A year ago, we embarked on a journey together to build our dream home. This is just the beginning of many more things to come.

I am having an Engagement Party this weekend where the formality is for the groom’s mother to slip my Engagement ring onto my finger (SO STRANGE). 

Although the day ought to revolve around, I was more focused on ensuring that I had my proposal to my Bridesmaid ready on the same day.  

I wanted to share my special day with the girls that made and pushed for me to go meet my Fianceé for coffee that evening we first met. 

I immediately knew how i wanted to present my proposal and who it was that i wanted to work with to make it happen back home here in Brunei. That was Jellybeandreams for the illustration and Rai Ranie for the bridesmaid outfits

Et voila, above are the outcomed of everything put together by myself, Jo and Rai. I couldn’t be anymore happier with the effort put together. 

I hope my Bridesmaids feel incredibly special as I would feel on my engagement day.

Reflect. Review.

2014 was a fast exponential taper. Most common mental state of a ticking bomb. Where my biggest life event was the end of my 6 years relationship with my fiancée. I was at my happiest when I found out my brother and sister in law were expecting, when I got offered an apprenticeship in Singapore, when I got offered a PhD position and when my best friend, Audrey, came to the UK. i also learnt how to roast coffee. I developed a compulsive disorder of arranging things around me when I spiral out of control. I discovered that I have a good sense of tasting palette. The little things I enjoyed doing on a daily basis was my coffee ritual of weighing, perfectly grinding and brewing a cup of coffee to perfection. Performing the Hajj pilgrimage was possibly something out-of-the-ordinary things I did. A cool thing I made last year was a print screen robot for my nephews and an gouache illustration for my nieces. Making a big leap to change career was one of the biggest thing that got me out of my comfort in which the biggest achievement I was most proud of was getting more than one job offers/interest in the career change. Most memorable moment this year was having world's longest talk and catch with an old friend about the cup analogy. I am most thankful for my father's unconditional love and advice. And i am most thankful to have Tracy in my life. I spent my time rampaging blocks down with my family and rebuilding it from scratch providing my with a (sometimes) spiteful but honest and open relationship with them. Sarina the wise had the biggest positive impact in my life this year. Most important lesson I learn in 2014 was to be a little bit more selfish. And if I could turn back time, I would have told him earlier how I felt. And what advice would i give to other people about what I have learnt this year? Don't dwell too much in the past as you can't change it rather to focus more on the present of nowness. As that can impact your future. 

2015, however, I tell myself I'd like to try travelling by my lonesome self. I would love to see Asia and explore coffee plantations and discover what magic happens within the fields. I would like to by the end of this year reflect upon it and see to it I got myself a stable career. I want to learn a new language, improve my barista skills and master how to roast coffee and my golf game. I'd want to develop my personality and cultivate new friends and to strengthen my confidence in myself. I would like to spend more time with old acquaintances who I've shut out for years and with my nephews and nieces. And I want to feel productive, creative and content with things I do and achieve this year. I want to look back at my day to day life in 2015 knowing I did not regret the choices I've made. I want to completely get rid of the lousy negative attitude I have about myself. To change the cannots to cans. And my number one goal this year is to get that plan I've had brewing all of 2014 into action by really focusing my energy into it and making it happen. You know you've got this. Bring it on, 2015.
