I'm leaving Arcata today and heading back to Portland. These last two days have solidified a feeling that's been creeping up on me for a while. My heart has grown at least five sizes this year, and I'm left with so many mixed emotions. I feel like I've been to a lot of "last call" shows this year, and it's hard to see old creative spaces leave. But I see a shift lately. I feel honored to whiteness the birth of new communities, to see my friends thriving amongst the muck of the world. Everything may be crumbling around us but we are building ourselves amongst it. I feel inspired and energized by the fantastic femmes who are out there doing their thing right now. You're killing it! I absolutely can not WAIT to see what is brought to fruition this year.
