Today we met with Carolina Angel, the owner of The Loft Hair Studio and Spa.  We wanted to meet up with her to learn more about her, the business and the “salon family” as they like to call it. Here’s what we found out.

How The Business Began:

Carolina has been running the business for over 4 years and has over 12 years of experience in the industry. She had previously worked for another hair salon for 8 years when she felt she had reached the peak of her opportunity there. As she describes it, “I just kinda reached a dead-end. You know, it’s like… where do you go from there?” She looked around at a few other salons that were hiring, but didn’t find anything that would truly fit what she was looking for. In that moment, The Loft Hair Studio And Spa was born.

The Early Years:

When the business first opened it was just Carolina and a receptionist. As the business grew, so did the salon family. She started by hiring a hairdresser, Tiffany. Carolina recalls “When I found Tiffany I think I nearly cried… I was just so thankful to have someone here to help out. And that was just kind of the startup of great things that slowly happen.” And Carolina is right. Over the years, the family has grown to over 14 members who do everything from hair styling, to acupuncture, to nails.

Atmosphere:

The atmosphere here is very inviting. From the moment you walk in you feel welcome and appreciated. The Loft Hair Studio And Spa includes over 14 members of their salon family so there’s no shortage of “hellos” and “welcomes.” In addition the spa has a very homey and relaxing feel to it. As you walk throughout studio and spa, you get the feeling that you’re right at home.

What Sets Them Apart:

The biggest thing that sets them apart from other spas and salons is the wonderful staff of professionals that make you feel welcome and invited. As Carolina describes it, “We’re a salon family here and we want our customers to be a part of it. We have customers that tell us it’s kind of like ‘Cheers’ where everyone knows your name when you come in. We really try to get to know everyone who comes in.” Coupled with the cozy atmosphere and great variety of services, it’s hard to beat.

Upcoming Charity Event:

During our interview we learned that Carolina is hosting a charity event for  local Sheriff Deputy Nate Boggs who was recently diagnosed with cancer. The Loft Studio and Spa will be shaving heads of fellow officers who raised donations. In addition they will be providing spa services with 50% of the proceeds being donated and 20% of all gift cards sold will also go to the charity. The event will be held Saturday July 22nd from 3-6pm
