Lily couldn’t stop her eyes from rolling again, almost hurting herself in the process. “Sorry for making something of myself and travelling the world and touring!” She bit out, amazed by Lucas’ words and what he was getting at. How could he even think that she didn’t want to spend time with him. It’s all she wanted to do was just stay in their apartment with him, laying in bed all day together. Their voices reaching a higher decibel with each word they spewed out to eachother. Lily didn’t mean to really shove Lucas, it was just a reflex and she couldn’t stop herself, though when she felt him push her against the wall it was not what she was expecting in response. Feeling his chest against her, the two of them breathing heavily. Lily’s dark eyes slowly scanning up to Lucas’, noting the soft brown curls on his head, the veins in his neck and suddenly the anger and everything had turned into desire and passion. Lily’s hand moving to the back of Lucas’ head, threading through his locks and pulling herself into him with a full kiss. Her free hand moving to his back and scratching over the fabric of his shirt, her tongue running fiercely over his bottom lip begging for entrance. The heat of the argument simply adding to the heat of their passion.
Lucas’ hips were tight against Lily’s, he could feel her warmth through the fluffy robe and wanted to feel it against his skin. The male swallowed around the lump of desire in his throat, finding his breathing becoming heavy as his gaze flickered from Lily’s dark eyes and down to her lips. They caught the ray of sun on her neck and Lucas had the impulse to bite down into her skin and claim it for his own. He was just about to do that when Lily’s lips captured his in a kiss, his own mouth harsh against hers as he returned it, sliding his tongue into her mouth to continue their fierce battle for dominance. Lucas’ hands moved to the front of Lily’s robe, pulling on the fabric that tied her bathrobe together and pulling it off her body. One of his hands slipped underneath the fluff and onto her naked body immediately, sliding his hand over the curve of her ass and lifting her leg around his waist.
Lily could barely remember why she had been arguing with Lucas in the first place. Feeling his hands on her warm body, shocking through her system as it had been so long since their bodies were pressed together. Kissing hard against Lucas’ lips, passion and lust coursing through their kiss, tongues dancing together. The cool air of the room running over Lily’s body once Lucas had pulled her robe open wanting nothing but feeling his bare body against hers that moment. Her hands pulling at the fabric of his shirt, riding up his back, the curve of his muscles, nails scratching into his back as she pulled Lucas’ shirt off of him. Pulling from the kiss and discarding the thing fabric to the floor just before her hands tugged on her robe and letting the whole thing fall to the floor. Moving to tug on Lucas’ belt buckle, pulling him back in close to her body, wanting so badly to feel him inside of her once again.

“No, no! No take backs!” Caden called out when Harley tried to take her choice back, unable to stop the laughter as he did so and the rest of the group laughed at Harley’s response. Maddie leaned forwards slightly and grabbed a bottle from the table, refilling her cup and offering the bottle of scotch to Braeden as she sipped. “Want some more?” she wondered, a soft smile on her lips as the game continued. “Wow Anna, could you sound more excited?” Laura deadpanned from opposite the circle, raising an eyebrow lightly at her older sister. She loved her sister, but also enjoyed pushing her buttons and was discovering it more and more enjoyable the more she drank.
Michael didn’t really need to think about his answer before speaking, knowing that the fact he wasn’t drinking meant he had to be completely honest. But he was generally a pretty honest guy so it wasn’t too tough. “Not a single one. I love Raina, we work really well together and I’m excited to go into business with her.” he smiled at his girlfriend, kissing her nose softly. “Chris, does it feel weird to have a job and be working when your wife is still at school?” Michael wondered, honestly curious and not sure how the question would be taken. He didn’t mean it in a bad way, was just honestly curious at how the male handled things as they never really spent much time together. Chris choked on his drink slightly, not because of the question but purely because he hadn’t actually expected anyone to ask him anything. “A little.” he admitted, shrugging slightly. “Not in a bad way, she’s going to be the hottest and smartest lawyer in England.. Sorry Les.” Chris nodded at the other male who grinned and nodded in response. “All good mate.” Les smiled, his hand tracing shapes on the small of Harley’s back. “It just feels weird asking how school was today, it reminds me of my dad.” he admitted with a laugh, shaking his head lightly.
“Ugh, that’s so boring.” Laura said loudly, clearly drunk as she finished off the bottle of rum she’d brought with her and grabbed the one off the table. “You should try a question like this..” she slurred, sitting up a little straighter as though making an announcement. “Chris, why do you think Anna only said living with you was fine? Do you think she secretly hates stupid England or just you?”
Braeden simply nodded his head and took the offer of scotch from Maddie, hearing Laura speak up quickly after Anna’s answer of her question. No one else really reacting to Anna though obviously the younger female had a few choice words. Braeden’s eyes were wide, looking back to Anna and noticing her expression hadn’t changed much. She simply shook her head, a small chuckle falling from her lips, not really adding much to her sister, simply letting the rest of the game move on. Sipping from her drink, the subtle taste of rum trickling down her throat, the sweet yet spicy taste warming her insides, mentally noting that her next drink will need more alcohol and less mix.
Harley was soon taken aback and acting offended when Chris spoke, “A close second to Les actually.” She added, looking over to her boyfriend and over to Anna, blowing her a quick kiss in the air. The blonde looking over to Laura with a shocked expression as she had interjected the game once again, wondering what exactly had gotten into the youngest Styles girl. “Laura!” Jay had bit out, looking to his little sister with a death stare. Anna shaking her head once again. “Oh, it’s okay, Jay. She’s just drunk.” Anna spoke out, with a little undertone in her voice, looking over to her sister who had obviously already had so much to drink. Logan had stood up from his spot about to help his twin up. “C’mon Laura, I’ll get you some water. The rest of the crowd falling silent, Anna simply watching her twin siblings and deep down she was hurt by Laura, but the sadness of her grandmother passing was overpowering that anger and she couldn’t be bothered to really fight back.

“No, no- no it doesn’t have anything to do with you, Lucas!” Lily yelled out, her hands flailing upward, wanting to just pull the robe from her body as she was warming up simply from the anger and the fight. She wasn’t getting through to Lucas and it was getting her so frustrated, her fists clenching by her side. “Why aren’t you getting this? It’s not just to make me feel better. I’m checking in on my friends, they’re just like my family… why can’t you get that!” Lily bit out, shaking her head and eyes darting at Lucas, her heart sinking briefly at his final words. She was happy he was there, she was happy to be there with him… just in that moment she wasn’t really happy. She hated the fighting and the yelling, it hurt her head. “Oh my god! Shut up,” her voice cracking lightly, knowing if she kept yelling and fighting that she would just start to cry from all her anger. “Stop making this all about you!” Lily’s hands easily reaching to shove Lucas against his chest.
“It’s never about me Lily, don’t you get that? Nothing in my life is about me. I fly halfway across the world, for you. I spend time with your family, because I never get to see you. I live alone in our apartment, because you’re never home. And when we are together you’re too.. too obsessed with getting ahold of others or just not speaking to me that we fight!” He yelled back, finally letting his emotions out and now that they were he wasn’t sure he could bottle them up again. “All I can see is that you don’t want to spend time with me, you don’t want me around. You friends will still be there Lil-” he was cut off by Lily shoving his chest, the male closing his eyes and moving his hands to hers. In one fluid motion he had her pressed against the wall, his hips pressed against hers, palms resting by her shoulders. “Stop telling me to shut up.” he spoke, though the passion that had previously shown itself in anger had changed. His voice was low, eyes flicking towards Lily’s lips as he felt the rage turn into heat. A burning desire for the woman he loved filling his body and making him want to feel her slim figure against his.
