Not an Ending, But a Turning

I have carried the weight of my missteps, heavy stones dropped in waters too calm, sending ripples across a heart I meant to protect. The echoes of those moments still reach me— reminders of how fragile care can be.

I know I hurt you, not from malice, but from being human, from stumbling where I should have stood steady. And yet, those mistakes do not crown me; they are chapters, not the whole of my name. We have loosened our grip on “what was,” not to let go of each other, but to breathe into something new. Not lovers, not what we were before— something softer, something real, a bond that bends without breaking.

I will not let guilt be the author of our story. Instead, I choose to grow— to honor the lessons carved by pain, to treasure the quiet grace we’ve found in simply being here, together, still connected, still grateful. And in this space, where the past does not chain us, I can love where we are now— not as a shadow of what we lost, but as the light of what we’ve become.
