Train of thought... Colin Kaepernick... amongst other things.
I'm not gonna get much into the whole Kaerpernick issue. Just like I don't go very far into Hilary v. Trump, Black Lives Matter, Police shootings, racial divide, so on and so forth. Is it because I don't care? Maybe. Is it because I'm unpatriotic or un-american? No. Is it because I fell it's just another issue that keeps people's focus off the bigger issues at hand? Possibly. My thoughts are this (and I have many), I haven't read very far into this ordeal in particular, which is to say I've given it no attention whatsoever outside of what I've seen on here. Do I feel he used his platform to make a statement? Absolutely. Did he use it wisely? Should he have done something other than refuse to stand for the National Anthem? Well... let's just leave those answers up for debate. What I'm getting at is this, I rarely comment on much of anything anymore because I've realized that all of the facts surrounding a story will almost never be entirely present. And with that, I don't want to shoot hip pocket comments and rants, and then be held to them later. I very rarely change my opinion on issues, so if I'm going to toss my 2 cents in, I'd like to have some reasonable foundation of an argument to stand by. Anyway, I see how everyone feels about this issue and I WILL go so far to say it's rather... disturbing (for lack of a better word). Not so much the reactions it's caused, but the idea that it even happened in the first place. Tis the curse of objectivity to focus on facts rather than emotion (subjectivity). But then again, I don't take the plights of athletes and celebrities seriously anyway. Train of thought lost.... #kaepernick