Anna grinned, easily letting her hand slip into Chris’ and taking her replenished drink in her free hand. The group of them moving around the coffee table, the crew of them having not all been together in a long time, and even now they were still missing Lily and Lucas. It was hard even when they were missing one person of their core group, but it was still good fun that the amount of people were there. “I’ll go!” She exclaimed, raising her glass and looking around the group. Settling on her friend, Raina, the female sitting across from her and right next to Michael. Raina sat close to him on the couch and caught eyes with Anna causing her to laugh, unsure how this would go, and with her not drinking she knew she would be forced to answer whatever question Anna would ask. “Raina! In honesty, who do you think would win in an arm wrestle, you… or Michael?” Anna asked with a cheeky grin, wiggling her brows and it simply caused Raina to laugh, shaking her head. Running a hand through her dark locks and shrugging her shoulders. “Me, of course.” She admitted, truthfully speaking and really believing that she would be strong enough to win that match. “Okay, we’ll have to see that later!” Anna replied, nodding her head, the group of them laughing along and agreeing.
Raina’s hand resting on Michael’s leg as it was soon her own turn, looking around the room and seeing if anything sparked in her mind at the look of everyones faces. Landing on Harley and Raina tilting her head to the side. “Harley…” the blonde raising her brows, simply awaiting the question, figuring it would be something to do with her up and leaving New York to live in London, something about Lesley… “you’ve kissed pretty much everyone here… excluding Les, who’s the best kisser?” Raina asked, a few laughs ensuing from the group, Harley included. A soft blush running over her cheeks cause she knew the answer right away without even thinking of it, running her manicured hand through her blonde hair. Her dark eyes scanning the room, as if she were thinking of it. “Caden.” Harley exclaimed quickly, still taking a sip from her drink, avoiding eye contact with anyone, simply laughing under her breath. “Sorry, Ella.” - “Hey, nothing to be sorry about, he is a great kisser.” Ella wiggled her brows, leaning over to kiss her husband easily. Jason’s brows shot up into his hairline and let his hand rest against his chest as if he were offended. “Excuse me? I’m hurt!” Harley looked over to the older Styles and shaking her head. “Shut up.” She laughed, her hand moving to rest against Les’ thigh and rubbing gently against the fabric of his pants, hoping nothing was uncomfortable for him. “Ella… tell us all your honest first impression of Caden.” Harley jumped topics quickly, looking over at the southern female across the way.
Ella a little shocked but happy to be part of the game with all of Caden’s friends. She knew that they all welcomed her into their group, but having Harley reach out to her there was a nice feeling. “Oh, easy.” She started, looking over to Caden with a cheeky smile. “Obnoxious, a little arrogant… too into himself. I mean the first time I met him at mine and Lily’s old place, he showed up in his police uniform.” Ella exclaimed, with an easy shrug, looking to the group. Many of the girls laughing along with her presumption. “But those are things I’ve come to love now.” She added, leaning in close to her husband and laughing along under her breath, swigging back from her beer and taking her turn next. “Maddie… do you see you guys living in Florida for a long time?”
Michael rose an eyebrow lightly at Anna’s question, sipping at his water and wondering how Raina would answer it. He was pretty sure she’d beat him in an arm wrestle, knowing how much strength she packed away and often would surprise even herself at how strong she was. “Oh one hundred percent she would win. Raina is probably the strongest out of all of us.” Michael talked up his girlfriend, the statement causing Caden to scoff lightly and shake his head. “Absolutely disagree, maybe a close second.” he stated, causing Michael to roll his eyes and throw his waterbottle lid at him. The light impact caused Caden to chuckle lightly before focusing on the game again in time to hear Raina’s question. His arm moved to rest around Ella’s shoulders, the smile on his lips only brightening at Harley’s answer and he couldn’t stop himself from fistpumping. “Hell yeah.” he grinned, kissing his wife back easily and grinning down at her.
Les couldn’t help but laugh at the question and at Harley’s answer, not feeling worried about it as he knew if he was included in the mix, he would be a clear winner. It didn’t bother him at all that Harley had kissed and made out with some of the people in the room, that was in the past and he was more focused and excited on the future. “Hard luck mate, if it helps I wasn’t even included.” he spoke to Jay, patting the male on the shoulder slightly in a joking attempt to be comforting. Les looked over at Harley as he felt her hand on his thigh, a grin on his lips as he quickly kissed the female. “Very fair of you to exclude me Raina, we know I would win hands down.” he stated confidently, though wasn’t about to test the theory on anyone else in the room.
Caden pulled back slightly as Ella spoke, acting as though he was eager to hear all of his wifes thoughts about him, what she had first believed when they met and the kind of impression he gave off. He basically knew what she was saying already, Ella never really kept it to herself and he could only laugh and nod his head at her description. “I’d just come from training! What else was I supposed to be wearing?” he wondered, shaking his head lightly and trying halfheartedly to defend himself before dissolving into laughter. “So you like a man in uniform now huh?” he questioned, wiggling his eyebrows at his wife before resting in closer to her side again.
Maddie couldn’t help but laugh at the conversations happening around her, at how easily everyone worked together and how nice it was to be together again. She did miss Lily though, missed having her best friend by her side especially at events like these. Her eyes met Ella’s at the question, and she didn’t really know how to answer it. Caden had kind of brought up all the nerves she’d had about the future earlier, but being questioned directly now only made Madeline feel even less prepared. Instead of answering she downed her drink in one mouthful, shaking her head lightly in refusal of the question. “Okay, Les. We know the least about you, so here’s one for you. If you had three wishes and you couldn’t wish for world peace or anything.. What would you wish for?” she wondered, knowing that the question wasn’t as funny as the others that had been asked but also wanting to get to know Les a little better and wanting to get the pressure off of her.
“Oh that’s easy.” Les spoke, clearing his throat slightly as though he was addressing the nation. “I’d wish for a never-ending bottle of scotch. That I could read Tess’s mind and know what she wanted. And I’d wish that none of you were here right now so I could spend the night alone with Harley.” Les nodded, his answers causing laughter to flow through the group. “Alright Caden, I have a similar question to Raina. Other than your lovely wife, out of all the people in this room you’ve kissed. Who has been the best?” he questioned, Caden not really thinking it through before he answered. “Braeden.” he spoke, shrugging lightly as though it was nothing but really wanting to see how Harley and Raina would react. “Jase, think you’ll ever settle down with someone?” he asked, knowing his friend had been single for a long time and now that everyone was starting to settle down and begin the next chapter of their lives, he wondered what Jason’s plan was.
Harley shrugged her shoulders, noticing Caden’s reaction. Knowing that was just his personality and that was how he was going to react. Looking over to Les and nodding in agreement. “Of course you would’ve won hands down.” She added, kissing him back easily, the feeling of the kiss lingering for a moment. Looking back as the game went on, unable to stop her laughter at Ella’s answer and nodding her head along. “She hit the nail on the head with that one.” Harley exclaimed, lifting her glass, taking a sip from the red wine in her glass. Not really playing to the rules of the game, simply drinking more and more out of her glass, wanting it to be empty sooner rather than later.
“I thought you were a stripper!” Ella added, swigging from her beer in between laughs, leaning in closer to her husband, her hand resting against his leg as she smiled up at him. “Yes, I love a man in uniform now.” She replied, nodding her head easily, wiggling her brows back at Caden. “Okay, get a room you two.” Braeden spoke out from next to his best friend, making fake sick noises. Listening to Ella’s question, the answer was easy to him and he kept his eyes ahead though soon noticing Maddie swig back from her drink. Causing Braeden’s brows to furrow and he seemed slightly confused. In his mind they would stay in Florida for quite some time. He had a great job out there, his parents and siblings were there... he hoped that Maddie enjoyed herself though now he was worried that she didn’t enjoy it as much as he thought.
