Well, I spent a lot of time on this, most likely made a lot of mistakes, but I’m still glad I did it, it was a good experience

Hiii! :D I just found your blog, and I absolutely love and adore your OC Mia so much! She's very gorgeous!

May I ask what were your thought process when you made and design Mia? And why?

When I created her design, I based it on the fox's face in nature, as well as Ren (his hair resembles a fox's face, so I assumed all beastmen have one, so Mia's hair is also shaped like that, mmm, and even then I tried drawing it differently, but it didn't help much, haha).

Similarly, I decided that the beastman markings would be on her body, not her face, because if I drew markings on a fox's face (even a different species), it would create even more problems when I drew her next to Ren, haha.

However, even the fact that she's blonde, has big ears, and different facial features didn't save me from comparisons, but that's okay, I knew it would happen, haha.

And Mia is an old character, from my days of drawing on paper. I don't have any old drawings of her, but I have some ideas in my head. I once designed her for BTD2 (so I kept her as a fennec fox as a nod to my past self... and I still like fennec foxes, they're cute).

Also, I needed to portray her in a vulnerable position, even in terms of height (fennecs are smaller than foxes), so I decided to make her short, so that Ren would feel stronger in every way for the first time, and this would create a certain "hierarchy" in Strade house. So that Ren would feel confident in comparison to her.

I found my old sketches, designed almost a year ago, as well as sketches that I had not published anywhere because I was not sure about the designs (I still think about the appearance of Mia's parents, but the fact is that she was raised alone by her father until she was 19-20 years old, after she had to live on her own, her father died due to illness, he was a fierce workaholic)

Yes, that's literally my last animation, where they decide to talk about it a week after the incident, because they're both feeling terrible about it.

Strade used this as a method of punishment for Mia because she relaxed and allowed herself to snap, and he put Ren in a position of authority in this "mini-hierarchy" from the very beginning, like he literally forced him to do it with the "show me who's boss since she won't listen" attitude. Ren had previously warned Mia that she needed to be careful with her language and tried to warn her, but Mia ignored it. As a result, Strade interpreted this as Ren not being an authority figure for Mia and decided to force her to obey in a very... animalistic way, I guess I'll call it that.

Actually, this is a difficult episode, which I don't know how to draw without getting banned for cruelty, so...
