"I DON'T CARE!" McCoy tosses over his shoulder, already moving to fetch it. His voice drops to a murmur. "Damn thing'll probably explode with my luck."
Any science experiment you need to bring an honest-to-god shield into probably isn't worth running, at least not outside of a highly controlled environment. Certainly not in the middle of the kitchen. What if somebody were to walk through the door right now? He shudders to think of it, but because Leonard is nothing if not dedicated to picking up the pieces of messes like these, he sidles over to get partially behind the shield with Lahabrea once he returns with his medical kit slung over his shoulder. Fidgeting with the strap of it, he gives the other man a surprised sideways glance.
"What, seriously?" And here he thought he just did the scaled-up equivalent of taping knives together. "How much time did you put into this thing?"
"A week, gathering material, calculating speed and trajectory. It is the hassle of daily living that stopped me from completing within the day."
groceries, sleep, exercise, teach. Money, everything else inbetween, there was so much actually to do but right now it was just a time to relax when he puts in new inventions.
He has a button on his hands, gripped tightly as he states through the see through shield.
"Are you coming in ,or not? I'm going to turn it on in 10...9...8...-

"I can shave off that same surface area with one potato peeler, so I think your math is a little off." Though he's half-tempted to have him prove it, because if a ball of knives is really the optimal way to do things then there's something deeply wrong with whatever galaxy this is.
He's honestly not sure he can change his mind either way, though - this city fosters too many bored people, no wonder everyone gets up to so much stupid crap. Leonard hates to sound like he's relenting, but does just that when he rolls his gaze skyward in another silent plea for mercy.
"Look, if you're seriously dead-set on testing this at least let me get my medical kit. I'd like to be on standby to sew your finger back on when things go south."
"Of course I won't be nearby when it activates, I am a researcher."
He's standing behind a raised shield that was remarkably hand made and filled with red decals that reminded people of the phoenix bird of legend from myth. it was a nice touch but the project required some serious handiwork.
"The potato will be installed in the middle of the sphere." he says like its obvious.
"Its automatic, after all."
"TOO LONG— yeah, you know what's gonna take longer? Reattaching your hand!" Leonard waggles his fingers for emphasis, trailing after him ( not that there's any need, given the space in the kitchen ). Don't get him wrong, the Enterprise has been to its fair share of farming colonies, he's seen some pretty abnormally massive vegetables, but none that warranted eight knives.
Maybe he should bring his first aid kit out here...
"No, no more. We're at our limit. Bad enough that you brought this monstrosity into the apartment in the first place. If eight's not gonna cut it, nothing will."
"Are you certain? I calculated that each knife is precise to shave off a certain part of the potato surface area."
Lahabrea calculations were often correct, but he dind't exactly have a peer review incoming at all if he could help it. After all most of the time he worked alone.
"But one more knife wouldn't hurt."
McCOY STARES WITH ABJECT HORROR, standing a good five feet away from the table as if he expects the thing to explode. He's not spoken extensively to those sharing the apartment with him - upon arrival he'd dove straight into hospital work - but he'd at least held the vague hope that they had their wits about them. Now he's starting to worry.
"A potato peeler?" He echoes, incredulous, and gestures towards it like are you seeing this as though the other wasn't the one who walked it right on into the kitchen in the first place. "It's got eight knives. What the hell kind of potato warrants eight knives?"
"A large potato."
Blunt as a statement, usually proud for his speech making skills, Lahabrea had decided to forgone it knowing that results mattered more right now then anything else.
"I will get a potato, in hope this will save time, they take too long to peel..."
"Could you get some more knives?" he asks, already heading for the fridge in his old man pacing..
The devise looked dangerous, spherical and full of blades as Lahabrea sets it down on the table.
"It is a potato peeler."

Life becomes unbearably dull, but peaceful once you get used to your own surroundings. But for one thing that cannot be stopped is Lahabrea urge to experiment, no matter how dull downed he feels every time now.
"It is... somewhat successful."
And Lahabrea is there, looking at a small sphere of sorts on the ground.