Harley found herself perked up listening to see if Lesley would answer his question. Hoping that all of his wishes would have something to do with her. She was just selfish in that kind of way, wanting a lot of things to be about her, especially when it came to Les. Blush covering over her cheeks and wiggling her brows at him in response. “Okay, everyone leave.” She laughed, looking at the group, clearly joking but deep down she wouldn’t have been mad if they had all left and she had the place to herself with Lesley. His accent and words flowing off his tongue so easily, Harley just wished he was whispering hotly into her ear instead of in the group of people. Soon noticing Caden’s response to the same question that Harley had answered earlier. “Excuse me?! At least give me the pity vote.” She exclaimed, raising her brows and shaking her head. “I take mine back. Anna’s the best.” Anna laughing in response and running a hand through her hair. “I don’t want to be your second choice!”
Jason having been looking around the room, laughing along with his friends questions and answers, happy to be back with his chosen family. Though knocked out of his small trance when Caden said his name, pulling the beer bottle away from his lips and raising his brows. Laughing softly and shrugging his shoulders quickly. “Maybe one day, not anytime soon though. I’m pretty focused on my career and don’t have time to settle down right now.” He added, a lot of the group simply nodding, a short silence came over the group as Jason looked around. “Anna, how’s life across the pond?” - “Fine.” Anna spoke out quick, not even taking a minute to think about it, sure that it probably sounded like she wasn’t having a good life but just right then in this point of her life, she wished she was back in New York for good. She wanted to be with her parents and hated being so far away. Anna and Chris’ life in London was great, she couldn’t ask for a better life but she was just going through a lot with her grandmother passing and she had just answered the question without even thinking. “Michael, you have any reservations about getting in to business with your girl?” Anna questioned easily, wiggling her brows to the male, sipping from her glass.

“That’s not the point, Lucas. I know I can’t actually help. But I can try my hardest to be supportive in any way possible.” Lily bit out, throwing her hands up, getting frustrated at the fight starting to ensue. Their love obviously not able to stop the arguments from starting. Sighing and running her hand through her damp hair. “I’m not wishing I was somewhere else, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. But I can still want to be a good friend and check in on my family.” She exclaimed, crossing her arms over her chest, the robe soft against her flesh. The anger rushing through her and warming up her skin, feeling herself get a bright shade of red in response. Rolling her eyes hard and letting her arms fall to her side. “Oh my god, Lucas. Stop being so dramatic. I’m glad you’re here, I’m happy to be here too… but stuff is going on at home and it makes me upset not to be there. Quit turning this around and making this a you problem. This has nothing to do with you!” Lily bit out, knowing now that her voice was raising but she couldn’t help it any longer.
“Of course it has to do with me!” Lucas responded, matching Lily’s tone with his own, frustrated at the way everything was going and desperately wishing that this wasn’t happening. That instead they were happy and loved up and potentially rolling around in her sheets. “Are you glad I’m here? How would I know, you hardly speak to me now unless we’re fighting.” he responded, knowing he was right but also that he wasn’t totally innocent when it came to their arguments. “What are you going to do though, Lily? How is constantly texting them actually helping, other than making you feel better?” he bit out, shaking his head lightly. “I get that you wish you were there and want to help, but you can’t. You’re here, in Paris, with me. Why are you so desperate to wish you weren’t?!”
I’m checking in on my friends, they’re just like my family... why can’t you get that!” Lily bit out, shaking her head and eyes darting at Lucas, her heart sinking briefly at his final words. Harley couldn’t stop the laugh that let out between herself and Lesley. She shook her head, biting down on her bottom lip, her hand moving to rest against his chest, feeling the muscles of his chest through his shirt against her fingertips. “Quit it. We need to be good.” She laughed, pushing herself away from her boyfriend. Raising her brows, looking up at Les, running a hand through her wavy blonde locks. “Good boy. I’m always the boss.” Harley added, wiggling her brows, picking up her glass from the counter and taking another big drink of her wine, surprised she hadn’t felt the buzz of alcohol yet, figuring she needed to fix that. “Yes, agreed. Let’s go get this party started, it’s starting to look like a retirement home.” Harley moved from the kitchen into the living room. “Okay, guys! Time for a game, we need to be on our faces drunk by nine o’clock. Times a tickin’!” The blonde yelled out, a wide grin on her lips.
“I love you, too.” Anna added, her lips tugging upward into a soft smile, one that exuded her feelings perfectly. She was glad to be there, but not exactly the poster child for complete and utter happiness in that moment. Nodding her head and handing her glass to her husband to get her a drink when Harley barreled into the living room, exclaiming for a game and Anna knew that this was probably what she needed. “Alright, what’s the name of the game then Harls.” Anna asked, linking her arm with her blonde friend who grinned wickedly, happy to see that Annabelle was on board.
Braeden’s eyes went wide at how eager his best friend seemed to be about the couple getting married, when they hadn’t even gotten engaged. When they hadn’t even had the conversation about that or if either of them wanted it. Brae didn’t really know if Maddie wanted marriage or what she wanted in terms of a wedding. Shaking his head, his hand resting on Caden’s shoulder. “Settle down, buddy. We haven’t even talked about it.” He tried, raising his brows to his friend and subtly trying to shake his head, just wanting him to shut up about the topic. Thankful when he heard the cries of Harley’s voice through the room next to them. “Oh perfect, a game. Let’s go.” He nodded, taking Maddie’s hand and moving to the living room where everyone else was gathering.
Harley moved to turn the stereo down, making sure the music didn’t drown out her voice as she addressed everyone. “First, I want to make a toast. I’m so grateful for all of you guys, having you all in my life. You are all like family to me. Jay, Anna, Logan, Laura… we all love you, and we’re so sorry for your loss.” Anna took a deep breath and simply nodded her head, knowing that would hopefully be the last time anything would get brought up. “Cheers to you guys, cheers to us!” Harley held up her wine glass, to cheers the room before taking a swig of red wine. “Now, for game time. Truth or shot! For those not drinking, means you’re forced to answer your questions.” Harley added, shrugging her shoulders with a small laugh.
Les chuckled softly, quickly kissing the females cheek before following her into the living room and letting his hand rest on the small of her back as she made the announcement and described the game. He was excited for the game, but more to be spending time with Harley’s family and friends and get to know them a little better. He still felt like an outsider when it came to this environment, though wore it so well that it was hard to notice. Chris couldn’t help but laugh as Harley mentioned wanting to play a game, not at all surprised by the way the night had gone but was glad to find that Anna was going to play, hoping that whatever Harley had planned would distract his wife and hopefully help her to have a nice time with her friends. He laced his fingers with Anna’s during Harley’s toast, squeezing her fingers lightly before pressing a kiss to her knuckles.
Caden nodded at his best friends words, really wanting him to move back to New York more than anything. He missed his best friend, feeling less whole without him nearby. “Honestly, I just miss you. You should just move home.” he shrugged lightly, spotting the look on his best friends face and nodding gently. He wasn’t trying to make things awkward between Braeden and Maddie, but really just wanted to be able to spend time with his brother and have him close again. When Harley announced a game, Caden headed back towards Ella and passed her a drink with a smile, kissing her cheek gently as a greeting. “This can only end badly.” he chuckled lightly, heading towards the middle of the room with his wife.
Maddie didn’t really know what to say, her mind was spinning out a little even just at the thought of someone else mentioning that she and Braeden should get married. Caden’s explanation made her laugh though, relaxing her a little bit as she figured he probably wasn’t that serious about it. It still brought a lot of thoughts to the forefront of her mind, trying to push them back and just focus on the night and on the game.
