark meditations,”
— Rabbe Enckell, tr. by David McDuff, from Nordic Voices; “The Goods Wagon,”
“There is an endless forest within my heart. An endless cosmos within my soul. If you love me, if you dare, prepare to be lost beneath leafy boughs and starry skies. Prepare to see eternity within my eyes.”

The untamed resides in my insides
Shedding the human skin that revives
As the darkness of the night cloaks my eyes
I am reborn and my spirit flies
I hunt in the shadows between the worlds
And I weave the thread of the three spinners through powerful words
Gaze within my eyes and you shall see the abyss
The great shade behind the mirror, to me your fears you shall submiss
The ancient ways I tread as the forest guides my step
The path of the hidden, veiled to mortal men fooled
Their ambitions, illusions and pride by hate are ruled
Pace inside the circle with the sharp blade at your heart
Leave your weapons on the ground, embrace the in between, realm apart
Echoes of the dead, as above so below
I am the arcane, in this world, unknown
To speak of the unspeakable
To unveil the meaning of the dawn and of the shadows where I lay
Where all things merge, where all is found
My blade is truth, my blade is the word
Uttered upon creation, the first name
The first riddle, the first spell
When all was still nameless
My blade is the honor of my soul
My blade is forged by immortal fire
My blade is my truth and my vow
My blade is my sorrow and will
My blade is what cuts the veil of Maya
It is the thorn that shields the rose
And I have dwelled in darkness
To wield such power in the light of justice
I might have fallen to its weight
I might have been broken countless lives before
So I could learn how to dance its deadly dance
So I could become its edge and its spirit
Me, and my divine blade
Of the relentless warrior that never dies
But only rises again each time
Longer nights and shorter days,
The arcane mystery in between dusk and day,
In the sharp cold wind, the shadows carry me,
I longed in darkness, so the darkness I became
While others curse the call of winter, I take a bow
To the roots of naked trees, I make a vow
To walk the path of nightfall, to dance with the untamed
For I carry my own fire within; distorted lies cannot keep me chained
In the world of men, I am just a wanderer
With words of power, eternity's devout sorcerer
I have come to bring you knowledge, if you dare to see it
Would you dare to gaze within nature's feral eyes?
Would you dare to speak truth against the blade of the wise?
Would you walk away, or walk beside me?
As uncertain illusions deceive, sorrow illuminates my sight
As I face tortuous paths to guide towards true light
That lies not in the loudest hymns of our times
But among the stars, within the land, deep in the night
