Do I tag this with my signature catch phrase, âIntriguing Sea Life,â or is âIntrigued Sea Lifeâ more appropriate
An important perspective in light of recent events.
Watch this.Â

Anyone who comes by the DC offices, be sure to stop by my cubicle to read a copy of this and marvel at my three-foot-tall promo poster for this book.

Sapp Coffee Shop, Los Angeles
Iâm always looking for a good bowl of noodles when I travel, especially for breakfast, and last time I was in LA, my buddy Zach Brooks of Food is the New Rock insisted I had to try Sapp Coffee Shop for their amazing Thai noodles. Zack has never steered me wrong and this was one of the best breakfasts Iâve had all year anywhere in the world!
I texted Zach when I was on my way to Sapp that morning and his reply simply read, âBe sure to order the #3!â, which is exactly what I did.
âDo you like spicy?â, my waitress asked.
âYes.â, I replied.
âHow spicy?â, which is always a loaded question in Thai restaurants.
âMedium spicy, I guess?â, I sheepishly told/asked her, hoping for the best.
And it was.
This bowl of beef and broth was near perfect!
According to their menu, #3 is âBoat noodle soup with beefââŠ
However, their #2 is also âBoat noodle soup with beefâ. When I inquired as to what the difference is, I was told that the #2 is âjust normal beefâ, while the #3 is âall the beefâ, which is exactly what I wanted!
Sliced beef, beef meatballs, beef tendon and beef liverâŠ
Then when you dig through the ultra rich beef broth to the bottom of the bowl, youâll also find delicate, thin strips of tripe waiting for youâŠ
The only thing not beefy about this bowl is the pork skin crackling they put on top!
Oh, and superb those boat noodlesâŠ
Itâs like ramen met glass noodles and had a baby!
Just look at the way the beef bits and chiles stick to themâŠ
All this gastronomic goodness for only six bucks!!
As if Sappâs beef boat noodles werenât enough to wake me up, I also got a glass of their Thai iced coffeeâŠ
This was indeed a breakfast that canât be beat, and one everyone whoâs ever in Los Angeles should hit Sappâs to taste for themselves!