The group of them all sat around in a circle on the floor, reminiscent of when they were all younger and would often sit around in the same circle, playing various drinking games and often dissolve into teen drama that would have them fighting and then making up again before the next party. “Who’s first?” Laura asked, already feeling a little bit tipsy as she had been drinking steadily since they arrived at the Trites’ home.
Many of the girls laughing along with her presumption. “But those are things I’ve come to love now.” She added, leaning in close to her husband and laughing along under her breath, swigging back from her beer and taking her turn next. “Maddie... do you see you guys living in Florida for a long time?”

Lily couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Lucas’ words, reaching for her coffee and taking another drink of it, finishing off the drink and clinking the ceramic back down on the cart. “Seriously, Lucas? Give it up. Because this way they know I’m thinking about them, they know I want to be there.” Lily bit out, shaking her head at Lucas and feeling anger start to boil inside of her. He had barely been in her suite for half hour now and the couple was already yelling at one another. This seemed to be their new normal and deep down Lily knew that it wasn’t good for them. She was blinded by love and didn’t even see their problems right infront of her. “Yes I care that you’re here. But sorry I can’t just shut off the rest of my life because you decided to surprise me in Europe. There’s stuff still going on Lucas, stuff besides you showing up here.” Lily bit out again, standing up from the couch, needing to pace to extinguish her anger a little bit.
Lucas sighed softly and shook his head, hating that the fighting had followed them to the City of Love. “I’m sure they know that, you don’t have to be in constant contact for them to know that.” he looked away from her for a moment, unsure what to say that would make her understand how he was feeling. That he wasn’t important, that she’d rather be on her phone than spending time with him. “And what exactly can you do to help, Lily. You’re in Paris, on the other side of the world with no way of helping. They all know you’d rather be there than be here but there’s literally nothing you can do. Why can’t you just enjoy being here instead of wishing you were somewhere else?” he spoke, putting his head in his hands and shaking it again. “Maybe I should just go. I’d hate to keep you from the rest of your life.” Lucas said finally, standing up at that and finally looking over at Lily. The woman he loved so much it hurt to fight with her, but he just couldn’t help it.
I’m glad you’re here, I’m happy to be here too... but stuff is going on at home and it makes me upset not to be there. Quit turning this around and making this a you problem. This has nothing to do with you!” Lily bit out, knowing now that her voice was raising but she couldn’t help it any longer.

Anna had simply sighed, though followed by a soft laugh. Knowing that even if she just wanted to leave and go back home to wallow under her blankets. She knew that being there with her friends was helpful. Would help her get her mind off things, help her smile. Being around her favourite people was just what she needed, even if she didn’t want to accept it. “Making out in a closet? We’re adults now, Chris.” Anna added, raising her brows at him as if he said something ridiculous. She laughed softly, her arms moving around his waist and she pulled herself in close to his side. Not really sure how she would’ve been able to do any of this with Chris right by her side through everything. “At least try to get me a little liquored up first.” Anna spoke, wiggling her brows and chuckling under her breath. Finishing off the rum in her glass, swirling around the ice that was left in her glass.
Harley easily kissed Les back, their lips fitting together so easily and she would never get sick of the feeling. Almost like they were always kissing for the first time. “Uhm- yes, yes. Such a fit piece of meat. That’s all you are to me. Not like I actually love you or anything.” Harley spoke, laughing under her breath, topping off her glass with the red wine she had drank before. Feeling his hands on her waist and the push of his hips against hers, a warmth rushing over her body at the subtle touch of Les’ lips on her shoulder. “Careful, you shouldn’t be trying to start something that you can’t finish.” Harley whispered out, sipping from her wine glass, soon turning herself around in Les’ arms, smiling up at him. “We at least need to stick around for a bit before sneaking off… this is my party technically.” Harley added, taking another quick swig of her wine, leaning up to kiss Lesley’s lips again, the feeling lingering.
Braeden nodded, his arm tightening around Maddie as he sipped from his scotch, needing to pace himself as he could feel the warmth of the liquor flood his veins. Confusion coming over his expression, looking down to his girlfriend and looking offended at her words. “Excuse me? I have street cred. You don’t know me, you don’t know my story.” Braeden tried acting tough, though a smile cracked through that exterior almost as quick as his words had come out. Shaking his head and shrugging as he gave in to defeat. Soon being bombared by his best friend, looking over to Caden and laughing softly. “I think I have to propose first before that happens.” He exclaimed, smirking before looking right at Maddie. Something he thought about pretty often was marrying Maddie, they had been back together for a bit now and were living together back in Florida, he just knew he was ready for the next step. Just didn’t want to rush too far into it.
Chris grinned at his wife, laughing softly at her words and feeling his heart soar in his chest at the sound of her laughter and the feeling of her arms around his body. Still so in love with her, he couldn’t remember being anything else. “You mean I still have to try get my wife drunk before she’ll fool around in a closet with me?” he spoke, lifting an eyebrow lightly as though he couldn’t quite believe what she was saying, but broke quickly into a wide grin. “Another drink then, Annabanana?” Chris wondered, glancing down to her empty glass before looking back up to meet her eyes. His breath caught in his throat slightly when he looked at her face, unable to stop himself from gently leaning forward and pressing a soft kiss to her lips. “I love you.”
Les laughed warmly against Harley’s skin, lifting his head slightly as she turned in his arms and he moved a little closer, always wanting to feel her body next to his. His lips lifted into a grin at her words, biting down on his lower lip gently as his eyes fluttered down over her body before meeting her gaze again. “I’m quite sure I could get both of us to finish, darling.” he smirked lightly, raising his shoulders in a light shrug at her words. “You’re the boss, I’ll do whatever you want.” Les spoke, the double meaning in his words clear as he returned her kiss. His tongue gently ran over her lower lip, wanting to deepen it but instead pulling away and pressing a kiss to the gentle curve of her neck before taking a step back. “We should probably go mingle.” he offered his arm for her to take, not really wanting to be away from Harley for a moment.
Maddie couldn’t stop the roll of her eyes at his words, about to respond when she heard Caden’s words and felt his arms around both of them, causing her to blush fiercely at his words. She had most definitely thought about marrying Braeden, but had never entertained it beyond that, hadn’t really spoken to anyone about her thoughts. They also had never really had a conversation about it, and she wasn’t even sure if it was what Braeden wanted. Maddie knew she wanted to be with him for the rest of her life, and just hoped that he felt the same. Caden shrugged lightly at Braeden’s words, waving them off as he poured himself and Ella a drink. “Details, details. It would be cool though man, you guys could move back here and live next door to us.” he spoke, as though it was something he thought about a lot. And he had. He’d even thought as far ahead as living in an actual house, with a shed out the back that he and Braeden could convert into a hangout zone where they could play videogames in peace. Maddie couldn’t help but laugh softly at that, having moved so her cheek was resting against Braeden’s chest, able to feel his steady heartbeat against her ear. “Yeah, I’m sure Ella would be thrilled.” she laughed, though all the talk about the future was slightly scary and Madeline wasn’t quite sure she was ready to face it.
Jay, Anna, Logan, Laura... we all love you, and we’re so sorry for your loss.” Anna took a deep breath and simply nodded her head, knowing that would hopefully be the last time anything would get brought up.

