Yurian Bey was one of my close friends even though we didn’t end up knowing each other very long. He was just one of those people who brought you in and made you want to stick around. Naturally, our initial bond was rooted in our love of taking screenshots. I gained his trust by not being afraid to point out flaws in his pictures when they needed improvement. He gained mine by not only doing the same, but by the respect he showed everyone else. He almost never had a bad thing to say about anyone. The couple of times he did, he struggled to even come to that conclusion even though his thoughts were justified. He gave everyone the benefit of doubt. Truly and fully, Yuri was the realest.

I have a lot of trouble sleeping sometimes. Since Yuri was three hours behind me (as is our other friend, Bunny), if I woke up in the middle of the night, I could message him and they’d always either stop what they were doing or find a way to include me and we’d chat for a few hours until I could go back to sleep. One of these times, they were already going to bed but got back online just to keep me company. I still have trouble sleeping and now the nights seem so empty without him.

I love Yuri so much. Everything he did for people. The impression he left on people. Everything he meant to the community. I miss my friend. I miss our late-night talks. I miss trying to get him to say “Daddy” while playing Cards Against Humanity. I miss running screenshots by him. I miss our dumb screenshot challenges. There were too many times I said, “I should bug Yuri today” and didn’t.

One time, Yuri told me that when I feel like life is hopeless, I should focus on improving the legacy I’ll leave on the world. I just hope he can see the legacy he left with us, as far-reaching as it’s become, and know that his imprint is filled with kindness, goofy laughter, and passion.

Good-bye, my dear friend. You are forever missed.

A Story's End

I have recently watched a TED talk that discussed cleaning out your mind like you'd clean out your closet. Effectively throwing out the non-essential activities that don't bring you joy.

I love to RP, I love writing. But the lack of stability I've had in RP partners and even just generally bad luck in finding folks to RP with in the first place has been extremely discouraging and has definitely added onto things weighing me down. Due to this, I've decided to stop RPing on my main. I do still have an alt on Balmung that I can/will RP with, but I'm going to mostly go back to my screenshot and content driven FFXIV life.

If you're on Balmung/Crystal and feel like RPing, please feel free to hit me up... I still enjoy it. I just don't want to keep chasing after ghosts anymore.

While some people might known of these links, I’ve met a great number of people who have not. Since I bookmark a bunch of pages, I figured I’d share the more useful ones I have for FFXIV.

CRAFTING:
