rlly fascinating phenomenon to me is when a character is extremely popular, and that popularity seems understandable enough because they've got something interesting going on, and then you look at the fandom and realize 99% of their fans don't actually care about engaging with any of the things that make them interesting and instead seem to be fans of an imaginary milquetoast version that exists solely for ship and/or angst content and is so far removed from the canon character they might as well be an unrelated OC at this point

Hey, I really love the vibe of your story Cinnamon and Kerosene. I gave it a like a few months back, but it's still just as good when I read it again now.

thank you so much!! you've reminded me that I should post in on ao3 too:) I have more short pieces like that in my drafts, I'll probably make a collection of those. they're easier to write and less overwhelming that a chapter of a bigger work

the gun cleaner hoppes no 9 apparently smells like cinnamon and bananas and when I learned that I just had to write something about it. ive never had the pleasure of smelling it myself tho:( i think import to europe is either illegal or very limited. but tbh ive never had that much exposure to guns anyway so idk. they always smelled like just metal and gasoline and something vaguely chemical and harsh to me. which is just unpoetic and uncreative

my reason for asking is a wip i have of a pre brainwashing bell and i cant figure out if I want him in tattoos or no. does it fit. it would be kinda cool if he had like one tattoo that he got during the brainwashing with some code word so that if he ever ran off and any western intelligence agency found him they could return him to the cia. or some fucked up line detailing him strictly as propety of adler. and maybe that would be a cover up of the same shit but with perseus's name. untainted skin, just a bit of scarring and that one jarding thing that he has to look at in the mirror.

but on the other hand. full sleeves, an orthodox cross on his chest, prison tattoos, knives, guns, a testament to violence and the control he craves. something that makes Adler grit his teeth every time he's reminded of their existance, just cause they're such an obvious connection to Bell's past life.

or nothing at all. just a blank page, a show of how bell never really had any control over his body - first the army, then perseus (and maybe perseus didn't like tattoos, maybe he liked to keep his men looking neat), then Adler.