Lily picked up her phone once again from the cart, looking for a moment at the screen, soon hearing Lucas bite out his words. Her eyes wide, looking over to her boyfriend and seeing his hurt on his expression. Though she pulled a confused expression as she tilted her head to the side. Lily was shocked by how he was acting and was taken aback a little. “Excuse me?” She added, a small chuckle falling from her lips, shaking her head in response. “Lucas, c’mon. I’m just trying to stay up to date on everything back home.” Lily tried, unsure why this reaction had come from Lucas. In her eyes she wasn’t doing anything wrong, she was still there with him, just at the same time she was trying to get updates on things in New York. “Yes, I know. I see you. But my best friends just lost their grandmother and I can’t be there.” Lily exclaimed, looking at Lucas with furrowed brows. “Everything inside me wants to be home right now. I can’t be there for my friends, while everyone is there back home… and I’m not there.” She added, shaking her head, running a hand through her damp locks. “Sorry I took five minutes to catch up on things.”
Lucas could only raise a brow lightly at her words, wondering if she actually believed what she was saying and also wondering if maybe he was over-reacting. “Not everyone is back home, Lily. Yeah I get that you wish you could be there and support your friends. But how is constantly texting them going to make up for that?” he wondered, shaking his head lightly and leaning back on the couch. It felt like all they did was fight these days. And if they weren’t fighting, then they were hardly speaking. Lucas had no idea what had happened to them, what had changed to turn them from the loving couple that people had been jealous of, to a couple always at one anothers throats. “It’s not just five minutes, Lily. Ever since I’ve been here it’s like you haven’t been.” He responded, unable to stop his voice raising slightly. “I flew halfway across the world just to spend the day with you, and it’s like you don’t even care.”
Anna laughed softly once Chris came over towards her and Jay. The thought of the group of them playing spin the bottle again was enough to keep a smile on Anna’s face. “Well she has already kissed about half the people here.” She added on, shrugging her shoulders easily, sipping from her glass. Jason watching his sister, happy to see that she seemed to be happy and was getting on with the group of them. “The only available people are our siblings… don’t think that would be a great game to play.” Jay spoke out, laughing with the couple, looking around at the groups that have separated off and sighing. “I might grab a beer, you need anything?” Jason asked, his hand resting on his little sisters shoulder out of comfort. Anna simply shaking her head with a soft smile as if to thank her brother. “How long till you think it’s an appropriate time to leave?” Anna questioned, looking back to her husband with a forced grin.
Pulling herself in close, Harley’s free hand moving to rest on Les’ chest as he held her against him. Smiling wide up at him, the man she loved so much that she was sure this feeling wasn’t even real. This was the kind of feelings people wrote about in romance novels and that were acted out in romantic comedies. This was the feelings that Harley frankly made fun of in the past and never believed was real… until she had met Lesley and she hasn’t looked back since. “Of course I am, why else would I have you here.” Harley wiggled her brows, smirking up at him, and pulling away quickly to pour herself another glass of wine.
Braeden nodded with Maddie, knowing that she knew everyone better than he did. “I guess you’re right. I’ll just hang back, trying too hard.” He added, a laugh falling from his lips, his arm still resting around Maddie’s shoulder, holding her in close to him, looking down into the eyes that he fell more in love with everyday. Kissing her back easily, taking a swig from her drink soon afterwards. “I mean, I try to be. I’m glad you’re able to see through my hunky exterior. Shh, don’t tell anyone that I’m soft and gooey on the inside. It’ll hurt my street cred.” Braeden tried, winking down at his girlfriend, his hand rubbing softly against her shoulder.
“Yea, that is really great of you Caden. Should be open next month, just waiting on a few more papers. You guys have to come out for sure. Family & friends discount and all.” Raina added, raising her brows at Caden and Ella. She was so excited to be starting this venture with Michael, they both had such similar interests and ambitions when it came to the training gym they were working on. Though sometimes she did worry if working together would put a strain on their relationship, knowing business and pleasure could sometimes end up being an issue. Ella smiled and nodded, “We’ll definitely come out. I’ll work off this pizza.” She laughed, looking back up to Caden and she grinned, hitting his chest lightly. “Well thank you sweetie, but I do eat too much pizza.”
Chris laughed at that, nodding his head at Jay’s words. “Yeah, it’s not great. The only single people are you, Laura and Logan.” he pointed out, taking a second to realize how much life really had changed since their last big party all together. The majority of them were all in relationships. Some of them were married, some lived together and Chris had even heard a rumour that Raina and Michael were about to go into business together too. It was crazy how much their lives had changed so much, in what seemed like such little time. He was so caught up in his thoughts he barely heard Jay leave, only noticing when Anna spoke and looking to face his wife with a soft smile. “Probably a little longer than five minutes.” he pointed out with a soft sigh, knowing she didn’t really want to be there. “You know what we could do? Go find that cupboard we were made out in for the first time. Like memory lane.” Chris suggested with a soft chuckle, throwing in a wink for good measure.
“Am I just a piece of meat to you darling?” Les brought a hand to his chest, acting shocked before grinning and pressing the quickest of kisses to Harley’s lips, immediately wanting more. “A fit piece of meat, I would hope.” he spoke, letting his hand slide down her waist as Harley poured herself another glass of wine, his fingertips dancing over the soft curve of her ass which he tapped lightly with his palm, a grin on his lips. Les moved to stand behind her, pressing his hips against hers from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder. “Have I mentioned how fantastic you look in this? I’d also like to see how wonderful you look not in this.” His lips ducked down to her shoulder, knowing that they were kinda ignoring their guests but he didn’t really care.
“We’re all physically here to support them, sometimes that’s enough.” she shrugged lightly, trying to make him feel a little bit better about the whole situation as she knew he just wanted to help as best he could. It was one of the many things she loved about him, things she could ramble about for days on end and really the only person who could be bothered to listen would be Caden. Maddie giggled at Braeden’s words, one arm still wrapped around his waist as the other held her matching glass of scotch. “What street cred? You lost that the day you moved in with me, Roomie.” she grinned, biting down on her lower lip gently and looking up at the male from under her lashes. “You do have a very hunky exterior though. It’s pretty breathtaking sometimes.”
Michael grinned, nodding in agreement with Raina’s words. He couldn’t wait for the next chapter of their lives to begin. Going into business together was a pretty big step for them, but surprisingly he wasn’t nervous about it at all. It felt right, like the next logical step in the rest of their lives. He wasn’t quite sure how to say that though, so hadn’t spoken it aloud. Trying to just take every day as it came and hope for the best. Caden could only roll his eyes at Ella, really didn’t thinking that she ate too much pizza but he’d also never thought about it in depth before. “It’s pretty much the only reason I married you. The amount of pizza you eat. If you stopped, we’d probably have problems.” he teased lightly, gazing down at his wife with pure adoration in his gaze. “Yeah, yeah we’ll definitely make it out. I am going to get us a drink though.” Caden kissed Ella’s forehead softly, turning to Michael and Raina. “You guys want one?” he questioned, Michael shaking his head lightly. “All good, thanks man.” he smiled, Caden nodding as he headed towards the table to grab himself and Ella a drink, spotting Maddie and Braeden all wrapped up in one another and physically unable to stop himself from annoying them. “There they are! Mr and Mrs Tanner. When are you guys getting hitched?” he spoke, embracing the both of them in a hug at the same time before either could move out of the way.
Lily nodded, happy that they could be together right there, in Paris of all places. They could live their own little romance movie, live in their own little music video and roam around the city, doing all the touristy things that Lily hadn’t even had the chance to do. The only down side to do a whole tour in Europe. She could hear Lucas talking but her mind wasn’t really registering what he was saying as she was glued to her phone, talking to her dad. Though she didn’t notice it that much, she was usually on the phone all the time, talking to friends, family, Lucas… so having someone else in the room was a little difficult to give all her attention to him. “Okay, I’m sorry… what were you saying?” Lily asked, her eyes still on her phone sending off the text to her dad and getting another ding, a message appearing from her brother asking if Lucas had made it yet. “Caden knew you were coming?” Lily asked, looking up at her boyfriend next to her, answering Caden quickly, setting the phone back down on the cart. Looking over to her boyfriend, sipping from her coffee again, the liquid warming up her body as much as possible. And just as another few seconds passed, Lily about to speak and her phone going off again, her hand reaching for the phone.
