How do I explain to a cis person that my gender is the early morning mist that fills a dark forest, trees so tall they brush the clouds underbelly, and fog so thick it chokes the air? How do I convey that my gender is the curtains of sunshine falling through the antlers of an elder deer? How do I communicate that my gender is the shadows that fade into the night under a flickering streetlight?
Cis people hear that and think I'm possessed.
The clans should be more culturally divided
I think it would be really cool to see different cultures between the clans in Warriors. My first thought is that different prey scarcity would impact how hierarchy and respect are understood in each clan. For Riverclan, where they are known to be fat year round from plentiful fish, eating would be far more of a casual ordeal, while Windclan, who have a very small list of prey to eat in the first place, would have much stricter rules around food. For example, to eat out of turn would get you on dawn patrol for a month. To share your food with another would be like announcing your mateship. To eat before bringing prey back to the clan would be a punishable offence, a serious breach of the warrior code.
In Shadowclan, where stealth and stalking ability is highly regarded, it would be cool to see a more hushed culture, talking in whispers so as not to frighten prey. Cats who are raised to be quiet at all times so as to ambush both prey and foes with perfect silence. Perhaps raising your voice could be seen as a show of disrespect to other clan mates, and at gatherings they might be the least likely to mingle, most put off by the rowdy volume of the other clans.
In Thunderclan, where fighting ability is one of their greatest strengths, perhaps fights and sparring is not seen as hostility but as friendly play. The whole clan is covered in scars from each of their friends, their relationship marred into each others flesh, a show of loyalty to their clan and a display that even the sharpest of claws cannot tear them apart. Maybe to refuse to fight someone is to disrespect them, to refuse to have their strength sketched into your skin is akin to declaring war.
It could be another way to differentiate the clans through culture and environment, emphasising that the clans are vastly opposed. It would add more conflict to half clan cats beyond the 'code' and add a cultural divide. It would make the transition of leaving your clan for another all the more difficult, and all the more rewarding when you adjust and join in with the practices of your new clan, truly becoming one.