A familiar face, and yet blurry all the same. Half a soul, half a memory. He wonders if there is something truly familiar with the one in front of him.
"Your being is familiar, and yet I cannot truly recall the memory of it. We have only just sealed Hephaistos, my errant corrupted half last I remember."
meaning he is still truly a soul sundered, one that could do no wrong because he could not truly feel no wrong.
"But no, this is not of my doing. A power far superior then one I know of. And no true being to focus your ire on."

"Couldn't move at all?" Would there be any challenge then? Granted she was just the one complaining about that sort of thing but something like that seemed wrong somehow.

Being a ancient such as him, Lahabrea who despite being half a soul is someone who is the foremost expert in creation...

"Because i'm short, wittle woman with a BB gun gramps. Men most of the time think to highly of themself and don't do their due diligence. "It's just a woman." That why it's so fun destroying them and watching them beg me to not burn it down. Their temple and the god they worship."
Nobu......take WAY to much joy in that as she sigh. There is a sucky reality even she can not escape.

The plausbility of him ANNHILATING THE POLICE at 100%? For sure. But the her now gonna get taze and thrown into jail as Nobu notice the building where she locked the cultist in is shaking as some of them must have woke up and notice their church is burning as Nobu just smile.

Sure there were some he knew, who fit the ball. Azem for starters, taking what he could to save people, to save imperfections that littered the world. The grapes, think of the grapes. grown without correction and would offend most people he knew of.

What was the police, in the world of the unsundered? Lahabrea been in the underground for so long, its hard to remember anything that pertains to daily life.
"Perhaps we should leave, this body right now is unsuited for combat to aware enemies."
She cracked...a sinister smile as she took the match and light the entire church without a single person in it aflame.
+10 respect points for actually providing the match. Not snitching also help her opinion of him as she watch the place burn.....almost fascinated by the fire itself.
"Honestly if i had it my way i trap all the fool who try to kill me in the burning church. In the old days we would enjoy the screams. Alas this isn't the warring states era anymore and some of my fellows would frown if i get caught by the police. I do have a master i gotta try to behave for after all. You got a name old man? Me? Nobunaga. ODA Nobunaga. You mind calling the cops after the church reduce to a pile of ash? Fire fighter? Nobu don't smoke. Nobu just admire the fire. No she don't get her fancy powers back but they can't stop her from burning shit down.

If Lahabrea knew of the power of names that a servant had, what weakness would Nobunaga actually have? They have fire power -though with enough effort he can replicate everything she does-

Fire is alluring , come too close, too much of it and you burn. Fall into the ground under its awesome power. Lahabrea is well aware of its danger, but finds an attraction to it he can't quiet displace. Perhaps it is renmants of what used to be Hephaistos inside of him.
"You were wronged, and you decided revenge of what your attacks hold dear. A reminder of someone I know of."
He wont' say her name. Or think of it.
"The question is why target you at all. You hardly look weak at all, filled with vitality and youth. And perhaps weapons."
"If they had target other innocents...would it be better to rid of them while there is no one here? I'm certain some will be missed, but they provide a danger to innocents."

Some kind of demon worship of those who tried to break the city. Nobu don't give a shit normally but they tried to kidnapp her and well.....she now locked the cult member in a seprate building while in the process of religious cleaning the only way she know how.

Fire is also something important to the former speaker, his very element speaking of passion and the glorious burn that comes with it. Unfortunately with only half his soul gone, it was...not important right now.
He lacks the passion to be angry about destructive tendencies. Considering that he is used to wide scale destruction with lesser minded but powerful creatures.
"Without proof, I can nether deny or approve your claim. But if a match is what you need..."
He creates a match box with one hand, surely smaller then a tennis ball , within his limits. All magic and quality.
"Would this suffice?"
"That's pretty cool." Which really was just stunned talk for being impressed by someone's ability to do that. If her bosses knew people like this were out there then those recruitment methods would almost never stop...
"Though I guess not having a soul would be pretty bad. I mean I wouldn't want to lose mine that's for sure. Not to mention everything else my body might have absorbed over the years..."

Which is horrifying beyond comprehension if the thing was sentient, but he was just asking to create a flesh golem that doesn't move.