Lucas sighed softly to himself as he continued to eat breakfast while Lily text. He had never felt so alone while sitting next to her, the pit in his stomach growing as he sipped at his coffee and tried his best to hang onto the positives. “Yeah, he knew I was coming. I was talking to him about it the other day then got the info from Blake..” Lucas trailed off again as Lily reached for her phone again and Lucas couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “Do you think maybe we could have a conversation for like, five minutes without you checking your phone? Or should I just text you?” he blurted out, unable to really stop himself as the frustration and hurt bubbled inside him and began to float to the surface. “Sorry, I just.. It’s hard to feel like we’re actually talking when you’re hardly listening to me, and just on your phone the whole time. I know you miss your family, but I’m right here.. Next to you, in real life.”
Lily picked up her phone once again from the cart, looking for a moment at the screen, soon hearing Lucas bite out his words. Her eyes wide, looking over to her boyfriend and seeing his hurt on his expression. Though she pulled a confused expression as she tilted her head to the side. Harley enjoyed talking with Chris, having gotten closer with him since her stay in England. The two couples usually spending most of their time together, they had really found a life for themselves and Harley was so grateful to have found Lesley, and having some of her best friends around while it happened. “I believe it was right around the same time you professed your love for Anna.” Harley added, a soft laugh falling from her lips, the tart red wine in her glass warming her insides. Looking around the area and grateful that everyone was there, amazed by how far they all had come in the last few years. “I’m old, you’re still a child.” She added, there was still a bit of an age difference between Harley and Chris. She having being the oldest after Jason in the group, and Chris being one of the youngest in their friends. When Maddie had left their little circle, Harley noticed Les walk by towards the kitchen and deciding to follow after him like a little puppy dog, soon hearing their own dog following Harley. “You drunk yet?” Harley asked, sliding up next to Les, her hand moving to rest against his back, kissing his cheek softly. Hearing the faint noise of a whimper coming from the bottom of their feet, Tessa looking up at them with her puppy dog eyes.
Anna and Jay both shook their head to Les’ offer of a drink, Anna wanting to pace herself, and Jason not really much of a binge drinker since being in the army. Though the following encounter with Braeden was enough to make her crave another drink. Sighing once Maddie interfered and brought him away from the group, Braeden looking back down to his girlfriend and nodding along. “I was just trying to be helpful.” He tried, his voice soft as his arm wrapped around Maddie’s shoulder. “Y’know be comforting and all that… I guess I went about it the wrong way.” Braeden added, shrugging softly moving into the dining room where on the table a few bottles of hard liquor had been placed out, grabbing himself a bottle of scotch and pouring a stiff drink for himself. “How are we supposed to act? Just like nothings happening?” Braeden questioned, confused by that, but wondering if that’s how they were all going about it.
Ella grinned, looking over at Caden and how he cuddled with the dog, knowing he was very affectionate especially around animals. Their new puppy, Boo, didn’t have a chance around Caden. Though the small child inside of him was what Ella loved about her husband, laughing softly at the little sparkle in his eyes when the dog kissed his face. “Maybe it’s good Boo isn’t here, she wouldn’t be happy seeing her daddy cuddling up to another dog.” Ella spoke, looking up to Caden, her arm snaking around his waist. Raina nodded in agreement, “Yea, dogs can get pretty territorial.” She added easily, looking over at Michael quickly, shrugging her shoulders. “We’re doing good, finally doing those finishing touches on our place, I’m kind of a perfectionist when it came to the decorating.” Raina laughed easily under her breath. “Well you guys look incredible.” Ella observed, the other couple obviously having worked out and ate right. “I love pizza too much to look like that.” - “Oh please, you look great.” Raina added, shaking her head.
Chris made his way over to Anna and Jason once the conversation between himself and Harley ended, the male gently sliding his arm around Anna’s waist and kissing her cheek softly in greeting. “Just wanted to warn you guys, Harley was just talking about spin the bottle so I’m not entirely sure what she has planned for tonight.” he teased softly, having noticed the slight tension in this area before and wanting to lighten it slightly. Though he wasn’t entirely sure what to say. Les headed into the kitchen to pour himself another drink, having barely brought the glass to his lips before feeling a soft hand on his back. He turned on his heel and grinned at the female, capturing her lips in a hot kiss until the soft whimper of their dog distracted him, causing him to pull away slightly from Harley’s lips. “Hello darling, are you mad you’re not the center of attention?” he asked the dog, laughing softly as his arm moved around Harley’s waist and he held her close. “Not drunk yet, are you wanting to take advantage of me?” He wondered, raising an eyebrow gently and acting as though it was highly scandalous that she could even be thinking that.
“I know baby, I know.” Maddie sighed softly, wrapping her arms around Braeden in a soft hug and squeezing him slightly. His small voice made her heart ache, he had the sweetest soul and she loved everything about him. “It’s just hard right now I think, she’s probably had so many people say the exact same thing to her and it’s a lot.” Maddie bit down on her lower lip gently, lifting her shoulders and pouring herself a drink before taking his hand again. “I guess we just act as normally as we can.. If any of them want to talk about it, they’ll bring it up. I mean we’re all here for them, they know that.” She moved onto her tip toes, gently pressing her lips against Braeden’s before resting at her normal height. “You’re such a sweetheart, you know that?”
Caden chuckled softly at Ella’s words, knowing that she was right and Boo definitely wouldn’t like Caden hanging out with another dog. He couldn’t help it though, he’d always loved animals and that was a fact he didn’t see changing. “We’re going to go home smelling like another dog.. I don’t think she’ll be happy anyway.” Caden laughed, listening as Raina and Michael spoke and nodding his head gently. It was evident that these two worked out and took care of their bodies. Caden did his best to do the same, though it was only for his job which meant he generally slipped up when it came to eating healthily. “It’ll be so good to finally get your place open too. I’ve got a couple of friends on the force who are looking for a new gym, I’ll point them your way.” he smiled, wanting to support his friends as best he could. Michael smiled at that, nodding his head in Caden’s direction. “Thanks, that means a lot Caden. And the place does look great, Raina is doing an incredible job. She’s very talented.” He grinned, kissing her cheek softly. Caden looked at Ella as she spoke, raising an eyebrow lightly and wanting to just scoop her up then and show her how beautiful she was. He restrained himself, though only just barely. “You’re gorgeous, Ella. You know that. The fact that most of you is pizza, is even more attractive.” Caden teased lightly, pressing his lips softly against hers.
“The only available people are our siblings... don’t think that would be a great game to play.” Jay spoke out, laughing with the couple, looking around at the groups that have separated off and sighing.
This was the feelings that Harley frankly made fun of in the past and never believed was real... until she had met Lesley and she hasn’t looked back since.

