Midnight Anxiety

Sometimes I just have to

Get the thoughts

Out of my heart

Because they become too

heavy to carry.

So I write them here

And leave them for a while

until I’m ready to see them again.

But I doubt you’ll ever read my heart.

To see my shooting start.

For another chance

To be the one you’re

Shooting for.

To show you who I am

And hopefully

You’ll take my hand

And fly with me across the sky.

Tonight,

That’s all I ask.

My wish is just to see if this could last.

Wildfire

Start a wildfire with me. 

Your flames intertwined with mine.

Feel the heat.

A spark into a bonfire. 

You stared a flame in me,

Did I start one in you? 

Let’s fan the flames

and light the whole

mountain side

ablaze.

All My Favorite Things

Mountains,

Starlight,

Campfire,

All my favorite things in one.

You are strong and solid.

The stars sparkle in your eyes.

There's a fire in your chest.

All these things make me believe

In something greater than myself,

Something fantastical,

Majestic,

Adventurous,

Mysterious.

Something I want to enjoy all my life.

He Was the Sun, She Was the Earth

He shines brighter than every star.

She had never noticed his glowing warmth.

Like all the other stars he seemed every bit out of reach.

You wanna know why

I wanna make you smile?

Because I never,

Not ever,

Want you to feel the way

That I feel.

I want joy to follow you.

Laughter to fill all the empty space.

I will spend all my time

And energy

So you will never feel

The sadness

And loneliness

That I carry with me

Everywhere.

I will give all my love

So you will never feel

The way that I feel.

Human

Be human with me. 

Love me in my anxiety

And I’ll love you in all of yours. 

Give me a chance to show you 

The passions of my heart.

Let me be a part of yours. 

We aren’t perfect,

I know that for sure.

But I think I could be perfectly yours. 

Just give it a chance

To be human with me.

The Fairy Queen, The Great Dragon, A Knight Without Armour, and Phoenix Ash

A fairy princess sat locked in her tower, 

Waiting to be rescued. 

A great dragon longed for power,

But he could not take it from the wicked king.

So he snuck about and whispered

Through the princess’ windows. 

He told her sweet, tantalizing things.

He made her believe he loved her.

She believed all his beautiful lies.

He convinced her that they could rule together. 

The Great Dragon tore apart her dark tower, 

Bringing her before the king, 

A man bent on ruling over her.

He trembled on his throne

As she stood before him with her new protector. 

“He will betray, good fairy.” Was all he said before he took his last breath. 

The Great Dragon placed the crown atop her head. 

She ruled for some time before the king’s words 

Became a painful truth. 

The Dragon would take her power,

Burning her to ashes.

Can a fairy turn into a phoenix and rise up out of ashes?

Maybe with the help of a brave knight…

Or on her own great strength.

Missing You

I miss you in the depths of my soul.

A shore waiting to be kissed by the ocean. 

You may not be far,

but it feels like forever 

waiting for your waves to crash into me.

Hiding Place

And sometimes the only way I can breathe

Is by taking my mind

To another place and time

Where I can be who ever I want to be

And then my fear and sadness

Just aren’t with me.