“No, no- it’ll be fine!” Lily added, knowing that the stage crew and everyone had been wanting to meet Lucas, knowing a lot about him already as Lily talked about him quite often. Setting her phone back down and shaking her head, finishing her bite of eggs. “No, that was Maddie. I guess everyone is getting together tonight at Harley’s. Wish we could be there.” She added, nodding her head, leaning back against the back of the couch, bringing one of her knees up to her chest, fixing her robe in order not to expose herself completely. “Have you talked with any of them recently? Dad was telling me you guys saw eachother the other day.” Lily tilted her head slightly, picking up the big mug of coffee, sipping on the latte just before another sound went off from her phone. Picking it up and seeing it was infact her dad texting her back. Letting her know they were keeping an eye on her Aunt Reed and Uncle Keegan, that they were all going to their place that night to hang out as parents. Lily smiled down at that, feeling happy that they were all taking in part making sure the Styles’ were doing alright, or at least as good as they could be in the situation. She set her coffee back down in order to type out a lengthy reply to her father, about Lucas surprising her and that he was there in Paris with her and more about her show the next night.
Lucas nodded his head gently at her words, knowing how much Lily missed her friends. “I know, it sucks. But at least we can be together.” he smiled, leaning over to press a kiss to Lily’s knee, unable to stop himself from touching her skin as it had felt like so long since he could. Her questions didn’t really help create a sexy mood however so he let it go, instead returning to his breakfast and nodding gently. “Yeah, I went out for coffee with him and your mom. They miss you a lot.” Lucas stated, though knew she probably already knew that. “Caden usually only gets ahold of me to give me updates on he and Ella’s new puppy.” he admitted, laughing slightly at the weird relationship he had with her brother, though was glad to have it. They were like part of his family, and Lucas really enjoyed spending time with them. “I think..” Lucas trailed off slightly, having noticed that Lily wasn’t really listening and instead was typing what appeared to be a very long text, all her concentration seeming to be focused on that. He felt his heart sink slightly, though tried to shake it off and instead focus on his breakfast. Though noticing it was far less tastier than before.
Though she didn’t notice it that much, she was usually on the phone all the time, talking to friends, family, Lucas... so having someone else in the room was a little difficult to give all her attention to him. “Okay, I’m sorry... what were you saying?” Lily asked, her eyes still on her phone sending off the text to her dad and getting another ding, a message appearing from her brother asking if Lucas had made it yet.

Harley had simply nodded her head, knowing that she had no idea what kind of hurt Anna was feeling right then. Or any of the Styles family really. Losing the only grandparent you’ve ever known definitely couldn’t be easy. And everyone handled grief differently, though it seemed like everyone was going about this the same way. Not really bringing up the elephant in the room, just looking past it like this was a regular night with friends. “Yea, that’s what I figured. She doesn’t have all of this back in London. It’s just the four of us, so it’ll be good for her to see everyone.” Harley added, looking up to Chris and nodding her head along, sipping from a glass of wine she had poured herself early on in the night. “Spin the bottle is probably out of the question tonight huh?” The blonde questioned, laughing as she nudged Chris’ shoulder. A good chunk of them all in serious relationships now, some even married, it was weird to really think about. Years back they would have all been down for a game of spin the bottle, it was something they planned pretty often at Harley’s parties… but now it just seemed like it wouldn’t end well.
Anna had just nodded her head, agreeing to Les’ point though Jason looked over at him with serious eyes. “Dude, our mom is a recovering alcoholic.” He exclaimed, shaking his head, tucking his hands into the pockets of his jeans, Anna letting a small laugh fall from her lips, nearly choking on her rum. Deep down feeling good that she felt a laugh brew inside of her. Though Jason’s look stayed stone cold, looking over at Lesley and tried to hold it in but couldn’t. Busting out a chuckle and hitting Les’ shoulder lightly. “I’m just messin’ with you, man. I mean she was, but way before any of these other kids were around.” Anna shook her head at her brother, the smile on her face true as she felt a small glimmer of enjoyment flood her system.
Ella followed Caden in the house, noting that she hadn’t really seen too much of anyone since their wedding. Seeing the sea of people and she even felt at home. The crew of them having been very welcoming with her and immediately hugged Raina and Michael when they were greeted. Though Caden had been distracted by the dog and Ella sighed. “Fuck, we should’ve brought Boo.” She hit Caden’s side gently, Raina laughing in response. “You should’ve, though I probably wouldn’t have been very social if there was another puppy here.” The brunette laughed as Braeden slipped by and following Maddie over to the other groups of their friends. Harley hugged Maddie easily and looked down at the black dress she wore, laughing under her breath. “Oh this was my moms, it doesn’t fit her anymore, so I took it. It’s my go to, I wear it very often.” She admitted, nodding her head. Braeden trying to listen, but catching sight of Anna out of the corner of his eye and going over immediately. “Hey, Anna. It’s good to see you.” The girl looking up at him, the two hugging easily. “How’re you doing?” - “I’m fine, Braeden.” She bit out, her tone quiet not really wanting to get into her feelings or everything going on. “Well if you need anything, just-” - “Braeden, stop, please.” Jay looked next to him at his sisters hard words, his brows raising. Braeden nodding his head and holding his hands up in defense. “I’m sorry, just trying to help.” - “Well you’re not.” Anna bit out, her tone a little harsher this time.
Chris nodded his head at Harley’s thoughts, the two having become better friends since he had married Anna and since Harley had moved to London to be with Les. In England the three of them were pretty much all one another had of home. And Chris felt lucky to have Harley in his life, knowing he always had someone to turn to especially when he was worried about his wife. A laugh left his lips at that, the male shaking his head gently at her words. “Only if there’s a way to make sure everyone only kisses their partners.” he chuckled, happy for the reprieve from the sadness and somber mood. “God, when was the last time we even played that? We’re old now.” Chris laughed, though his words rang true. They were all much older and mostly, more mature. He was sure the night would still descend into some form of chaos, but it probably wouldn’t have much to do with who was secretly crushing on who.
Les’ face paled slightly, Jason’s expression serious and he knew the male had been in the army, so was fearly sure he could kick his ass. “Shit, mate..” Les tried, before Jason gave in to his laugh and relief was evident on Les’ face, laughing himself as he shook his head light. “Jesus man, way to bust my balls.” he chuckled, nodding softly at his words and the fact his mother was an alcoholic. Les knew a couple of people like that, his Aunt was one so he kinda knew where the Styles kids were coming from. He didn’t mention it though, knowing it wasn’t his place to try and comfort them or extend that conversation. “On that note, fancy a drink? I definitely need another after that.” he laughed, gaze flicking to Anna for a moment and smiling at the fact that she seemed to be enjoying herself.
Caden chuckled lightly at Raina’s words, unable to stop himself from picking Tess up and cuddling the staffy, getting many kisses as he did so. “You like cuddles huh Tess?” he grinned, heading towards Raina and Ella before setting the dog down and letting it scamper off, quickly giving Raina a hug in greeting. “Who needs to socialize anyway.” Caden teased, knowing that the answer was him. He always needed to socialize, to be around people and constantly know what was going on. Though he was a little tired from work earlier in the day, so was happy to just start off a little more chill than usual. “How are you guys going? It feels like we haven’t seen anyone since the wedding.” Caden admitted, sliding an arm around Ella’s waist and tucking his hand in her back pocket.
“That’s amazing. I feel like my mom hides all her good clothes so I can’t steal them.” Maddie admitted, turning slightly to see where Braeden had gone and finding him talking to Anna, and Anna not looking too happy about it. “See you guys in a minute.” she farewelled, heading towards the group near the kitchen and sliding a hand into Braeden’s. “Hey Babe, lets get a drink.” Maddie spoke, able to pick up on the tension the minute she walked over and hoping to diffuse the situation before it got worse. “You guys want anything?” she offered, tugging Brae’s hand gently in the direction of the alcohol.
“Y’know be comforting and all that... I guess I went about it the wrong way.” Braeden added, shrugging softly moving into the dining room where on the table a few bottles of hard liquor had been placed out, grabbing himself a bottle of scotch and pouring a stiff drink for himself.

Lily felt a little confused when Lucas spoke, he seemed so unsure about everything and indecisive almost. Nothing going on? She found that hard to believe, she knew he had stuff going on. He was working on his career just as hard as she was and there had to be something in the works with him. “What do you mean? Aren’t you recording or writing or anything?” Lily asked, furrowing her brows as she ate at her eggs, adding more salt to the dish that she ate. Sipping from her coffee again just as there was another knock at the door. “That must be your breakfast.” Moving again from her spot on the couch, having to adjust her robe to open the door, another cart of food being rolled in next to hers, smiling at the worker as he left and she rushed back next to Lucas. “Okay, I can’t wait! You can come to rehearsals, stay backstage-” Lily began before her phone dinged again, looking to see Maddie now texting her telling her of Harley’s party that night, hoping that it would be good for the Styles’ kids. Lily entranced as she answered her friend, agreeing and telling her to say hi to everyone for her. Looking back over at Lucas, “Sorry- uhm… yea the show, it’ll be so great having you there.” She exclaimed, eating her eggs and pulling another piece of bacon from her plate, popping it into her mouth.
“Yeah, I’m always writing it’s just a little slow at the moment.” he admitted, about to speak again before there was a knock at the door which interrupted them. Lucas was okay with that though, happy to get some food as the airport didn’t really have anything too filling to snack on while he was rushed to get his uber in time. “Thank you.” Lucas spoke to the worker with a smile, bringing the coffee to his lips and sipping at the hot liquid, excited for the caffeine to fill his veins. “That would be amazing, do you need to check with anyone or?” Lucas spoke after Lily trailed off mid-sentence, deciding to begin eating his breakfast while waiting for a response to his question. He knew she had to find it hard to be spending so much time away from her family and friends, especially with what had just happened to the Styles family. Lucas only hoped that once they were actually out and away from the hotel, Lily would be able to focus more on the two of them together and not so much on staying up to date with what was happening. “Is that your brother?” He wondered, indicating to her phone before smiling lightly. “Yeah, The show will be amazing. I can’t wait.”
“No, no- it’ll be fine!” Lily added, knowing that the stage crew and everyone had been wanting to meet Lucas, knowing a lot about him already as Lily talked about him quite often. Anna hugged Les easily, trying to smile but knowing she wasn’t one to really force a smile so she wasn’t sure how to act so people would think she was okay. She was happy to be there, she was happy to be with her friends, hoping that she would be able to distract herself from how she was feeling deep down. The long legged brunette moving to the kitchen, wasn’t sure if she wanted to drown this with alcohol or just stay sober, not exactly wanting to turn to alcohol to cope. Harley noticing her friend a little down and she just moved closer to Chris, “How’s she doing?” The blonde asked, keeping her tone of voice low not wanting to be too obvious, but Anna saw the two talking from the kitchen and that was what made her decision as she grabbed a glass and ice, pouring two ounces of rum into her glass, adding a splash of coke. Knowing that she was what they were talking about, deciding to join the conversation her brother and Les seemed to be having. “What, do they not have drinking games your side of the pond, bud?” Jason questioned, teasing the Brit gently. “The only drinking game they have is 1, 2, 3, drink.” Anna added, trying to converse, her words followed by a short laugh as she sipped her drink.
Braeden pulled on a navy henley over his head, adjusting it before doing up his belt. He wasn’t sure really how to dress anymore for New York, already so used to the hot air of Florida and he was hoping he would be alright, having not brought a coat with him for this trip. Running a hand through his tousled hair, not really putting much effort into it before hearing Maddie’s voice ringing down from upstairs. “Coming!” He shouted back up, turning the light off in the room he was set to sleep in. Feeling a little weird about being in Chris’ room, though he knew he hadn’t been in there for awhile now, it was still odd to him. Also the fact that a whole floor separated him and Maddie, where back in Florida they had their own one bedroom apartment together and they were always around one another. Going up the stairs, skipping every other one and spotting Maddie underneath the light of the entryway. “You look fantastic.” Braeden exclaimed, taking her hand and twirling her around just in time to capture her lips quickly.
Ella shook her head in response and sighed at Caden’s plea for their puppy to have come with them. “No, it’s good she’s with your mom. She would be a hassle, she’s still too young. We’d have to keep such a close eye on her.” She added, looking over to her husband who was obviously missing their dog and Ella couldn’t stop the soft chuckle that fell from her lips. Her hand moving to cup Caden’s cheek, leaning in quick to peck his lips, her engagement and wedding band catching her eyes easily at the glint of the light from outside. Hearing the back doors of their car open up and Ella looked back immediately, smiling at the other couple in the backseat as they pulled from the driveway. “We’re great, how’re you guys? It’s been awhile. How was your trip back?” She asked, looking back to the road infront of them, turning back over her shoulder once in awhile to chat with the two. “It was good, a little exhausting. Still trying to catch up on sleep. We’ve both been working quite a bit.” Braeden exclaimed, his hands finding Maddie’s easily and linking their fingers together.
Chris bit down on his lower lip gently at Harley’s words, shaking his head softly as he kept his voice as low as hers, not wanting Anna to know that they were talking about her - though he was pretty sure his wife would be able to figure it out. “Not great. It took a lot to get her here.” he admitted, looking up at Harley and noticing her concern mirrored his own. “It’ll get better, it’s just going to take time. This will be good though, even just getting out of the house is good.” he spoke softly, glad he was able to speak to someone that really just wanted to be there for Anna, without accidentally making them sad at the conversation. It was hard being at the Styles’ house at the moment, but he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, really just wanting to be there for everyone.
Les chuckled softly at Jason’s jest, sipping at his glass of scotch and laughing at Anna’s retort. “We’re all high functioning alcoholics in England, no need for games.” he returned the tease, glad to be spending a bit of time with all of Harley’s friends and family. The atmosphere was very different to the wedding, and Les was slightly less nervous having already met everyone. It was now more a matter of getting to know them better, knowing he wanted to be in Harley’s life for a long time and that he really needed to get along with her friends to ensure that happened. “Besides, I don’t think our English drinking games really compare to your American ones. Have you played Captain before?” Les wondered, always good at bonding with people over drinking games and alcohol.
Maddie laughed softly against Braeden’s lips, returning his soft kiss and letting her free hand rest against his chest. “You look far too handsome.. Actually I think you need to go change right now.” she grinned, unable to stop herself from stealing another kiss while they were alone. Her parents had already left to head over to the Styles’ place, and Maddie was enjoying actually getting to be alone with her boyfriend. It was weird having so much space between them, not used to being so far apart since reuniting at Caden and Ella’s wedding. She buckled up next to Braeden easily, resting one leg over the other as she held his hand, bringing their fingers together and gently kissing his knuckles.“Yeah, it’ll be good to just hang out with some friends and relax for a little. Not worry about work so much.” Maddie agreed, nodding her head gently as Caden pulled into the Trites’ driveway and they all headed inside.
Tess heard the front door open and immediately began to bark, running to see who was at the door and immediately jumping all over Ella and Caden who were first in. “Puppy!” Caden cooed, immediately bending down to pat the dog and wishing again that he and Ella had brought Boo with them. Maddie slipped in behind the couple who had paused at the door, her hand still in Braeden’s as she headed towards her baby brother and gave him a quick hug. “Hey Chris, Harley!” Maddie greeted, giving the blonde a hug moments later. “You look incredible, oh my god. Where did you get that?” she wondered about the females outfit, unable to help herself.
Harley had simply nodded her head, knowing that she had no idea what kind of hurt Anna was feeling right then. Or any of the Styles family really.
